I started intermittent fasting 3 weeks ago. I eat 2 meals a day. I mostly eat keto. The scale hasn't shifted much in the first 2 weeks but my clothes were fitting a bit loose. Last week I started berberine after listening to Dr Berg's videos. Berberine is a life changer for me. I have more energy, no sweet cravings and it took my appetite away. I'm implementing the "Lawn and Garden Diet" as soon as spring rolls in. I'm going to eat the "weeds" that grow in our yard and garden in salads and I'm going to love it! I did it last year and couldn't believe how much better I felt almost instantly. Dandelion leaves, mustard greens, dock, purslane, pigweed, lambs quarters, lady's thumb... Thank you so much Dr Berg, you are very appreciated. People need to know about the terrible oils, remove them and use only good, natural oils/fats. And I love how you're emphasizing probiotics. 💚 They're truly life saving, essential for good health!!
May be too soon to fully tell, but about two weeks ago I started getting some alarming “signals” from my chest telling me I may not have long left if I don’t start making some changes. So over the past couple weeks I’ve gone full speed into making as many healthy dietary changes as possible (with a lot of help from your and others’ channels) and I can honestly say the “signals” are becoming much less frequent and I feel generally better now than I did two weeks ago (and I dropped a few pounds pretty quickly too). It’s amazing what a clean diet can do for the body. Still have work to do in other areas of my health, but we’re getting there.
If you don't like liver, heat it up on butter, with onion and garlic, An even add potatoes. I often add some herbs besides the salt and pepper, like oregano or thyme. My family loves it.
They used to say you need unsaturated fats in order for them to carry vitamins. Then, they used to say whole wheat was better for the body, as well. I have been studying "health food" since the early 1970's and find it interesting how so many concepts have completely reversed over the years.
They never said you needed unsaturated fats to absorb vitamins, just fat in general. Now they don’t even bother saying that, just eat your plants and you’ll be fine 😮
@@GODHATESADOPTION Yep, that's what I am saying. Nearly everything that "science" said was good for us 60 years ago, or even 40 years ago, has been proven wrong.

