I briefly dated a widower with grown children living on their own, who had a nice home and a decent job. His one daughter would sabotage our planned dates by having all kinds of "emergencies" just prior to us going out. He couldn't say no to her. I am a woman who is going to be turning 50 and a horrible man made that same judgement about me, and without looking at his own history with women,. Sometimes people get discouraged with the way things are with the opposite sex. Sometimes they think that they are better off being single for life. I know someone who married in her later years and she is happy.

Yes they do approach you for a reason. I had an older female boss whose husband divorced her to marry a younger woman. This left her vulnerable and she was approached by this man who swept her off her feet with the most flowers and little gifts and proposed to her in about 6 months. As soon as they were married, he wanted to add his name to her beautiful house in an upscale neighbourhood. Her lawyer sister advised her against this and to put her 2 kids name on the property deed instead. So he manages to get her to "invest" with him in buying an expensive condo which he "rented" to his son who paid no rent after a few months. Needless to say he turned out to be controlling and she found out he cheated on her with a younger woman and she ended up losing a lot financially from the divorce.

I was like she don’t know me, so why make assumptions. I didn’t know that he was a narc at the time. I don’t think his friend every said that. He thought I was desperate and wanted marriage. I was like I am not desperate for marriage. I love my peace. Needless to say it last 3 months. I went k no contact and blocked him. I was on an emotional roller coaster with him. I was like life is too short to be miserable.

I've found that being alone and living alone, I'm my most satisfied. I've been married and divorced twice....years ago. Independently run my own household about 27 years, so I'm used to being alone and handling my business. I'm now in the companionship stage of an about 6 year relationship. Happily celabent for about three years or so now - I didn't mark the calendar. I'm working towards not counting on his companionship so as to go in the peaceful traveling direction of my own choice in my truck and to let my son with his family oversee my house. I want to be free to see these national parks and waterfalls across our country. It's part of my bucket list. Definitely don't want to marry again because I felt enslaved. All in all, thanks for your insights.

Im 37, but Ive dated online. However, you have to be strong and tough and understand psychology. I reject and throw away most, but talk to them to test and see. The most pretty ones vanish in 5 minutes when I tell them Im into friendship and/or serious relationship. Most disappear. But people can be real, just have to vet them. Some pretend to be a friend just to attack you so never see them in private. Lol! I did meet a wonderful man who puts in efforts to be with me. Now it doesnt mean its ‘the one’, but maybe!!! Absolutely correct! I was that kid, along with my brother… Unwanted by him, and got to see him, favoring my step brother. Took a long time to get over that resentment. My son’s dad had an affair while we were married. And I made up my mind at that time that I would not do the same to my son. I waited until he was grown before I started dating again. Sadly, his dad did not, and he has a stepbrother, and he had to experience that anyway, from his dad and his stepmom with him He lived with me, however, so thankfully it wasn’t as bad. I’m 51 now, in a relationship three years now, no sex, and we were friends prior for a year before we decided to take the relationship further. The expectations, and boundaries have been set from the beginning. I would not have considered it had. He had younger children, it would’ve been a case-by-case thing if he had adult children before I would’ve made that decision. I would have to meet them first otherwise no deal at the first hand of disagreement on my part or theirs. I I absolutely refuse to do with anybody else’s kids, or a crazy ex. If by chance he would’ve had kids, he would’ve had to been a widowe or no deal. I was a young mother, and I am enjoying life now, and how would freeze over before I would drop my freedom to raise somebody else’s kids. No way. I really don’t care what people think, nor if they believe that I am selfish. I did find it as having high standards, and not excepting BS.

I have been divorced for 2 years and separated for for 41/2 years and I putting my standards up high . No smoking , drinking , unhealthy eating gambling , no religious fanatics, . I B want someone to have fun with , enjoys outdoors, museums, going to plays and antiquing, going in day trips. My ex still making poor choices . He said I will have to take care of you when your older . I said no you won’t . I have our children. They are adults-‘and barely speak to him. In the end he lost everything .men don’t seek me out and that’s a good thing . My mom list my father at the age of 58 due to a long term illness and she never remarried . His two story house with a sauna on the back patio two fire places one in the master bedroom and all his great retirement pay. Well I found out his address. It was not far from where I live. So I went to his house when I knew he wasn’t home. I knocked on his front door to see if anyone else would answer. No one answered but, when I tried to look through the front windows they were blocked from the inside. Why to save on heating. It helped to keep the cold winter weather we were having our😵! That was enough for me. I had seen enough 👊🏻. So when I saw him again I never told him I had gone to his house, but I asked him if his heating bill was high because of the cold weather and keeping a two story home warm must be expensive in the cold weather. He said oh no, I used chopped wood just to warm the master bedroom at night. Then in the daytime I light the fireplace downstairs only😩😵😪!!! I said to myself this is a stingy SOB! That’s exactly why he had the cardboard in his windows to help kee the heat in his home👊🏻. But he had been Bragg to me about he had a good income and retirement to have that big ass house and keep it up. It’s not like he lives in rural Montana and need to heat his home with fireplaces. No, he lives in the sunburn area of SAN DIEGO CA 😱😤!!! Dude was from the old school. Living by himself three years after his wife’s death. He didn’t cook, or clean. A daughter n law bought his groceries and prepared packaged meals for him to heat up! And she cleaned his house every week I knew right then I had to just be friends with him and not get in any deeper than that. So yes, check out these men. Make sure they are telling you the TRUTH ✋

