I have a 2006 ford five hundred let me start with the engine very powerful and transmission very smooth not to mention the suspension like driving on air suspension
If I recall, wasn’t the Ford Five Hundred one of the first Fords with a CVT? I think that’s definitely the main reason for the lack of performance. I believe when they updated the car, and changed the name back to Taurus, the CVT was replaced with an Automatic.
How would a CVT yield worse performance than an ordinary automatic? Did they just not tune it properly to operate the engine in its powerband during acceleration?
Considering I just bought a Montego with 150K-ish miles for 2 grand out the door it depends on the spec, I got an AWD with the ZF CVT, runs great needs some work done but the AWD is nice in the winter since DOT won't plow unless absolutely necessary
A lot of the time with fuel injection spraying around the intake doesn’t work very well because the computer just compensates and the engine speed doesn’t change.
The glue holding down the leather over the glove/dash box has broke down from the sun thru the windshield on it. It needs to be pulled off, reglued, installed back.
@@Johnny53kgb-nsa Better than Nissan/Infiniti products with their melting dash problem, they have melted dashboards after only 5 years while on these cars it takes 15+ years on average
@@1234ismyname Not enough of a blow given how many new ones I see driving around, there ain't a Nissan dealer within 30 miles of where I live so they drive a long ways to buy a car when there's dealers for literally every other brand within 20 miles, the local Chrysler dealer is waiting for a good time to turn in its dealership allotment and move to Toyota though their used lot is chock full of nearly new Toyota and Lexus products as well as Honda and Acura
I have a 2006 Ford A 113000 miles It is my daily I have drove that car all the way across America and back it now has a 183000 miles and The only money I put into it is normal wear and tear brakes rotors tires oil change and a passenger side $10 ball joint love this car

themaritimegirl if you’ve ever driven a CVT, particularly older ones. You’d know they aren’t the most lively tuned transmission type.
The AWD has a CVT, the FWD has a 6 speed automatic.
yes, and then they proceeded to destroy the competition in power numbers with the 2008-9 Taurus’s, i guess they learned from their mistakes

You were ripped off, since 2000 grand = 2 million dollars. That's a bit much, IMHO.

U should change the front wheel bearing its all 1 piece and it just bolts on
