    Just got the 6x pro solar, I love it, I'm a big watch guy and the battery life is a plus for me. I almost settled with a Galaxy 4 Classic but I prefer the size and durability of a Garmin. It's my first Garmin product and couldn't be happier. It's worth every dollar :)

    The Solar is the way to go if you are going to spend the money anyway, if you like big watches or are coming from a Gshock. However, the 6 series isnt easy to sleep with if you like the sleep tracking. 245, Venu, Vivoactive4, and even the 945 feel better at night. Still, I prefer the Solar

    Great review! But my F5+ has already so many features I don't need or use, why pay more for more things I don't use? E.g. popularity routing leads me along main roads although I live in the woods, or the navigation, which I used only to try it out. What I need is navigation along a pre-defined track, the maps, accurate GPS and flawless connection to the sensors, the rest is nice or even useless!

    I'm an Ulta marathon runner & a GB running coach I'm running with a garmin 945 it's great but I'm looking at the garmin fenix 6x pro or the solar one, do both of these have exactly the same features, I understand that the garmin solar one would last longer on battery life. Are they both fully waterproof in the rain, I need it for my running job & my own running group, I need the battery to last on a 70 mile Ultra Marathon in a very hot country. Without it melting to my arm lol 😆 I did find a high end garmin Adventure watch but its well priced at £1,400 pounds a mate has got it & it's just brilliant 👏

    Not sure if I should go for the 6 pro vs 6 solar pro. Don’t think the solar is quite worth it yet. Might get the 6 pro and sell if the next version has great solar...especially for ultras. Thanks again!

    I’de love to upgrade my Fenix, I’m holding out a bit longer. I’de really like to see an OLED screen. Looking at my watch I also want to enjoy the experience, the colours and sharpness of the Garmin watches are great for battery life, but just don’t look sharp, i’de rather have a Forerunner for running and battery life, and a Fenix with an OLED screen.

    • @JGoodwin
      @JGoodwin 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not likely. The Fenix brand is built around that Chroma display. Frankly, I hope they never give up performance for a more beautiful display as that's why I bought into the model series. I only want watches needs to be charged once a week or less.

    Random thought, I got the Fenix 6 over the 7 because 1. It was half off currently 2. Only way to get sapphire glass without solar. Fenix 6 sapphire is so much more clear than Fenix 7 sapphire solar because it doesn't have touch screen layer of glass and 🌞 layer of glass either . Put them side by side and the Fenix 7 solar sapphire looks foggy compared to Fenix 6 sapphire. Random thought complete.

    Does the solar feature actually draw much power ?

    Does the 945 come with the golf and ski resort maps built in? Do any other Garmin watches come with those maps built in or do they require a download?

    Do you think the Sapphire is worth the upcharge? I don't think I'll be running through the woods or anything crazy but not sure how well the basic screen will stand up.

    Hi Des. Nice to have choices. The 945 is the same price as the 6 regular, but also has Wifi, maps, and music, correct? It seems like the 945 would nullify the regular 6, unless a buyer just prefers the look of the 6.

      I think there could be a market for a more premium, but less feature rich 945. I like the features on my 945 but after being a fenix owner for so long it leaves a tiny bit to be desired on the attractiveness of the materials.

    • @johnmanley4528
      @johnmanley4528 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DesFit That is the difference right there. The 945 doesn't make any investment in looking good. It's downright ugly. But, you would get all the other features if that meant anything to you by going for the 945.

    Thank you for your videos, they are great!!
    Did you think to speak about WSD-F21HR - PRO TREK | CASIO? Is there already a video of yours? Maybe a comparison with the watches here presented can be an idea!
    Thanks!

    Hello, thanks for the video. Would you be able to test if the fenix series is a good enough with a reliable tracking for pool swimming.
    I tries forerunner 735xt but it was very unreliable and inaccurate.
    It would be amazing of you could test the swim tracking reliability for this range including pool and outdoor
    Thanks a million

    So the only difference between the 6X Pro and 6X Pro Solar is just the solar ? Thanks

    What about offline maps for hunting, is it reliable to use it while hunting in the mountains or the jungle?

    • @94SexyStang
      @94SexyStang 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      YES Gps/Maps work anywhere in world!!.....as I bought mine for hunting/Kayaking.......There's like 3 different satellites you can Choose from(they even have 1, that's for Subways, deep underground stuff)........You can download Terrain elevation style maps.....or some people have Full "google earth" style maps.....but I think that's "3rd party" software and FREE on the Fenix 5.......not sure if it's designed for Fenix 6 yet........I would imagine so.

    Des, have Garmin made any comment on what if any of these software features will come to the Fenix 5X+? With the exception of the different chipset and screen res it looks like the hardware should be there to support most of these features?

    Thank you for the quick review, always look forward to your videos. My biggest question with the F6 is how much of a sacrifice is getting the solar one which does not come with the sapphire glass. I understand the reasoning behind it but is the Power Glass is based on Corning Gorilla glass 3 like the non sapphire version is, how much more scratch resistant is the sapphire?
    I’ve had my 5x plus sapphire with DLC for a year and the glass is perfect with a lot of abusive use. How is the non sapphire F5 plus one?
    Thank you!

      I’ve crashed with my 945 a handful of times which uses Gorilla Glass and it’s been holding up, but I can’t deny that all the sapphire watches that I’ve had over the years are still perfect. The bezel is a different story, however...haha.

    I currently have the Fossil Gen 6 and I have been using it for fitness purposes. That said, I wanted to get another one solely for fitness and keep the fossil for more... formal occasions. While it works, half the time I'm actually worried that I'm going to bang it on things and scratch it. I've been looking at the Pro and it's been a while since it came out, do you think it's worth buying it now?
