    Today I am adding track lighting to my garage. The reason we chose that is so I can aim the lights wherever I need them. For the price of calling in an electrician to re-wire this garage I can show you how to do it yourself. If you want to add some a lot of extra light to your garage or home , track lighting is a good option. Track lighting is flexible in many ways. You can choose a wide variety of colors and styles both for the track and for the light fixtures. Once the track is installed, power runs throughout the entire track so you can slide your light fixtures anywhere you want on the track and still have power. This allows you to move the fixtures anywhere you want on the track to highlight different parts of the room where it’s installed. Tracks come in varying lengths but they can be cut to fit any area that you desire to install the system.

    Looks great, and with a brighter bulb installed that’s all the light you need. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxWF88GpljEn-0o34vtLFazEQ5h5Q33SjU As far as ease of installation- this was my first ceiling fan and it took about 3 hours because I had no idea what I was doing and also it’s helpful to have a second set of hands and a magnetic drill bit. Works great.

      I have a question. A broken faucet flooded through my kitchen ceiling and blew out my old light fixture, so I'm replacing it. I took the old light fixture off and put in the power feed. I'm waiting to install the rest of the track because i need to repaint my kitchen ceiling but i wanted to make sure the power feed wasn't going to shoot sparks or anything crazy, so i flipped the breaker back on and everything was fine, and then i flipped the light switch, but this immediately triggered the breaker box. I'm not sure if this is just because I only have the Power feed installed without a track connected to it, or if I i have a problem with how i installed the power feed. The only thing i had to do that was different than your video is my outlet box didn't have a ground wire so i connected the ground to a screw in the outlet box. Could that be the problem?

    This was the best tutorial I found for track lights. Thanks so much! Would you have any advice on installing track lights in a room that already has recessed lights in a way that the two can be controlled separately? Meaning I can turn off/on the recessed lights independently of the track lights.

    So what if you wanted the light to go the other direction? Ie rotate 90* this is the problem I’m running into.

    I'm replacing an old track lighting but I don't have a ground wire coming out of the ceiling?

    • @DIYProjectGuys
      @DIYProjectGuys  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You have an older house. Just connect the ground wire to one of the metal screws on the metal box and you should be fine.

    Few questions for you. First can you cut down the track to a specific length? Second, do you believe the build quality is good enough for an out door patio application?

    • @DIYProjectGuys
      @DIYProjectGuys  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Frank. Yes, you can cut the tracks down to whatever size you want. Thats what I loved about this system. It should work find outside as long as the patio is covered and not a pergola.

    Literally, the only reason I came here was to see how you install those bloody things, and in that moment, your camera was off the subject.

    Oh well, other than that great job, thank you
