First time with my 18 8.0 this morning. Flat water paddle up is SO nice! So far, super impressed with the stability for something that looks like a toothpick. Very smooth when touching down and efficient when paddling not on foil. Maybe 7'6 would have been ok for 80kg but I was a little worried about the width. After that, it will be impossible to go back to wider boards. Great quality, looks awesome, very good hull design for early, smooth release and very fairly priced. Well done guys. Added bonus, you see the word Casey when you paddle, so you go faster, just like stripes on a car ;). Time to reduce foil size on that missile! And sell all the other boards to make room for the carver 5.10 too. Thank you, very happy paddler here! PS: paid RRP for the board

Feeling good to have gone 8’8” 26” 150L still it’s almost impossible to paddle in the flat. I’m 95kg kitted. So yes, length is good. I’m not even ready for coaching while only lasting 20 seconds right now.

Always tips then can be shared through coaching. You might need the 8’6x25 kitted out with a foil drive to get you started

@@jamescasey7393 that’s exactly what local bro Chuck Glynn suggested. Once I’ve got some $$$, I’m getting a lesson and bolting up one of his demo V2 units. Thanks Jimmy.

Nice! Good to see all the DW board options now days. The volume seems off to me. The 7’6” by 18” is about right. But, longer and or wider is like 10-15L too much per each category in my opinion. Big heavy riders would probably go long and wide, so the 130-140+ should be in those sizes. Why would you have a 7’ board with 130L? IDK. Seems a bit off to me.

Decent observation for most riders but we are continually tweaking them and trying to provide options for all riders including those over 90kg. This is a sport for all weights not just light weights. Add 35-45% to your body weight (as a beginner) and you’ll take the extra volume. For the majority of the market 70-85kg riders the bigger wider boards volume is probably too much and not necessary but that’s why there are options you can go narrower with less volume or shorter with less volume.

@@jamescasey7393 I say 40% over your wet weight and add 10 liters every 10 years over 50. 😆😆😆

We’ve found litres can work against you too. Of you’re under 70kg and using a board over 150L it can be too corky and make it less stable
