    I have been diagnosed with primary hyperparathyroidism, and I have to go get a sestamibi test. My biggest symptoms have been anxiety, depression, memory loss, sleep issues, and bad knee pain. I'm 55, and I find myself crying almost everyday because I don't think my family understands how horrible I feel sometimes. 😢❤

      I’m so sorry you are going through this. Know that once you treat it you will feel significantly better. This is one of what is considered and “invisible illness” because there is no outward sign that you are ill, but you feel horrible inside. Please find an expert surgeon to quickly treat it.

      @@LarianMD Thank you for your reply. I am getting the sestamibi test done this Thursday. I wish I lived closer to your clinic. ❤️

    I’ve had kidney stones for over 20 years. Been recently dx with CKD Stage 3A. Calcium has reached 9, but fluctuates. HPT has reached 134. I have a 5mm kidney stone and hydronephrosis. Vitamin D is 27 in spite of being on megadose for 6 weeks now and supplements for 6 months (was as low as 11 6 months ago). Depression, anxiety, fatigue, burning in my legs, terrible pain in my legs, yet feeling of lead in my legs when walking and legs won’t work right. Burning and heaviness in torso. Burning feeling going up my back. I feel like I’m in my 80’s. I’m 63. I could go on and on. Thank you for your videos, Dr. I wish I could see you in your office! 😭

    For YEARS I`ve felt...not right to down right awful. I have joint pain, soreness all over, SUPER fatigued, depressed, high BP despite eating WFPB diet w/ ZERO sodium and exercising, heart palpitations (had Atrial flutter 5 years ago) etc. But I just thought that was from getting older (currently 63yr WM). Well, I checked my blood results from my yearly exams at the Veteran`s Administration and my calcium has been over 11.0 for 7 years! I asked the doc about it and she did another test for INTACT-PTH and PO4 and CALCIUM. My INTACT-PTH is 198.3! CAL is 11.4 and PO4 is low. So, for years and years I`ve suffered and suffered no one said a word or investigated further until i did my own research. And people wonder why veterans HATE the damn VA.

    Thank you for your expertise in this disease. You’re a wealth of information, and make it easy to understand. I’ve had symptoms for years, and recently got worse. Osteoporosis, kidney stones, fatigue, bone pain, and more. My PTH is high, but calcium is on higher side of normal, so my doctor sent me for genetic testing, because my calcium is not high enough, my symptoms get worse everyday, but it’s taking too long for a diagnosis. Any suggestions?

      Hi Renee, I’m sorry you are going through this. You have normocalcemic hyperparathyroidism with osteoporosis, as such you don’t need to wait. You need to see a parathyroid surgeon asap. You can either make an appointment yourself with one or contact my office at info@larianmd.com and I’d be more than happy to help.

    Thankyou so much Doctor.you are like an angel for people living life of hell for years.
    My PTH was at 131 with calcium at 10.3, vitd 56, 3 year ago. Recently got it done again not PTH is 152, calcium 9.4 and vitd 34. Having symptoms of Anxiety, may be depression, Muscles pain, bone spur at Achilles tendon, bone pain, memory issues, feels older, fatigue, mood swings, Gallstones surgery done 2 year ago, fracture in tail bone etc but haven't had kidney stones so far.
    Pls suggest if above problems are due to Hyper Parathyroid and I'm right candidate for surgery?
    No parathyroid found in USG. Now doctor has suggested for Sestamibi Scan. Kindly suggest should I go for Sestamibi or 4D ct.

      I’m very happy this is helpful. The only real supplements to take are vitamin D3 and K2. Nothing else really helps before surgery.

    I got diagnosed with HPT due to elevated calcium and PTH. I am scheduled for surgery in July. Now my blood test comes back normal calcium and normal high PTH. Is this still hyperparathyroid?

      There are other causes for calcium elevation including magnesium deficiency, kidney malfunction, malabsorption and medications

      Is pth 88 concerning?

    • @LarianMD
      @LarianMD  วันที่ผ่านมา

      @sachinpalz depends on what is your calcium number at the same time. If the calcium is low then not concerning at all. If calcium is high or high normal then very concerning.

    What treatment for this situation

    • @LarianMD
      @LarianMD  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Generally speaking surgery to remove the abnormal parathyoid gland. Relatively simple surgery in the hand of a surgeon with interest and expertise.

      @@LarianMD I am in Asheville NC. I've been struggling for years to get answers on my health. It has been found to be normalcalcemic HPTH. I have no insurance and wish I could see a surgeon like you to change my life. I am grateful for the help I have received but now I need the next step. The Dr's keep saying my case is perplexed to which I dont understand. I dive very deep into all this and I see I am not different than many others with this same diagnosis. Praying for guidance

    One more question can your levels go everywhere ip down then in range one min your hypo with bith pth a d calcium low then up again as mine

    • @LarianMD
      @LarianMD  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, when you have hyperparathyroidism there can be occasions when your calcium will be back in the normal range, and others when PTH is normal. It is impotent to look at calcium and PTH together and follow the pattern to come up with the correct diagnosis.

    Low VitD for 3 years. RX High VitD and now high VitD. Still have symptoms. Does that just mask the problem?

    • @LarianMD
      @LarianMD  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Probably. If you have hyperparathyroidism then often time it is complemented by having low vitamin D levels. Correcting the vitamin D issue will not fix the problem

    I noticed that ever since this started, my hypertension has gotten worse. I have both high calcium levels and high pth. Is the hyperparathyroidism causing my high blood pressure to be worse?

    • @LarianMD
      @LarianMD  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, one of the symptoms of hyperparathyroidism is high blood pressure.