Finally I found a video that has meat in the thumbnail as something that is healthy cuz I don't know why but a ton of people believe the meat is unhealthy when we are omnivores and we eat both plant life and meat
Here are the 8 healthiest foods: 1. Red meat-Grass-fed, grass-finished beef is excellent for your health and is one of the highest sources of glutamine. 2. Wild-caught fatty fish-Salmon and other fatty fish are rich in omega-3 fatty acids. 3. Shellfish-Shrimp, clams, mussels, and other shellfish contain omega-3s, but they’re also a rich source of trace minerals. Oysters are one of the best sources of zinc. 4. Eggs-Choose organic pasture-raised eggs. 5. Fermented vegetables-Sauerkraut and kimchi are excellent sources of probiotics and vitamin C. 6. Leafy greens-Arugula, spinach, and high-quality lettuce contain folate, vitamin C, magnesium, and potassium. Consuming dairy with spinach can reduce oxalates. 7. Organ meats-Beef liver, cod liver, and other organ meats are rich in many vitamins, minerals, and trace minerals. 8. Herbs and spices-Garlic, onion, sage, thyme, sea salt, basil, and cinnamon all have unique properties and important health benefits. Thank you Dr Berg!😺👍
I bought hamburger with organ meat from U.S. Wellness meats, as well as their grass fed roasts. I hate to say this, but the meat often tasted rancid, so I stopped buying it. I bought from another company, I think the name was Slacker, or something like that, and had the same experience. Finding it hard to obtain healthy meat that tastes good. I've been buying some grass fed steaks from Walmart. Those seem to taste OK. But the other issue for me is cost. Why does it always have to be so dang expensive compared to the corn fed meat. As for the fatty fish, I cant' stand the taste. I absolutely hate the taste of fish, and loathe the smell even more. Had a friend when I was a teen, who was from Korea. I couldn't stand being at his house because it smelled like a fish market. The only one I can eat is tuna, as tuna salad, so taste is masked. I can understand why our food system became so unhealthy. Eating healthy just doesn't taste as good. Not even close. Like it or not, they corn feed the cows because it makes the meat taste better. And it just seems the better the food tastes, the less healthy it is.
@@leroyrussell8766it’s because we’re not supposed to eat meat I love dr beef but he really needs to stop being so meat bias it’s apparent. Vit b12- is in mushrooms and eggs vit d3- you can get from 30 minutes of sun and fatty acids DHA/EPA is in algae oil and eggs hemp seeds have the most complete protein per gram out of anything on earth. Those are the only 4 things you can even argue about and it could be found in non meat products he does not mention any of this you don’t need some complicated
@@lawrencetrujillo7365 We are in fact, designed to eat meat. We evolved doing so. What we aren't designed to do is eat 3 or 4 meals every single day, and especially not with snacks. Human growth hormone production begins around 20 hours into a fast. At the same time, your body begins eating the bad cells, also called folded proteins. If you do NOT fast on a regular basis, you WILL die early of a degenerative disease. Fasting is renewal. Modern convenience has ruined that. Another thing we are not designed to eat are processed foods. Something Vegans and Vegetarians tend to do.
@@leroyrussell8766 Designed to eat meat, you claim? And someone who doesn't eat meat will not be able to live a healthy life ? Come to India and I will show you tens of millions of vegetarians over 100 years of age who are as fit and healthy as anyone can ever be and still do physical work the entire day at this age. These people have never eaten meat in their lives and fully thrive on a vegetarian diet which is also free from processed foods. I have been living with them here in India. I can see so many beliefs of yours are wrong regarding diet and also fasting. Fasting is indeed extremely good for the body and helps to keep the body away from so many diseases but claiming that one who doesn't fast will die early from degenerative diseases is incorrect. Degenerative diseases do not come from not fasting ( but fasting does help in preventing them) but due to a variety of reasons like stress you are living under( It is the biggest reason), your external environment, whether you regularly eat processed foods, etc. So many of my known old people who never fast are doing perfectly fine without any degenerative diseases because they live a care free life with a vegetarian diet free from processed foods. You need to reevaluate the beliefs that are there in your mind regarding diet and fasting.
@@leroyrussell8766 haha ok let me prove you wrong with some physiological facts. Please try and state any non anecdotal biological facts on why humans are omnivores I guarantee you can’t. 1: humans have IDENTICAL teeth to great apes actually humans are smaller and duller. All known great apes eat less than 3% meat look up the percentages before you say I’m lying… great apes have even sharper larger canines and molars than humans and they don’t eat meat. 2: carnivores and omnivores fully digest meat in 4 to 8 hours, in contrast humans fully digest meat in 2 to 3 days. 3: Carnivores and omnivores do not have digestive enzymes in their saliva, while herbivores and humans both have carbohydrate digestive enzymes. 4: Consider cats (carnivores) and dogs (omnivores) at meal time. They swallow their food whole, without chewing. But watch a rabbit or a deer (herbivore) eat, and it’s evident that extensive chewing takes place before swallowing, as with humans. 5: Stomach acidity in carnivores and omnivores has a pH of 1 or less, strong enough to kill pathogens in raw flesh. In contrast, stomach acidity of herbivores has a pH between 4 and 5 humans have a resting ph of 1.5 but when food is ingested it raises to 4.5. 6: Carnivores and omnivores stomachs make up 65 per cent of their digestive tract volume. In contrast, herbivores have a stomach size of less than 30 per cent. Human stomach capacity is even lower at 25 per cent. 7: The length of the small intestines in carnivores and omnivores is only three to six times their body length; in herbivores, it’s 10 to 12 times their body length to allow for adequate absorption of nutrients. Similarly, our intestinal length is 10 to 11 times. 8: In carnivores and omnivores, the colon is simple, short, and smooth. In herbivores, the colon is long, complex, and may be sacculated. Our colon is long and sacculated. 9: Carnivores and omnivores can detoxify vitamin A in their livers, while herbivores cannot. Neither can humans. I could keep going but I think I’ll stop there.
I was searching the amount of k2 in eggs. Then I found it is 7 mcg in one website and around 42 to 192 mcg in another website. There's a huge difference. I can't trust them. Thank you, Dr. Berg for improving our knowledge about our health and diet.
I forgot to mention this but I had used the cod liver that you had recommended. I believe it was Icelandic. But I found another one that I thought I'd try out and I'm loving it. In fact, there's more cod liver in the can and it's cod liver from Denmark and I think it's even a little less expensive You might want to check it out
Would you please do a video on food sensitivities, food intolerances, and food allergies; the differences between the three, how to figure out if you have one or more, and what foods you could eat instead that is comparable in nutrient content on this list of 8 if you cannot eat one of these key food categories? Thank you so much.
@Helenegardener I searched and watched a lot thank you. But I still didn't hear the answers about what to foods to substitute for certain categories (for me its dairy and eggs) until you have fasted enough and your allergies are gone. I bought a capsule maker and size 00 capsules. Found a farmer who raises grass fed beef and I buy liver and beef heart from her and I make my own liver pills bc I hate liver too. I've also heard you can grind a small amount up and throw it in with ground beef and it masks the taste but I haven't tried it myself. Recently started eating lamb liver twice a week. Then after a few weeks I started becoming more and more anxious for no reason. And then I found out that lamb liver had a LOT of copper and that depletes my zinc. Took a zinc supplement and BOOM, all my anxiety was gone. Apparently copper overload WILL affect your mental health. There is a catch to everything, I guess.
If you do not like the taste of liver you can mix minced liver with beef mince and also minced beef heart. Add lots of fresh herbs to it. . It makes deliscious and very healthy burgers patties. .

