Cheers dummies. Really enjoyed this episode. I think I tried the 2012 and it was amazing.

Nothing better than a classic Scott-Bart 2-point spread. 👏👏👏 FWIW, I've got my second bottle of the 2011 Islay Barley on the shelf right now and love it. Bruichladdich is the master of making young malt taste good. Cheers!

Now I’m happy I got this for $63 USD vs the original price of $86 USD. I hope to get the same enjoyment and tasting notes.

The 2011 was my favorite and made me fall in love with this distillary. I wonder how close the flavors are from batch to batch.

I bought this one today (again after more than a year) and I have to say it's still one off my favourites price/quality wise. (€84) and I bought some Ardbeg Uihedahl too with it because it's a good Scotch to drink in this winter period (€86). How're the prices with you guys,? Here some stay very stable, but like Ardbeg Corryvreckan went from €88 to €115.

The core range stays pretty stable. I haven’t had to replace any recently however.

How does it compare to the Classic Laddie?

Oh boy, I haven’t had the light blue bottle in a couple years. All Bart can say is they put out quality consistently.

Great review. I’ve had the 2011, really good.
Would recommend the Bere Barley - seriously chewy whisky and really shows off the impact of using a different, lower yield barley.
I’m struggling with my latest purchase of the Classic Laddie which is very wine driven compared with the previous bottle from a few years ago. Left it awhile and will be coming back to it this weekend to see if I think differently about it.

    Good stuff boys.
The 2011 has French sweet wine casks used in it's blend. It bugs me a bit that the releases aren't like for like in maturation time and cask types, that way we would see more of the influence of that years barley harvest. Or would we notice any differences at all?? Hmmm.

Poured some Makers before watching this and it's all along the shelf behind Scott. Must of have a premonition lol. On a past Islay Barley I had a super strong Bleu cheese note and not in a bad way. Good stuff as always from Bruichladdich

@@MrChristopherMolloy the cask strength and age intensifies the experience…plus the SB mystery funk and the like.
But like most others … seems Bruichladdich Bere barley is the way to go.

The 2010 Islay Barley is still, to this day, my favorite from Bruichladdich. I was mildly let down by this 2013. It felt like all of the notes that made me fall in love before were toned down and the palate was far less viscous. Likely my expectations were too high and hoping some time will allow it to show more. Anyhow, good time as always, boys. Slainte.

Great review gentlemen. I recently had a sample of this 2013 and thought it was the best of the most recent releases(Black Art 10.1 is great too!). Keep up the fine work whether 🥃 or 🚔👮‍♂️ Cheers 🥃

I'm still not on board with the wine-doped recent batches. Tried the 2011 with high hopes and was severely disappointed. I wish they still made it like the older ones in the yellow tins.
