The goals of these groups are goals I ABSOLUTELY support and I think a lot of the country would, BUT the methods they use are so f***ed up. Also do these groups realise how much of our daily lives rely on fossil fuels, not just for energy, but in the manufacturing, transport, repair and maintenance of pretty much EVERYTHING we use to live our lives, clothes, technology, food etc ALL rely on fossil fuels in some capacity so to just suddenly stop using it would be utterly disastrous for us.
Stop asking if he’s insulated his home when he obviously can’t afford too and he says he rents so it’s not even up to him. The uk needs to stop protecting their old houses that are not energy efficient, tear them down and build properly insulated homes with proper windows and proper furnaces.
Our house is insulated AND it's old. You don't need to tear down old houses, that's a massive waste of resources, and Britain already has a housing shortage. Old houses simply need to be renovated. Britain has some of the best builders and architects in the world, they could certainly bring old houses up to modern building codes.
There's actually a massive environmental cost to tearing down old buildings and building new. Where does the debris go? It's irresponsible and sickening to call for this
I would suggest holding these people financially responsible for any economic damages resulting from these protests.