There are young girls and women out here who accept anything in a male, they even turn a blind eye to the abuse this male always do to their children. It's men and women who are putting children through HELL, then these children grow up if they live through the abuse. Ms. Faye, I have never trusted males in the way I hear you speak. If he was not giving me money and advancing my career in some way, I would always get rid of him. The first man I dated was trash, I was young, and I lived with him in his apartment. One day, he came home, and I was gone never to return. I never allowed a man to live with me. I never made this mistake again. There are very few of women who know we are the prise. Looking back, did I make some bad decisions yes, however, I would always correct them with the quickness. When I turned 26, I made a decision to stop dating and go forward with my own career. The best decision I ever made in my life. I'm now working on my own business. I notice when I'm out and about girls and women are approaching men. Little do they know these kind of relationships never work unless they are willing to take care of this male, while he cheat will other women and cheat with other men. The bombardment with calls, the lying about having much, the I’m clean and not hanging with no good guys anymore claim, and so on! 😮 It’s weird how guys tout how they don’t want good women when they are young but tries to worm their way in with good women when they get older! 😮 What makes them think they deserve a nice decent woman, that they intend to do nothing but deceive, is really strange male phenomena. Correct. I’m an older childless widow and got enough of dating older men with their adult moocher children around. The moochers become very jealous, entitled, and afraid of losing the father’s inheritance they arrogantly believe are entitled to. Older men with children? NO THANK YOU! Who needs that drama?
I briefly dated a widower with grown children living on their own, who had a nice home and a decent job. His one daughter would sabotage our planned dates by having all kinds of "emergencies" just prior to us going out. He couldn't say no to her. On another occasion, he announced to me that if we ever got married, he wanted to be buried next to his first wife and not me. That did it for me, relationship was over. 😊

In my younger twenties, I was in college and working getting my life on. I was dating, but suddenly I had this feeling of it's time for me to have a man and baby. What a bunch of foolishness on my end, and that also led me straight into single motherhood with two children.

Yes they do approach you for a reason. I had an older female boss whose husband divorced her to marry a younger woman. This left her vulnerable and she was approached by this man who swept her off her feet with the most flowers and little gifts and proposed to her in about 6 months. As soon as they were married, he wanted to add his name to her beautiful house in an upscale neighbourhood. Her lawyer sister advised her against this and to put her 2 kids name on the property deed instead. So he manages to get her to "invest" with him in buying an expensive condo which he "rented" to his son who paid no rent after a few months. Needless to say he turned out to be controlling and she found out he cheated on her with a younger woman and she ended up losing a lot financially from the divorce.

I met a narc when I was 44. He kept trying to triangulate me by telling me one of his female friends told him that a woman my age wants marriage. I was like she don’t know me, so why make assumptions. I didn’t know that he was a narc at the time. I don’t think his friend every said that. He thought I was desperate and wanted marriage. I was like I am not desperate for marriage. I love my peace. Needless to say it last 3 months. I went k no contact and blocked him. I was on an emotional roller coaster with him. I was like life is too short to be miserable.

Hi Faye. Great channel and I'm glad I was directed to you. You are speaking truth and for many they can't or won't hear it. Movies and fairy tales teach girls that their salvation is in a man. Despite the fact that in a lot of cases, the first man we know, our fathers, abuses substances, his wife, and even his children. Yet we still think we Need a man in order to be whole. Online dating is no more dangerous than church for meet a mate. Both are rife with predators, con men, DL brothers, and the pinocchio who can't grow up.