Dr Berg - thanks for video - one question about beef - you mentioned it contains high levels of glutamine. I understand glutamine is an amino acid which is one of 2 substances that promote cancer growth (the other being glucose). Any thoughts on this? Professor Seyfried is clear from his research that cancer growth is exacerbated by glucose and glutamine. Thanks. Keep up the good work
10:00 I never liked liver. Recently decided to make a change, knowing it's very healthy I cook it on fatty cracklings with salt & spices. When it cooks well I add one red sweet paprika and LOTS of onions. I love onions and they also make bitter things more sweet. Cooked onion is always tasty with anything. It's really tasty My second most used recipe beside scrambled eggs.
the other day, i basically ate a diet consisting of most of the above mentioned foods. i ate hamburger, eggs, sardines, tuna fish, salmon, low-starch vegetables, pickles...by the end of it, sure i felt full, but it was too much already....i probably could have gone several days without eating anything more, i felt so full....but it also made my stomach hurt....it was just too too much....i way overdid how much protein i ate that day.....my total net carbs was only 57 grams, which makes it a successful eating day in my eyes
I’m 22 male. I play hockey, workout and am a marathon runner, currently training for a race. Is keto/low carb still recommended for me considering my physical activity is very high?
Wow! Field corn! That’s horrible, I’ve had feed corn and it’s nothing to write home about. Doritos were hands-down, my favorite junk food snack and they’re absolutely garbage. It’s amazing that they get away with selling this as food. thanks Dr. berg for all the great information you share, you’re a great teacher😊
Great list. There are two DEEP PURPLE foods that I’d also put on the list. Purple Sweet Potatoes… which the people of Okinawa use for longevity. Wild organic blueberries… which haven’t been bred for size and sweetness like farm grown blueberries. The purple color in these two foods are indicators of Anthocyanins, which are powerful polyphenols that prevent damage to the mitochondria.

Healthiest foods if you are not overweight or ill: season fruits and vegetables, grown nearby. Ghee, egg yolks, meat that is from a butcher's, not from the supermarket and is not in a box or any container, or in any sausage or salami form. I agree, based on recent research, these are the essential ingredients to provide energy, sustain life, and promote the growth and repair of tissue in the human body (except he forgot to add water). That said however, individual adjustments should also be considered for genetics, lifestyle/cultures (ie: because at $13/head in less remote areas, the Inuit would have a hard time finding lettuce that they can afford), environmental issues and health conditions: Red meat-grass-fed, grass-finished ruminant meat & organ meats- beef liver, cod liver, duck liver (organic/free range/regenerative farm produced) & free-range

