    Very beautiful boat -- very "Bat Cat" looking. However, I couldn't imagine doing a crossing of either Atlantic or Pacific on that unprotected Fly-bridge. No discussion of systems -- engines, generator, water maker, access to mechanicals, no solar, AC/Heat, plumbing? Wiley not your best review, IMO -- you seem to be walking around a museum, rather than selling the complete package/systems.

    I know NOTHING about boats. But from this walk through it look like the boat (cat) could only be piloted from the fly bridge. So on rough seas crossing the pacific at night in the rain it looked like you would be totally exposed to the elements. Plus being up that high you would really get thrown around by the waves. That's what I took away from this video. The back platform lowering down was super cool.

    You use carbon fiber for stiffness. Contrary to popular belief fiberglass is stronger than carbon fiber but it flexes more. it is a shame s2 glass sells at such a premium. i think that is due to military and aerospace usage for radar domes.

    Cruising boat? Sit out in the weather on the bridge deck day and night. Where is the inside helm? Designers should take a trip on a boat, before designing useless shit.

  • @MrJhchrist
    @MrJhchrist 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Everybody complaining about helm exposure, yeah OK, ancient debate. But no helm seats at all? Not even a leaning post unless you want to lean on a hydraulic winch? What a super strange setup!

  • @jimbeephoto
    @jimbeephoto 5 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    Why don’t you ever show the engine room? I guess the engines take are of themselves. No need to let us know how much room we get for maintenance, is there a generator or water maker? Also are there screens on those gigantic windows. I also wonder about the port steps cutting into the walking area, walking forward around the island .

    • @jonjonjrfrmcali
      @jonjonjrfrmcali 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      David Seal, who is a highly successful yacht broker and YT'r said that smart brokers purposely avoid showing engine rooms, crew quarters and purchase prices and for good reason. They know fully well that they can generate more interest (inquiries and ultimately Sales) from 'qualified customers' if they firstly fall in love with the boat. They do this by just focusing on the wow factors rather than cloud judgement with too much technical information. This is why the walkthoughs, from their standpoint, are more like teasers than informational. Is it annoying? Of course it is. But it works. Wiley once posted a video basically trashing trimarans and that they are POS but here he changes his tune. It's really about the money.

    As stated, the "freezer"bridge makes this a high end coastal cruiser. It's a beautiful boat but with their manufacturing skills, the inverse design could be more pronounced for additional cabin space, a "double-decker" making the fly bridge a Dodger and better storage with its center boards would make this a dream blue water cruiser.
    It's always fun to dream. Also, it's better to have actual boaters do the reviews. Salespeople just want to make every design feature seem like it's perfect.

    • @deankruse2891
      @deankruse2891 ปีที่แล้ว

      Considering sailors cross oceans in 25 foot boats, this boat has more space than any sailor would ever need. Stop adding unnecessary weight to sailboats. If you want a floating condo, buy a powerboat

  • @markmuller8829

    Technically, it's a longeron not a bowsprit. In reviewing this cat it would've been informative to talk more about the design difference of the stiff carbon longeron replacing a conventional forward cross beam and bowsprit, since it's a pretty big difference to the usual cat setup....

    • @pred7949

    Buy a Sunreef or Lagoon 60, this boat is junk. It looks good but it’s out of place all over the boat, a 60 cat should have at least 4 cabins below with 4 queen berths minimum. And on one side it should have a crew bunk. So yes it looks beautiful but it’s lacking in crew space and berth size.

      @@catamarancentral I used to be a fan of oyster yachts until I found out they only go 9 knots. Imo that’s too slow even if it looks beautiful inside, like they do. I’m now a fan of Outremer catamaran, they can reach speeds of 30+ knots in a good wind but mostly average around 23-25, (So forget what I said about Sunreef and Lagoon) my latest fancy is the 55. Then the Excel 15. This boat looks nice but they have a ways to go with it, but I like what they’ve done so far, it looks like future models will function better.

  • @okcgravity
    @okcgravity 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Alot of people commenting on the zero protection on the flybridge. Is the model on the coffee table not a model of this boat? I don't have the best eye but it looks pretty similar to me. And you can see the model with a roof over its flybridge. Maybe its not the biggest or best cover, but it looks like it would work. Unless for some reason that model is of a completely different boat.

    I would only need about 2.5KW of solar... batteries to match (yikes, that's money!), a few wind generators and maybe two hydro generators.

    Not so sure this layout is right. It looks good on paper I bet. The concept of open spaces and those sliding windows and the rear access to the salon is wonderful, but that built-in sofa idea has to go OR you need more free standing furniture. Even though the boat only sleeps eight, you need dinning for 12 and seating for 24. That would be accomplished by pushing the entire galley forward with the NAV station to the side. .....and why you might ask? Because the party ALWAYS ends up on the Cat.

    Too bad they haven’t caught on to S-glass fabric yet. Much of the benefit of typical carbon fiber fabric but with better modulus and far less issues with metal corrosion, and lighter with better characteristics than E-glass across the board.

    • @clintonjohns6365
      @clintonjohns6365 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Crazy , E Glass originates from Electrical Glass not actually for composites , S glass is Structural and better flexural modulus curve , especially at UTS...................... Similar with Vinyl Ester vs Epoxy. Too much hype and not enough Engineering. Dont post-cure Epoxy and could be worse off than a Polyester

Large galley but where is the convivial crowd going to sit & eat? Have to wait until a forward Galley model gets launched - then I'll be looking at the ultimate machine. Waited long enough to view this beautiful thing as is, can wait a bit more for the best to come.... • @jaysparc
      @jaysparc 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For those that are curious E-glass is NOT a fancy way of saying fiberglass. It refers to the use of epoxy for the lamination of materials instead of Polyester resin, which is also used when building boats. The choice of epoxy is probably related to the fact that you cannot use polyester with carbon fiber.
      Maybe you should stick to drinking beers, eating wings and shooting stuff.

    Without looking or getting to the end I'm going to guess the price at 1.5 million euros.

      @@catamarancentral nothing against the video, or the walkthrough commentaries; nevertheless very informative and entertaining... IDK whether it's in the same pricerange, but I much prefer the Xquisite X5

    Wiley! Nice tour...nice boat. Love the sliding motorized windows. Hopefully when the motor or other component fails, there's a way to get it closed manually. Also, it would be cool if that glass was controlled by various voltages to create a lighter or darker tint. What really stood out to me is the openness of the front off those tramps. That's a place you'd always want to be clipped in. Seems very easy to fall overboard! Also, do any of the windows open down below. Seems there's no fresh air inlet much like in the saloon. Any thoughts? PEACE OUT!
