    So I have a video request that I think could help educate a lot of people out there. Have you noticed the lack of tutorials on how to do advanced grading in CLO? And by advanced I mean grading more than just a rectangle but a complex garment like a tailored shirt or pants. I have had one client that needed grading (must admit I am not the best at grading) but it went pretty smoothly because it was a very simple jersey dress. But I had a recent project that required grading men's shorts using their measurement chart in the tech pack. The result was internal lines going astray and things that couldn't be fixed on individual sizes. I even consulted with two pattern experts on my team and they said they use Optitex for grading, never CLO. So I am curious, what is the best way to grade complex garments in CLO? How do you fix weird outcomes on individual sizes like errors in the shape and internal lines misplacement? What are the best methods to translate the grade rules from a tech pack to a complex garment in CLO?

    • @CLO3D
      @CLO3D  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Understanding how to best use Grading in CLO takes knowledge of how to to Grade IRL. Then based on the garment itself, there are different approaches. CLO grading especially is a starting point and success depends on the knowledge of the user.

    This video mentioned importing DXF with RUL file. Does the CLO website offer these files to download?

    • @CLO3D
      @CLO3D  ปีที่แล้ว

      RUL files are not universal. How garments get graded depends on many factors including the type of garment, the size range or gender, for starters. Grading is an art to itself and this is something that would need to be learned outside of CLO.

    Hello! Thank you for the tutorial. I have a question: if my base is M (usually how I design), and I want to create grading patterns how small and bigger sizes, how do I create the small ones? I am referring to the smaller sizes, smaller than the base size? Is the process the same, or do I have to do something different?

    • @CLO3D

      Hi There. Correct the process is the same. Many people start with a base size (6 or Medium) and then create the larger and smaller sizes from there :)

    How accurate is the autograding in production? Is Clo enough or another software is needed in order to have accurancy?

    • @CLO3D
      @CLO3D  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      CLO Patterns are very accurate to the hundredth of a decimal placement. What you see/measure and approve in CLO is the same pattern shape will export and print out. It is still up to the user to check that grading result after using auto grading or manual grading is appropriate for the size growth/decrease they are looking for.

      The actual process of grading is not standard. Each company and each garment is done a bit differently. The Designer and/or Tech Designer need to establish the grading rule that is applied. This video gives you tools to begin the grading process. You must have a grading rule to continue.

    • @CLO3D
      @CLO3D  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi There. Currently you can export a style with different sized from the Print Layout Mode. In the Nest Settings Property Editor you can choose number of garments and set to 1 of each. Please note this will lay out one of each and not nest them on top of one another.
      Currently in CLO you cannot nest like a paper patter you may purchase from a store. We do hope to add this in the future. Instead if you are looking to nest like this you would need to export each one one at a time then bring them into a program like Ai and stack them there.
      Hope this helps

      Using the Auto Grading function is a starting point for changing your pattern. You should expect that the pattern itself may need to be slightly edited after using this function. Also, if you have a complex pattern, you might see some unexpected results.
