You should do a boot closet or state of the collection video.

I dream of a day they release a plain toe brass boot. It would create one heck of an option for people.

I too love my Brass boots. I have them in natural chrome excel. QC is stellar. 96 is quite a collection! I'm looking forward to the Parkhurst video. That's another brand that interests me.

I am glad to hear similar experience that the toe box is not exactly wide, and the arch support is also not outstanding. I purchased two pairs of GS in the Leo last, and they unfortunately just don't fit me too well because of the toe box and heel slip. I am glad that they fit you well!

On sizing, I would suggest that people try different sizes to find the right ones for you. Each person’s feet are different and I haven’t found an easy way to get the right size for me. My brannock size is 13D, but I can wear a 12D in a lot of the heritage style service boots, because my instep is pretty low. For the Brass boot, the 12D felt too narrow, and I wound up with an 11.5E. They fit perfectly. So, keep trying until you get a good fit.

i just picked up this boot very lightly worn on ebay. very nice boot, the earth waxy commander looks even better in person lol. i'm also an 8 in boots. has roomy toe box, snug on the sides, still got to break it in. tongue is a bit loose. built like a tank

I purchased these after watching a few reviews, mainly yours. After wearing them for a year, I can say your impressions and thoughts are spot on.
I did have the tongue sliding on the left boot only but after tugging it every time I lace, it has now folded over.
These boots are built like tanks and are heavy also. I feel like I can go anywhere in them!

Came across your channel by happenstance. I like you how start your clips with a land acknowledgement. Still trying to understand how someone could have so many high quality boots.

Always appreciate the perspective of value also meaning how something makes you feel. A pair of boots may be made and fit perfectly and cost-per-wear could be very low, but if they don't click with you that's not a good value.

Great review 👍🏼. I just learned from this video that Grant Stone is a Michigan based company. I'm in Michigan! This makes me more interested in these boots. I understand that they're manufactured in China but, the manufacturing process seems to be very high end. Thanks again for another great review

I’m working on down sizing STILL. I have a hard time getting rid of boots even if I’ve one then twice in three years because I don’t often impulse buy. I bought them because I truly like them, but maybe my style or needs change and I don’t reach of them as much

I would love to see a long term review of some boots in the Rambler leather. I know that narrows down the list to basically Truman Boot Company, but my own Truman's in Noble Ink Rambler are my mosr used and favorite boots i own, and i would love to seehow others feel about Truman as a brand, amd of their construction and leather selection.

Many thanks as always! I think I'm finally absorbing the important issue of moving a size or 1/2 size down. This part has plagued me for a while with a number of service boot companies and the fact that I wear a wide. For example, I got a pair of Brass Boots but they were simply too big because I did not heed your words!!

I love your videos. Your enthusiasm really shines through in every video and I love that.
I have the same model boot in Natural CXL. I agree with you on the arch support, but they are super comfortable and a sturdy winter boot.
That said, I think the Diesel is my perfect boot. I was lucky enough to buy a pair in Essex Tan in a sale and they are the most comfortable boots I own.

Appreciate you revealing your favorites (in the beginning intro), as this has been something I have wanted to ask you for some time now…having such an extensive collection must make it hard to choose a “best”…and although it might not be fair, if you were to only choose one pair do you have a ‘Platonic ideal’? Do you think this favorite pair will change over time? Love the videos! You assess so many factors (construction, history, comfort, use) with passion, fairness, and discernment.

    • @Bootlosophy
      @Bootlosophy  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

I think my “Platonic Ideal” would be a clean lines service boot. MPs, Viberg and Parkhurst are probably in the mix.

  • @tacline2

I think one of the most important things you said, Teik, is about how value is also about emotion. If you feel good in a pair of boots, and you feel like you look good, then you have some money well spent, as far as i am concerned. You could have the most expensive pair of boots ever made, but if you feel like a clown wearing them then what was the point of spending all that money? Buy what you like, and wear what makes you feel good.

Great re-review Teik! Appreciate your details and follow up. I was just able to find a pair of Brass boots on EBay in black cxl. I was going to get the Earth version but the deal was too great to pass up so pulled the trigger. They arrived today and they are great, excited for it to get cold now. They are exact same size as my diesels and fit perfect just like you said. Does this give me an excuse to get something else in waxed commander?😏

If only Grant Stone went up to a size 14! Definitely a cool boot, but nothing compares to the Nicks Moc Toe in my book.

Try grabbing a wide size. They increase the length with width, so you may be able to get away with a 13E or something.

19:50 ... the arch support might not be there but most ppl don't need it anyways. If it had arch support most ppl wouldn't buy it as they don't need it. If You do have flat feet... well get orthodontics. Arch support on healthy feet can ruin your feet.

Aren`t they too heavy, comparing for example to AE Higgins Mill?
I've been thinking about Brass boots for a long time, but I'm afraid they'll be too heavy. I have both Diesel and Edward boots which are also quite heavy. I am 172 cm / 72 kg, so probably similar to you..
