    Can only assume there are storage lockers under the massive seating on the flybridge. It's a party boat for sure, cleaning that much space would be a full time nightmare.

    Beautiful boat but I would lay it out differently. This boat set up is really for rich party crowd (high end charter) and not family blue water cruising.

      It's a charter boat. Literally made for high end parties. It's like saying a sportscar would be better with 4 doors... or you could buy a sedan.

      It has too many settees and sofas, everywhere you look. It could use a few more table and desk areas. I really don't understand that center forward "lounge" L-shaped sofa just inside the door. Why is that there? It's like the designer was just trying to fill up space but couldn't think of anything so they put another sofa. Aren't there already countless other areas where you can lounge too? Gorgeous boat though.

    • @timbowilderbeeste8709
      @timbowilderbeeste8709 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rogsolaris7411 I wouldn't want to be in rough seas with water and spray coming in towards that glass door and outside seating. It looks like a natural water trap. That sliding door facing forward is far and away the most troubling aspect to the design for me.
      While cats are stable under most circumstances and have a lot of benefits, the most annoying aspect (and this comes from someone who worked on one) is the constant loud slap of water as the chop and wave action pass between the twin hulls and rise up to strike the underside. Under normal circumstances you don't hear it, but when the weather get rougher and the boat plows through heavier seas it becomes a constant.

    I never thought there could be such a thing as TOO BIG A SAIL BOAT, but this might be the case. Lot of wasted space in the salon. No helm protection was another poor design. Night watch in rough seas, no thanks. Should have a dumb waiter from the galley to the dining area. The galley was awesome, the bedrooms and bathrooms were beautiful.

      Oğuzhan GÜNDÜZ - Cats sail easily, cost less to operate, and are very stable at sea. Because of their shallow draft, you can enter many areas that normal boats cannot such as tidal waters around islands. While not perfect, there is a reason they are popular. You can cook, dine, relax easily while on any other boats you would have difficulty doing so. Cats make for a stable and relaxed trip.

    Do not like the fly bridge and hard top, I do like the faux teak decks and bulwarks, but those fly bridges and hard top dodgers really don't do any catamaran justice, no cats are what you would call "pretty boats" just by their nature, this benneteau is just downright ugly, at 77' she probably has a beam of close to 28+'. I'm guessing she won't point higher than 60°, compared to say a Gozzard, Sparkman and Stevens, Herreshoff designed clipper bow long keel cutter of any size Bayfield 32' being a case in point. Downwind boat for half sailors, may as well just de rig it and you've got a motor cat like a sunreef.
    At well over 2 bar $$ I'd take 3 Oysters, or 3 Hallberg Rassys, maybe 3 discovery monohulls any day.
    Rich man's dick size increaser, not a sailors boat

      Did you get the answer?

    • @realulli
      @realulli ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not Wiley, but I'd guess smaller is better for a couple. I'd bring along someone for the crossing (there's websites out there for finding people for this), then the size becomes much more manageable. The biggest problem is not so much the size of the boat, it's the fatigue when you're only two people doing all the tasks for 24/7 sailing. When you're at your destination, you should be able to handle everything below 60 feet. The biggest problem I see is keeping such a monster tidy.
      (Check out the channel Cat Greatcircle, they are a Dutch couple who bought an Outremer 55 and are sailing it around the world. They usually have some friend(s) on board, I think not so much because they can't cope but because having someone to share the load makes it much more enjoyable and easier. You might want to talk to them about their experiences.)

    Great video and boat. But the Gunboat 66 has my heart. A couple of years before I buy a cat. I need to get some powerball tickets today.

    I've viewed many different cats, and conventional boats and this one doesn't impress as much as it should. I think this the first boat review which has no TV. It's such a useful item for relaxing, videos, TV etc, most boats have a TV in every cabin as well as the Saloon.
    Sorry to say the review did not impress, you should have a look at Aquaholic reviews. You could learn a lot from him.

    Definitely a charter only boat. The lack of staterooms is noticeable and I do not care for the downstairs galley. Whether cooking by crew or family, there is definitely entertainment in watching a chef, or an experienced family member. Besides, charter crews/guests are going to spend as much time as possible outside. Just my take.

    Amazing cruiser but how does it handle in rough seas with gusting winds 60-80 or even 100 knots? Would this thing flip over with its high center of gravity?

    Wow! My family live on a Lagoon 55, I thought that was nice and now I see this... haha. We live around New Zealand, with a place in Nelson where my Mum is and it is great the way we get to go around New Zealand, but we are new to sailing and we have not left New Zealand on the boat yet. I am a 14 year old English boy (in other words, a human you would least expect to do this) and I would like to do property investment and management (same as my parents), I don't like swimming and rough seas. All of this but I absolutely love sailing a lagoon 55 and I may beg my parents for us to have a look at this wonderful Lagoon 77. I am now addicted to boats.
