- Our Editor, who happens to be a car detailing hobbyist, had his dreams come true when his prized daily driver, a 2011 Kia Forte, was given a royal makeover by Regal Valet. The steps included full exterior repair work, sanding, grinding, dent popping, spray painting, compounding, polishing and finally two generous layers of Gyeon Quartz glass coating.

Forte ni dah 2024 pun masih lawa lagi, design evergreen. Kalau jaga elok n restore, boleh simpan lama.

I'm not doubting their professionalism but shouldn't they be wearing some sort of protective gear while working in the spray booth.
They did wear a mask during the clear coat application. It was also the reason why I couldn't get into the spray booth :(

I have gaps in my pump area around my headlight assembly area. Not huge but you can tell its not entirely flush as the other side of the vehicle. Water gets in and you can see discoloration inside the housing. Also lights are not angled properly. I’m not expert. But if i had to guess. This could be done, Ive never hit anything with the car so there can be no damage anywhere.

This is very therapeutic oddly enough. Tell me why this $5,000 care got a $5,000 paint job and body work though. Itlooks better than fresh out of the factory though. *FLAWLESS* work 👍

I would recommend using a certified mask, when spraying paint in a confined space.
No masks .... no gloves ... so unsafe and unhealthy. This shows really bad on the company. I would never have my car worked on by a company that does not ensure safe work procedures. CHANGE !!

Don't be too upset - none of the 1.6 liter ones in this generation had 6 airbags (see if you can spot an airbag text on the B-pillars of the interior shots). Pretty sure most American compacts of this era had both Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and curtain airbags.

is Kia forte still worth to get for secondhand? I really like this car, but worry need lots of maintainable. I'm getting a car for the first time
Hi Chriz. The Forte never gave me problems over the past six years. I'm still on the stock shock absorbers and air-conditioning compressor and I've done about 160,000km on the car. Mine's a 1.6L six-speed, which can be had for less than RM40k now on average. Happy hunting!
From my personal experience, try to get it from direct owner as it is always better than used car dealer.
Forte is good, but the only thing is road noise due to the low profile rim and occasional dashboard rattle due to hot weather. Other than that, it is good.

Chris Ong bought mine at 12k miles, now at 65k after 1year 3months.....I red line it a lot which is obviously a dumb idea but just about never had a problem except once but fuel injector cleaner fixed it
I interested to get this car (2nd hand). Can someone share their experience using this car about fuel of consumption? Economical @ use a lot of fuel?

From spray booth to detailing? Just a little under 60 hours. Worth every penny!

Anywhere from RM8,000 (depending on level of work) and it took 3 weeks to complete the spray painting.

you can actually, and since this is a whole new paint job, i assume they would have already gone to jpj to do the necessary paperwork that indicates that the car has a new colour.
