I charge $200 starting rate here in Canada 🇨🇦 for a basic exterior wash and interior detail (not including polishing). People seem to be ok with it. I’ve recently started giving discounts to frontline workers (verification needed) and they seem to love it even more not because of the price difference but because I’m doing it for a good cause.
Would a subscription based model work in this type of business. For example: Offer two choices. $10 monthly reacurring payments up OR $80 for entire year.

It’s not that difficult man. IRS basically lays it out for you. Currently in 2022 the irs standard mileage rate indicates it cost about 62.5 cents per mile to operate a vehicle.
It seems to me you are more of a quantity over high end detailing if that makes sense. Not sure I hope this doesn't come off as offensive but would you not run something like a higher end detailing business over a quantity type business?

High end detailing is a lot more exhaustive in terms of resources and also more time consuming and demanding as the customer spends significantly more, express is better at least if you’re starting out like me I usually spend no more than 2-3 hours on full details but of course I’m not pulling out seats or polishing. It’s definitely easier to go with the quantity model as the target customer tends to have lower demands or expectations and there is a higher demographic for people looking for a mobile simple detail as opposed to someone looking for a completely spotless vehicle
Haha no offense. Just sharing information. There's no such thing as a business that doesn't go for volume. Why does it have to turn into quantity over quality just because someone can handle a higher workload than you?

I take my daughter to an indoor play place. I pay them $100 and I get a card with 10 punches. What about setting up something like this for the maintenance plans. If they want you to come 4 times a month then you give them a card with 4 punch squares. If they get three services and then skip the 4th then they would still have 1 punch available to use.
Yup I agree. Most people who schedule you regularly tend to be the people who have disaster cars. I charge per visit. Price on the condition. The car can be normal one visit and next week can be very dirty because they have a set price and they don't care.and you will spend more time and material.
I make it simple for me. I charge 35 for a 1 time wash and Vac. If they are on a schedule I'll charge them 30 per vehicle and count how many I did on the last wash of the month
Bro you are selling youself short. Unless you do a wash and vac in an hour or less. Still $30-35 is too low for all the work and effort you are putting in. I'l m saying this to encourage you and not discourage. You are worth more. Go get that money my dude

As everyone else said, you're def. Selling yourself short. I'm just starting myself, and I'm doing half price for the month of April since it's my first month in business and I'm trying to build my portfolio.
I feel like it’s just something you have to push through. Practice on your own/families/friends cars. Grow to love it then take the training wheels off and get some money. start at ur own garage, its crazy cos my girlfriends grandpa wanted me to give him a wash wax n vacuum n i said i didnt have water supply or electricity so n he said just to go over n use his, i felt weird so i only charged $30 for him letting me use his things but starting at ur garage is amazing to start, till u save money n get the hang of how things work in ur favor n the equipment u want
I personally would only do a subscription at that point, and cut them a deal based on how many vehicles you were servicing. Like if I’m coming out four times a month, once a week. I’m gonna charge you a set price for that monthly subscription. If you decide that you don’t need me one week, that’s your loss.

You need to know how much it cost u to operate per car. Time and distance is a huge factor.
