Super! So the best times to walk are 7:00 a.m. to 10:a.m. , and 4:00p.m. to sunset. A short brisk walk post lunch is good. Walking as an exercise is best avoided early morning, betweem 11:00 a.m. to 4:00p.m. and post sun-set. 8000 to 10000 steps is a super distance/exrcise to aim for. Keeping in mind our age and physical ability , I suppose!

Wonderful advice. I do one hour walking between 10-11 (for vitamin D) and another one hour before sun set. I also do half hour walk after my dinner around my house. I do a total 20,000 steps. I am 65 years old. My diabetic has disappeared.

You will always get Vitamin D during UVB rays. It varies country to country. Here in Dubai it is 10.00 AM to 3.00 PM. It is almost same in India as well. Other timings for Vitamin D production is totally waste.

I think for this to be applicable to people around the world, it should be summarised as follows:
    - walk when the sun is up but aim for when it's not the hottest ie early morning or late evening
    - walk in least polluted areas
    - light walks after meals

After reading some of the comments iam posting my feelings that it may be helpful for some one. According to your timing you can walk but by knowing timing u can get more benefits , early morning before sunrise u can do yoga/ Dyana/ pranayamam. After sunrise when walk or do any exercises in sun u get Vitamin-D which really important for our whole body functioning , at the same time because of sun we can get sweat which removes bad from our body , we can burn more calories easily for those who want fat reduction .

      TIP# 1 is a total CRAP.
So basically the most precious time of the day when one should be outdoor exercising or doing Pranayama is wrong time as per mam..... Only thing I would say here is to keep advice # 1 at bay !!!
Air before sunrise (during bramhmuhrta) is supercharged with a very high pranic force and exercise during this time can take health to a next level as many early morning risers would say that......In fact, this highly charged air in Bramha-Muhurta can transcend one's physical/ mental & spiritual life in a multifold manner !!!

Industries release harmful wastage pollutants early in the morning. No matter what city it is definitely air pollution is high, it's not best early in the morning. After 6 it's not a problem. And for pranayam, yoga and gym u can do it even early in the morning. It's not at all a issue .. Ayurvedic preferred timings in those days is different bcoz the nature is different.
