I don't think anyone realizes how utterly amazing Tuomas really is. I've believed Yanni was one of the best big orchestration creators...but Tuomas is next level better than Yanni, IMHO.

i had been looking for something like this by Mr Tuomas Holopainen the pictures are very cool beautiful collage of images and sound again just as awesome as the works that adorn the world mini nature documentary even though i didn't think there was anything mini about it and yes he should get some big recognition for work of this quality. all the pictures of the band members so elegant and stunning love how some album music was incorporated here and knew just how to do it wow what another masterwork of compositional genius. these sounds like the horns drums that sound like war drums the way he put this together. Its not boring to hear or listen to i mean holy smokes so crisp clean as far as taking finnish heavy metal and giving the rhythms sections with whatever color accents and this level of composition is top tier professional

Indeed one of the most obvious musical geniuses of our time...IMHO our descendants will be listening to Nightwish and Tuomas far after most of today's popular music is long forgotten.VIa Tuomas! Viva Nightwish! Viva all great music in whatever form or style! Tuomas is indeed a genius. Love his work. Ennio Morricone, I reckon, also loved/would have loved Tuomas's work. I have seen both now in real life (Ennio just shortly before he passed). I think Tuomas is the best composer in metal and other genres of popular music. Jari Mäenpää comes very close, but there's just something magical in Tuomas' songs: it's like you want to smile and burst into tears at the same time. I also love how Nightwish has these more poppy, catchy songs like Elan, but at the same time they also have Ghost Love Score and such. The reason I don't call him the best composer alive is the fact that classical and jazz music are different entities, it's not fruitful to compare him to Debussy or Steve Reich
Tuomas is a gift to the world. It is sad that as much love as people have for him, his genius will likely not be truly understood in our lifetimes. For those lucky enough to see it in real time, we know we are witnessing something special. Not just Nightwish though. Read the King killer Chronicles and then listen to Auri (I think that is his best work personally)

He´s one of the greatest, this is more accurate. Basil Poledouris, Hans Zimmer, or James Horner, to name a few, are really great composers.
