I finally saw your Fettecairn 16 3rd release video. Great job. Only one issue on my box in back it does say natural colour and non chilled.
Maybe they changed the label of box after you bought your Fettecairn.

I bought my bottle at a travel exclusive shop and it states both non-chill filtered and natural colour, although only on the box, nothing on the bottle. Regardless it’s a great dram in my opinion, and I got it on discount for 45 euros as well 😅

From the way you talked about it, I get the impression that you were unaware of the Fior and Fasque NAS bottlings from the 2010s that were the reasonably-priced step below the expensive older bottlings... (I suspect they didn't have mid-age ones then due to stock shortages.)
Im drastically understudied on Fettercairn so before this new set of core releases I hadn't really even heard of them!
Been interested in this one as I have a chance to get a bottle of this through one of the clubs here in OZ that I'm a member of for their March offerings but it will cost me $165AUD, just a little bit more than 50 or 70 quid!

Great bottle to receive this month! Fab dram! We struggled lots with the Xmas bottle too, shared it a lot and most of it went in cocktails …
I can't imagine my bottle of Oxford will be going anywhere soon. I might revisit it at some point

I think Fettercairn are heading the right direction so hopefully they'll have some decent stuff for lower prices soon enough. Decent liquid!

I was a huge fan of 1st release...I had more than 6 botles...I recently bought 2 bottles of 3rd release, I really hope I won't be dissapointed
Fettercairn 16 3rd Release 2022 £72 from Master of Malt !!
It's a big ask that. Probably about £7 too expensive but still a great drop for those that can stretch it
Strangely I managed to accumulate all three releases and try them side by side.
1st had best nose; 2nd best taste and 3rd left me somewhat unimpressed.
I'm not saying it's bad but for me it doesn't shine when compared to older releases.
That's really interesting! I would love to have tried them side by side to get a clearer picture
So my grandads a big whisky drinker, he loves his single malts, taliska etc, any recommendations upto £100? It's his birthday this weekend so want to get him something nice.

I've had a few IBs of Fettercairn over the years, but I don't think I have ever had an official bottling. BTW, that doesn't look like it has colo(u)r added, but as you say you can't tell. Don't think we need more regulations on whisky (or most anything else), but I get your point.
Hi Triplecap, I see your point re more regulations, but I think this is more of an exception that needs to be removed - we are used to a full ingredients list on all our groceries, why not on whisky? Paying a relatively high price for whisky, I would like to know what's in it. I can live with colour (although do prefer without), but it is all about transparency, which ultimately will make it easier for the whisky lover to appreciate and understand the product (e.g. is the colour real, or do I look at caramel colouring).
I love this and had the 2nd edition. Think I had had enough peat and sherry bombs and wanted something different for a change. This worked for me love the liquorice on the palate leaving a nice dry floral finish a great dram IMO, Craigellachie 13 is a great dram for something different too.

I've actually never tried the Glencadam 15 so can neither confirm or deny 🥃
Is it “peppery” like a Talisker (minus the peat, of course) ?
