      @SqeeG ปีที่แล้ว

      @@aril33113 , In my experience with a 2012 Kia Forte Koup SX purchased new as my daily driver with 108,000+ miles currently, it is fine for a long trip every so often (after doing your typical long trip checklist) but I wouldn't use it for constant road trips since I have a manual transmission, ride comfort is OK, tires are skinnier than normal on the SX trim so they cost a bit more to replace and have a higher chance of busting or damaging the wheel on hitting potholes or other road debris, seats can gets uncomfortable after many hours of sitting on it (you would need to add a seat cushion or lumbar support yourself), cargo space is average if you really need the space for lots of stuff (though backseat space is decent for people or stuff), the max weight it can carry per axle is low, MPG is OK at ~33 miles per gallon on average on highways, gas tank holds 13.7 gallons and will give you about 330 gallons per tank, and the parts on the car will wear down as typical or sooner (in my case, the front wheel bearings wore out). Everything else should work for long trips.

    • @gordonsoo
      @gordonsoo 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oil change & basic maintenance is pretty standard, just treat it like a honda city, every 5 years you will need to change the plastic steering rack coupler, I f you know how to DIY like me it will cost you around RM30 only, over time the plastic knob that is thatch to the break paddle to trigger the break light will brake , and you just need to replace it with a screw which is free in my case, you might wanna consider adding some groundings which is pretty cheap as well as the old groundings will start to wear off. Get the 2.0 instead of the 1.6 because the 1.6 is known for it's ECU problem. No worries if the engine sound is kinda loud because it is completely normal, you will hear plastic creaking sound during cornering but it can be easily fix by adding strut bar to make the car stiffer. In the long run you might or might not face the side mirror problem (constant winding or unable to close or open) which again it is easy to fix which will cost you another RM30 if you DIY like me.

      I had this issue, too, back in 2018. I was driving home from work and it literally just stopped in the road. Everything shut down. My car was at the dealership for 6 mos waiting on a replacement engine. Luckily, though it was a real headache, the dealership was pleasant enough to deal with and eventually the new engine came in and was replaced without issue. It was a major issue with Hyundai and Kia engines all around. If you have an older version Kia like mine (2013 Kia Forte koupe SX) and you didn’t have any issues, you got lucky. It was a huge deal. I’ve since had no problems at all but just received the recall letter for the engine in January of 2021…kinda late for me. In any case, I’d still buy Kia in the future. Trust they’ve fixed the issue. If you’re on the fence, I’d say go ahead and get one because they really are good cars otherwise.
