First Performance Mod On My NFR Forte | No Horsepower Gain | Kia Cerato Forte | NeedForRide

  • Doing the first performance modification on my NFR Forte. I don't see there's any improvement or gain in the horsepower but definitely it will helps with the throttle response from mid to high RPM range.
    There are many brands of aftermarket air filter e.g. BMC, K&N, Hurricane, Simota, Works Engineering etc. All these filters work pretty much the same by filtering dust and dirt. Most of the aftermarket air filter are washable and reusable, it will save you lots of money in the long run.
    Cold air makes more power. Factory intake piping was replaced with the 3" flexible piping and now cooler air are being drawn into the engine.
    Carbon buildup, dirty throttlebody and dirty engine valves will cause catastrophic engine failure. Engine knock occurs when there's a change in air to fuel ratio during combustion process. It's essential to have an Oil Catch Can install on your car as it will help to reduce the carbon buildup by filtering the oil contamination and oil vapor which vented off from the crankcase ventilation valve.
    Shoutout to L S Tyres & Automotive Pte. Ltd. for rotating my 4 wheels.

      Hi there 👋 Not sure about the part number.. As long as it fits 2009 to 2012 model Kia Forte.. 2013 onward forte is Kia Forte K3 which doesn't fit because the airbox design. 😁

    Hi NFR,
    Have been watching few of your videos ever since i locked my eyes on a 2010 Kia Cerato Koup 1.6A. Have done some research here and there, but would like to hear some advice from you since you are also a Kia Koup owner. I used to own Kia Magentis 2005 and 2010 models, but they were all cars that could not last beyond 6 years.

    • @NeedForRide
      @NeedForRide  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Qing Hao, how long a car will last really depends on how you maintain it. I believe even some JDM cars (Japan Made) won't last that long too. Sometimes it also depends on your luck. Some of the wear and tear parts are mend to be replace after 4 - 5 years. Coming to 1 year of ownership, I would say my Forte is pretty reliable.. I have no issue at all. If you really want to get a Koup, find the right one e.g Colour, Bodykit, Wheels etc then send it to the inspection centre or workshop for a full inspection. Make sure there's no issue with the car before you buy it.

    How long is you oil catch can bracket with bend included? Also, hoses for oil catch can. can you put a link to where to buy and correct diameter hose.

    • @NeedForRide
      @NeedForRide  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Total length for the bracket is 23cm.
      20cm height for the oil catch can.
      2cm base to secure the bolt.
      1cm for the 'bend' allowance.
      You can actually look for silicone tube on Shopee.. Total length required for this setup is 2 meters. I bought the 8cm X 12cm silicone tubing which is quite small. You need either 10cm X 12cm or 12cm X 14cm silicone tubing for easy installation. Minimum internal diameter I recommend is 12cm. Hope it helps 😁

    Hi, from Singapore!
    Excited to see your upcoming project plans.
    Any idea if?
    1. Change to HKS or SS Exhaust?
    2. Any strut/anti-roll bars?
    3. Custom cold air intake,long or short?
    4. ECU Tuning?

    • @NeedForRide
      @NeedForRide  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Raphael, thanks for watching!!
      1) I'm not planning to change my exhaust anytime soon.. Because once I install an aftermarket exhaust, tuning is required thus will be leaving my exhaust as stock for now.
      2) I don't see there's a need for a strut bar or anti roll bar as the chassis of this Kia forte is very rigid.. What are the most important for your car is tires and coilovers. Coilovers really does it's job, It worth the money getting it for street use unless you going to track.. If you doesn't have a good tire and coilovers on your car, strut bar and anti roll bar are pretty much useless..
      3) As my car is mainly for street use, I'm not planning to change my air intake system (e.g Long ram or short ram intake) unless I'm having plans for ECU Tuning which is the last thing to do.. Now having a drop-in performance filter is more than sufficient for my daily usage.
      4) I have no plans anytime soon. Ecu tuning is the last thing you want to do for performance modification because you must first get your air intake system and exhaust system setup correctly before any tuning being perform..
      End of day its really depends on individual, what or how they want to modify their cars.
      Drive safe.