Doctors don't talk about nutrition, it doesn't help their bottom line 😢. Keep up the good work ❤.
Salt no salt fat sugar... its all a flip flop
They used to tell us that eggs were bad for us and margarine is better than butter. But, trust the science.
That's because you are listening to "they". Never listen to "they"😅
They never said you needed unsaturated fats to absorb vitamins, just fat in general. Now they don’t even bother saying that, just eat your plants and you’ll be fine 😮
@@GODHATESADOPTION Yep, that's what I am saying. Nearly everything that "science" said was good for us 60 years ago, or even 40 years ago, has been proven wrong.
I have found these videos super super helpful, but I would really benefit from seeing what you personally eat. Or a couple dinner lunch recipes!
Could you make a video with this please?
Try mixing 2 oz of liver with 16 oz ground beef. We find this tempers the strength of the liver taste pretty well.
thank you so much for your videos, I've been eating poison my entire life but have been transitioning to eating actual foods and living a healthy lifestyle thanks to you, my kids deserve it, I deserve it. Thank you
I love dr.Berg. used to be a big fan and watch him live every Friday at 11am est time. Unfortunately, I became soooo busy lately at work couldn't attend Friday videos.
But never miss any videos he posts. So informative and helpful . We all love u Dr berg. God bless you 🙏 ❤️
Thanks so much for your support despite your busy schedule. Stay healthy and safe!
I’ve been struggling with weight loss, and this video gives me hope to make real progress.
Finally I found a video that has meat in the thumbnail as something that is healthy cuz I don't know why but a ton of people believe the meat is unhealthy when we are omnivores and we eat both plant life and meat
Thank you Dr. Berg for teaching us how to eat and be healthier!
Here are the 8 healthiest foods:
You're stepping on toes lately 🎉
Keep it up

Really liked the explanation of the ingredients on the nutrition label - you should do more of these!
I forgot to mention this but I had used the cod liver that you had recommended. I believe it was Icelandic. But I found another one that I thought I'd try out and I'm loving it. In fact, there's more cod liver in the can and it's cod liver from Denmark and I think it's even a little less expensive

Let me know if you found that in one of his videos somewhere. Thanks again.🙂
Short n sweet videos. Very informative and straight to the point ❤️we appreciate the work you do
I just had 4 boiled eggs and a steak for breakfast I'm feeling great 😊
Nothing fresh for fibre? Constipation here we come 😜

Perfect breakfast. Personally I'll have that for lunch though as I always skip breakfast.
How is your cholesterol?
I bought a capsule maker and size 00 capsules. Found a farmer who raises grass fed beef and I buy liver and beef heart from her and I make my own liver pills bc I hate liver too. I've also heard you can grind a small amount up and throw it in with ground beef and it masks the taste but I haven't tried it myself. We're gonna start making our own burger patties and I'm gonna try it!
Really honestly.....the way you explain things so easy to understand...thank you so much...God give you more wisdom...❤❤❤
Thanks Dr BERG! I love this video. Watching while eating steak and eggs and some cheese. I have a very hard time with leafy greens. But I can do organ meats. Kidneys are also good.

8:30 Eggs
9:30 Leafy greens
10:20 Herbal spices
Dr. Eric Berg! I'm so grateful to you for opening my eyes to the world of nutrition, but being a vegetarian, sometimes I'm unable to extract & implement the full lesson of your videos. I'd love to see you incorporate vegetarian options in your videos. Thank you!
Love your sharing vital info and am forever grateful. Re: shellfish -- aren't they filled with toxins cuz they're bottom feeders in polluted waters? Re: sea salt -- why isn't pink Himalayan salt better? Thank you❤
Dr. Berg I know you recommend eating grass fed beef a lot but how do you feel about venison? We eat deer burger a good bit.
Dr Berg is my hero and a life saver
Thanks for your message. Appreciate it!
I have been keto for this whole year, but now i am adding in healthy foods. Beans greens and fruit mainly. Arugula kale beans and cantaloupe this week
You just reminded me that I was unfriended by a vegan friend who was studying Nutrition who was insulted and offended when I posted on FB that we can live without carbohydrates.

