Hi Ewa, yes, our countries are so similar actually! I've visited Poland last year (right before the pandemic) and I even could undertand some of the words and sentences. There are so many familiar sounds and the food is also pretty much the same, I agree :) Hope I'll be able to visit it again soon. Sending you positive vibes and thank you so much for watching ❤️
Thank you for this video, Tatiana! I was surprised to know that I enjoyed a lot of these foods, not knowing they were popular Russian foods :o especially Kefir! I've been drinking it as a yummy and healthy snack for years. The only thing on your list that I've never tried is sour cabbage, but I hope to buy some at a local Russian grocery store really soon! Love from the US
Thank you so much for watching Ayanna!❤️ Wow, it's so interesting and unexpected to hear that you've enjoyed kefir. I didn't know that it's popular in US, but I think I remember seeing it in some supermarkets... If you like kefir, I think you'd probabably enjoy quark too.If you'll ever be in Russian restaurant or some grocery store, try syrniki (it's a sweet dessert made of quark - kind of cottage cheese cakes), they are delicious. And I can't eat them because of the allergy uhhh :( Please let me know what you think of sour cabbage if you'll try it. It's actually a bit tricky because the taste can be really different depending on the recipe and the person who's making... I hope you'll find the really tasty one😊 Sending you hugs and love ❤️
After living abroad I am actually so curious about other cultures. I’ve come to realize America is pretty strange. I am not a fan of cabbage 🚫 lol. I’ve never tried buckwheat but it sounds interesting.
I'm always curious about other cultures too. Haha, yes, cabbage isn't for everyone for sure and I think in every country there are some strange dishes that seem normal for locals. It's funny :) Thank you so much for watching!
This was very helpful❤ I love your voice, I have tried all these products I’m from Australia and I love Russian foods. I feel light fit and a lot of energy.
I've been in a workout lately, and i don't have any idea of what food to eat to maintain my weight, you're video is in timing ..Thanks for these Tatiana🥰😘
The information about kefir was very interesting although I also don't consume many dairy products. The quark looks interesting, definitely a similar appearance to cottage cheese. I love informative this was. Thank you so much for sharing!
Hi Tatiana! Found your channel through the lavendaire Facebook page ! This is an interesting video because I love learning about different cultures and foods! I am trying to explore that on my channel so I think this video will be helpful! Can’t wait to support you ❤️
Hi Jackie! Thank you so much, I'm really happy that you've enjoyed this video and many many thanks for support. I'm going to check out your channel as well 😊
Beware of sauerkraut which is very good for you but if you are low fodmap perhaps try a desert spoon full at a meal and see how your body responds and then work your way up increasing the amount if no ill effects. My Polish boyfriend used to like sauerkraut with kransky or other fatty sausages and mashed potatoes and greens. Sauerkraut cuts the greasy feeling, especially as a lot of sausages smells amazing but don't actually taste good, except quality sausages plus supposedly carcinogenic, plus been horror stories on ABC 7.30 report about how pigs are slaughtered in Australia. Anyway I love Polish food, and would no doubt love Russian food. Where I live there are lots of folks from Eastern European heritage especially the Jewish folks that survived the Holocaust bless them. I would love to know more about traditional foods. These simple 'peasant' food as my friend calls them are wholesome, flavourful and nutritious. Buckwheat is fabulous as it doesn't require quality soil to grow so very sustainable. I have only seen the brown Buckwheat. I wonder how the nutritional profile and flavour compares of the unprocessed green version. Thank you ❤🐨 Good health
Hello Hilary, thank you so much for such a kind and detailed comment, you’re so kind! 🤍 Yes, Polish cuisine is really similar to Russian. Thank you so much for watching! And I apologise for the late reply.
@@TatianaKurnosova Tatiana, so sweet of you to reply at all. Blessings to you and wish you every success. ABC Melbourne news showed a hospital in Ukraine being bombed. So sad history repeating itself. I pray peace will happen once again in Ukraine and the average Russian folks enjoy freedom of the press, and democracy. Sorry to use your platform to talk about such things, but there is a lot of propaganda about the real reasons behind the invasion. I fear for humanity 🤐🙈🙉🙊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊💋
I will come up with smth, it's a nice idea :) The easiest way to eat it is by adding some sugar / sweetener or jam / honey, berries... But there are some fun recipes as well, I will film it for sure. Thank you for watching and Happy Holidays ❤️
Hi again Tatiana. ^_^ Very nice video you showcased today. I tried & ate all of the food in the video (They're great indeed) except for Buckwheat, which I never tried one. I seen them in Grocery stores in California though. I'll try it sometime. :) I see you added mini microphone on your white turtleneck long sleeves. And you look wonderful too; I liked your video.
Hi Carlos, thank you so much! I'm happy that you enjoyed this video. Oh, you should try buckwheat then. I think most of the people will like its taste for sure :)
There are 343 calories per 100 gr of raw buckwheat. Basically it's almost the same as other grains or pasta... When it comes to cooked buckwheat, of course it's different and I personally don't think that there any bad products / high calorie foods that you shouldn't eat at all. The most important thing is the balance. I love buckwheat haha :)
@@TatianaKurnosova haha yes I love buckwheat too,, I find it low calorie because it’s very filling for only one cup, and because of all the water it expands. 💞
Спасибо, дорогая! Думаю, оно самое веселое на моем канале - я получила огромное удовольствие, снимая его. Хотя сама половину этих продуктов не ем, ахах)
Of course most of these foods are very popular / available in Slavic countries. I wasn’t trying to say they are exclusively available in Russia - I’ve filmed this video while visiting the country several years ago, that’s it. Please be kind ☺️🤍
