This is super helpful; I was having a hard time sorting out the differences between the fenix 6 models, but you've done a great job laying it all out clearly!
Can't seem to get it to auto detect activities such as walking or running without starting am activity. Any ideas of its supported? Can't find in online manual. Thanks

@@GaugingGadgets Thank you. I won't be buying it then. I've also ran courses where it's difficult to find the path and have followed others only to get lost as a group. So I prefer loading it off the app onto the watch. Plus I'm 5'3" so my wrists aren't like Popeye's.
I understand that the Pro model is the only one with a downloadable music capacity. Does this mean you pay more for Sapphire and Solar models and get less? Or, are the Sapphire and Solar models also 'Pro'?

@@GaugingGadgets thanks! You are definitely broke down the these watches like no other reviewer! I was so confused... I felt like I was in university watching a great prof doing an amazing job!
Although rather expensive, i got the 6x sapphire and love it. Dont use many of the features but im glad i chose this one as i use a ravpower 20k milliamp solar battery bank to charge it and my s8. Very informative video about the different models
A couple of years ago, I chose the Fenix 5 (14 days smartwatch, 24 h GPS) over the Fenix 5x (12 days smartwatch, 20 h GPS) because of battery capacity. Early on, I was able to squeeze 25 days out of my Fenix 5 in smartwatch mode -- typically now is ca. 2 weeks. New Fenix 6 (14 days smartwatch, 36 h GPS) has been outpaced by the 6x (21 days, 60 h GPS). My big *questions* are on the (i) display crispness (is it easier to read the screen on a 6 series with sapphire glass vs. a 5 series with sapphire glass?), (ii) is it possible to select different font sizes for, say, day of the week (the standard size on the 5 is somewhat small for dimming eyes...), and (iii) is there any gain in battery life if I turn off the music player and Garmin Pay?
Could you explain how “Max Battery GPS” mode on the 6X Pro Solar will affect Navigation accuracy? Garmin rates the battery life in this mode at 128 hours. Thank you.
Glad the video helped you! You can still wear the larger size, it just might be slight uncomfortable or look too large. What makes you want the 6x over the smaller sizes?
Very very good job on this video, its really helping video, yet am still confuse about getting the 6 or wait for the 7, do you think the screen will be a touchscreen or they will keep the old school buttons
@@jonathanrichardson7043 I have a 7” / 180mm wrist and the pro fits perfectly with the size of the face👍🏻 great watch if u can get hold of one that has a black screen instead of the blue
Hello, sir thank you for amazing videos I've learned a lot from them I have one question I used to wear my watch Fenix 6 pro on my right wrist now I am wearing it on my left wrist, but I can't find anywhere to change it in strength section is there anything I can do I have no idea??? Many thanks, Farzad
Just a comment between the 6S and 6 - I bought two 6S’s, one white, one black, for me and my wife. I got the 6S for myself because I typically like a smaller watch, my largest watch is 44mm. The band that the 6S comes with is too short for my wrist, which is about 7.25”’in diameter (or so...but no more than 7.5”) I can buckle the band, but only way at the end. I returned that watch and got a standard 6 (47mm) and the band is much longer. I can buckle it normally in the center of the adjustment range. I am not a large person, but it seems the 6S is more for females than males, but I guess if they actually advertise that aspect, they’ll get into trouble these days...😕
More than half of the Fenix 6 line production has a defective screen with a washed out bluish low contrast screen. That includes the Sapphire. The only one worth getting is the Delta Tactix.
I got a good laugh when you said you and your wife's wrist diameters were 7.5" & 6.2" XD I know you meant circumference, but still I'm imagine two people with ridiculous arms
I believe that style is not titanium, as the model name only states it is a black DLC. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you for watching!
My wrist is 6.2 inches (like your wife's) and was thinking to get the 6X, but I now know that it would look huge on my wrist. I don't want to get the 6S because of the battery life :(

I hear you there. I've heard they give inventory priority to stores over their own website. I hope to get the Vivoactive 4 before the end of the year 😆
That bites. Hope you can get the Vivoactive soon. I have 2 jobs so I justified my spending an exorbitant amount on this watch. I have always wanted the Fenix, but it was always so big so that is why I didn’t get it. I got the Vivoactive 2 (with the square face), but it’s on the lower end price point, so I am glad that I splurged on the Fenix 6S.
Why you pick 6 sapphire that cost 799 and you neglect the 6X pro which is bigger and cheaper with 749 and have the same stuff So why the difference between the prices?

I would buy a Garmin watch if it weren’t for 3 major deal breakers which I just can’t get over no matter how hard I try: 1) Why does Garmin make it so complicated with so many versions OF THE SAME MODEL. It is confusing. Is there truly a difference or is it just a way to get you to spend more? I believe it is the latter which in itself alone is a turn-off. 2) When I look at the competition, I can’t help but conclude that their watches (products in general) are overpriced by about $100. 3) I have owned several of their products (cycle computers and power pedals) and their firmware/software technology has proven to be consistently buggy and not that user friendly.
