Without prior knowledge of Wren (outside of seeing some of corridor digital’s viral videos), I could also sense his nervousness. The tone here was a bit off. Almost as if he cared more about giving a good talk and being liked than expressing thought provoking ideas. Not to say he failed at either. Just a little different.

That's what happens when you take a very lively and humorous guy and tell him he was to suppress some of his natural personality to fit the formal standards and time limits of a TedTalk. For his first time ever, the boy was riding the high waves, and staying there
Wren deserves some props for his video on how he prepared for this Ted Talk, it was extremely informative, relatable and motivational. Having the confidence to speak in front of large crowds is no easy task, well done.

I’m pretty sure the audience was laughing, TED just records the presenter and the audience separately so you can only hear only the presenter and not the audience.
If you look on the Corridor Crew channel, you'll find a version of this talk that they turned into a little visual essay, with all the clips and examples we didn't in this video. Also, the performance is a lot smoother as Wren isn't exactly happy talking to an auditorium, but if genuinely fantastic talking to a camera. And to be fair, both Corridor and Corridor Crew are channels that are worth checking out anyway if you're even remotely interested in cgi and cinematography!
To be fair, TEDx events are basically the TED DIY tool, so yes - someone who probably isn't a professional video editor recorded this and sent it in... ...heck, my high school hosted a TEDx event :)
Editing wise this has to be the worst TED talk I have seen to date. You've heavily edited out content that is key to the talk - It really doesn't work without it. And yes there is a definite copyright issue, but you don't have to argue hard for educational and critique here. You're more than big enough to have your lawyer contact theirs and get a license deal going if need be. The heavy editing has left the audio and video completely out of sync - Which is impressive for a FIFTEEN MINUTE video. How did you not spot and handle this?

Ok that explains the out of sync video: they actually cut out all the shots that included copyrighted images. Unfortunately, the editor didn't remember to also link the audio when cutting. They should have simply added slide to fill in the gaps. It's odd but seemingly not uncommon, for editors to render/export and not watch the final video before uploading. Amateur editorial mistake

I remember watching something on Corridor and Wren mentioning he did a TED talk. Completely forgot to check it out but really glad I finally did. If anyone watching this hasn't seen the TH-cam page he is on through Corridor Digital, he has told some really great stories while showcasing the visual effects his team does, I'd definitely suggest giving it a watch

Ok that explains the out of sync video: they actually cut out all the shots that included copyrighted images. Unfortunately, the editor didn't remember to also link the audio when cutting. They should have simply added slide to fill in the gaps. It's odd but seemingly not uncommon, for editors to render/export and not watch the final video before uploading. Amateur editorial mistake

Disappointing that TED couldn’t get their audio & visual matched on a TEDTalk on such a subject as this. Can’t mess with Wren’s vibe though! Great job man!
I remember watching something on Corridor and Wren mentioning he did a TED talk. Completely forgot to check it out but really glad I finally did. If anyone watching this hasn't seen the TH-cam page he is on through Corridor Digital, he has told some really great stories while showcasing the visual effects his team does, I'd definitely suggest giving it a watch