I've found that being alone and living alone, I'm my most satisfied. I've been married and divorced twice....years ago. Independently run my own household about 27 years, so I'm used to being alone and handling my business. I'm now in the companionship stage of an about 6 year relationship. Happily celabent for about three years or so now - I didn't mark the calendar. I'm working towards not counting on his companionship so as to go in the peaceful traveling direction of my own choice in my truck and to let my son with his family oversee my house. I want to be free to see these national parks and waterfalls across our country. It's part of my bucket list. Definitely don't want to marry again because I felt enslaved. All in all, thanks for your insights.

Im 37, but Ive dated online. However, you have to be strong and tough and understand psychology. I reject and throw away most, but talk to them to test and see. The most pretty ones vanish in 5 minutes when I tell them Im into friendship and/or serious relationship. Most disappear. But people can be real, just have to vet them. Some pretend to be a friend just to attack you so never see them in private. Lol! I did meet a wonderful man who puts in efforts to be with me. Now it doesnt mean its ‘the one’, but maybe!!! We both fell for each other. Unless hes a narc or we are too different from each other but this can happen anywhere. I guess its about being mature and experienced or have the willingness to gain that experience in order to get that broad specter of opportunity! But you have to have tough skin and expect to be tossed to the side all day long after talking because theyre looking to get laid (but its not all of them). Absolutely correct! I was that kid, along with my brother… Unwanted by him, and got to see him, favoring my step brother. Took a long time to get over that resentment.
My son’s dad had an affair while we were married. And I made up my mind at that time that I would not do the same to my son. I waited until he was grown before I started dating again. Sadly, his dad did not, and he has a stepbrother, and he had to experience that anyway, from his dad and his stepmom with him
He lived with me, however, so thankfully it wasn’t as bad.
I’m 51 now, in a relationship three years now, no sex, and we were friends prior for a year before we decided to take the relationship further.
The expectations, and boundaries have been set from the beginning. I would not have considered it had. He had younger children, it would’ve been a case-by-case thing if he had adult children before I would’ve made that decision. I would have to meet them first otherwise no deal at the first hand of disagreement on my part or theirs.
I I absolutely refuse to do with anybody else’s kids, or a crazy ex. If by chance he would’ve had kids, he would’ve had to been a widowe or no deal.
I was a young mother, and I am enjoying life now, and how would freeze over before I would drop my freedom to raise somebody else’s kids. No way.
I really don’t care what people think, nor if they believe that I am selfish. I did find it as having high standards, and not excepting BS.
My children taught me patience, being fair, problem solving.

He said I will have to take care of you when your older . I said no you won’t . I have our children. They are adults-‘and barely speak to him. In the end he lost everything .men don’t seek me out and that’s a good thing . My mom list my father at the age of 58 due to a long term illness and she never remarried . She said I am not cleaning up and taking care of any man.she is 91 and never remarried . She has us kids and grandkids and she said that’s all she needs . Sending love and positive vibes to everyone

That was enough for me. I had seen enough 👊🏻. So when I saw him again I never told him I had gone to his house, but I asked him if his heating bill was high because of the cold weather and keeping a two story home warm must be expensive in the cold weather. He said oh no, I used chopped wood just to warm the master bedroom at night. Then in the daytime I light the fireplace downstairs only😩😵😪!!! I said to myself this is a stingy SOB! That’s exactly why he had the cardboard in his windows to help kee the heat in his home👊🏻. But he had been Bragg to me about he had a good income and retirement to have that big ass house and keep it up. It’s not like he lives in rural Montana and need to heat his home with fireplaces. No, he lives in the sunburn area of SAN DIEGO CA 😱😤!!! Dude was from the old school. Living by himself three years after his wife’s death. He didn’t cook, or clean. A daughter n law bought his groceries and prepared packaged meals for him to heat up! And she cleaned his house every week
I knew right then I had to just be friends with him and not get in any deeper than that.

Ms. Faye, you really give good advice. Most women, young and old, want the fantasy of the so-called "good man." There are young girls and women out here who accept anything in a male, they even turn a blind eye to the abuse this male always do to their children. It's men and women who are putting children through HELL, then these children grow up if they live through the abuse.
Ms. Faye, I have never trusted males in the way I hear you speak. If he was not giving me money and advancing my career in some way, I would always get rid of him. The first man I dated was trash, I was young, and I lived with him in his apartment. One day, he came home, and I was gone never to return. I never allowed a man to live with me. I never made this mistake again.

Looking back, did I make some bad decisions yes, however, I would always correct them with the quickness. When I turned 26, I made a decision to stop dating and go forward with my own career. The best decision I ever made in my life. I'm now working on my own business.

I'm over 50 & have never been married but I prefer to date men who have adult children vs a man with no children. I'm actually skeptical about men my age with no children because it makes me question his sexuality.