@Helenegardener Thank you.
I’m learning proper nourishment in a whole new level through your channel, Dr Eric. I’m just wide-eyed each time. I’m a Mum of a 4-year old and often the question in my head is how do I start my child with all these without affecting his growth and development untowardly? I just cannot imagine putting him on IF, but probably keto (low carb) is more viable.
Great. Personally, I will also include nuts and seeds, some fruit, cheese, milk, ghee and dark chocolate. 😊
I have 2 slices of low carb bread everyday 13.5 gm carb , but take out the fibire of 8 gm brings it to 6 gm . This is had with Alvacardos and cottage cheese and tomato. Bread is a good one called ploughman .i make sure that i consume first my salad and protein
I love that Dr. Berg lives what he preaches. He grows his own grass fed cows! Awesome!

How I wish I get to know Dr berg 10 years ago . He gives the best advise for everyone health . Simply love all his video . I can listen to many times ❤
I love cod liver, but I’m worried about the spray that they almost 100% of the time spray inside of the cans which can mess with your hormones & can cause estrogenic properties to rise in your body. What do you think Dr. Eric Berg?
Just eat it.
If you worry about every bad thing, you will be eating nothing.
Thank you so much Dr.Berg. You`re the only person giving us so much knowledge for our health . You have changed my life in positif way!
Thank you for another informative video, Dr Berg. Great insightful content and advice as always. Your dedication is greatly appreciated 🙏🏻

Bell pepper, garlic, broccoli sprouts, broccoli, kiwi, pears. That's my list. Blueberries and almonds are good too. And salmon. 😊 I try to drink green tea too (upsets my stomach) and I eat lots of seeds and nuts.
Almonds have arsenic, and nuts, in general, are empty calories.

1) red meat 2) wild caught fatty fish 3) shellfish 4) organic pasture raised eggs 5) fermented vegetables 6) leafy greens 7) organ meats 8) herbal spices :garlic onions, cinnamon.
Thank you Dr. Berg. You've opened my eyes to a healthier lifestyle and what to look for in our foods!
If you do not like the taste of liver you can mix minced liver with beef mince and also minced beef heart. Add lots of fresh herbs to it. . It makes deliscious and very healthy burgers patties. .
my husband has been having gout flareups since spring time. I've watched a lot of your videos. We have eliminated the high purine foods and becoming more alkaline in his system with lemon water and buy certain foods. He is also taking quercetin. a lot of the meat you listed they say to avoid if you have gout. I'm just wondering if we get everything going in his system with the prebiotic alkaline based diet, can we re-introduce these foods in a portion quantity? I have learned so much about gout, and we are taking every step to avoid having to take the medication's.

Thanks. Keep up the good work
I was thinking about this also as I watched this video. Would like to know what Dr. Berg says about this research.

Wow!
Lamb is also great, in fact they spend more time outside in fields than cows, at least in the UK.
Assuming they're eating good grass

Healthiest foods if you are not overweight or ill: season fruits and vegetables, grown nearby. Ghee, egg yolks, meat that is from a butcher's, not from the supermarket and is not in a box or any container, or in any sausage or salami form. Fermented foods but only from sour milk fermentation, like yogurt and kwass. Spices. 😉

I think fermented foods like sauerkraut are also healthy, additionally it is naturally high in vitamin C.

I eat vegetables and seeds and grasses. I guess that makes me a vegetarian. I just refine all my veggies through a machine first.
We call that machine a "cow". I use smaller machines called "chickens" sometimes as well.
1. Red Meat
2. Eggs (farm raised organic)
3. Fermented Veggies

I agree, based on recent research, these are the essential ingredients to provide energy, sustain life, and promote the growth and repair of tissue in the human body (except he forgot to add water). That said however, individual adjustments should also be considered for genetics, lifestyle/cultures (ie: because at $13/head in less remote areas, the Inuit would have a hard time finding lettuce that they can afford), environmental issues and health conditions:
Red meat-grass-fed, grass-finished ruminant meat & organ meats- beef liver, cod liver, duck liver (organic/free range/regenerative farm produced) & free-range
