@@holow3038 I think it’s more of testament to how talented myth are. Getting into hololive has always been hard. But knowing their past work, they’re truly an all star line up.

I believe kiara auditioned twice, she actually did audition for a jp slot back when gen 5 was about to roll out.

She's so considerate. I personally wouldn't be able to see that far past my own vanity and selfishness to even begin considering what other people would see or feel from the opposite side.
I mean hey, she might be short but far from short-sighted or short-tempered. One other thing I've always admired is how she deals with toxicity. It's not like she purposefully ignores obnoxious or potentially toxic comments either, she actually does call it out every time she notices it. But where I would've gotten angry and stuck with whoever that made me mad, she usually just laughs at it and moves on, not just quickly but also absolutely gracefully. She really knows how to have fun instead of letting things bother her. This is why watching her is always such fun! 😮

Well given that she has 2 songs that blew up all over Tik Tok, from Tik tokers just singing her song, yeah she knows how to get things viral, she knows how to make the algorithm work to her advantage and she worked it like that until she hit 4 millions subs. If she were to talk to a few of the other girls like Marine, Pekora, koyori, she could probably blow up her community and really ilk the superchats, she doesn't however, she's taking care of herself first
Gura is special in a lot of ways. I don't think I've ever really known anyone nearly as bad at math as she is, but nobody I've ever known sings nearly as well as she does either. Her meme powers are top-notch and she's able to communicate her emotions as well as connect with other people exceptionally well. Like some would put it, her 'emotional intelligence' is off the charts, though I don't know if calling it that would be correct since it seems like something perfectly natural to her rather than something that could be learned. Then again, there are other areas where she obviously falls behind compared to the average person, so it all balances out, and I think those qualities usually stand out first so most people would assume Gura isn't that smart as a first impression only to be surprised later on by how much of the opposite is true. Admittedly guilty of this, initially I took Gura for a simple minded fool whose only quality was being funny and cute, and eventually found out how much of a simple minded fool I was for making that fundamental mistake. This dorky shork keeps turning out to be a lot more interesting than I thought she was. She's like the ocean: flat and peaceful on the surface (sorry Gura) but contains so much hidden depths. Truly a creature of the deep sea. 🦈 🌊 ⛵

It's gotta be ridiculously tough too. Since there's people with zero experience but have become iconic talents like Kobo and Subaru.. and you have super experienced indie and even streamers from other agencies looking to get in as soooo many of them are huge fans of hololive.
another thing is they got to be a good judge of the character they are highering. each talent is an investment for hololive they are not considered easily replaceable. talents that hololive hires they are they for the good and the bad. they are in it for the long haul. that means they need to be careful to select people who FIT the company and character. they are looking for those who are totally sure they are in this for the long run not only for short term rewards and cloat. given the current hellscape that is the EN vtuber sphere that is currently full of drama and snakes looking to cut down others for clout they need to weed those out and find the gems that applied. the more this toxic hellscape of clout chasing backstabbing indie grows the harder it is to fine the ration good natured gems hidden among the trash and the more strict and careful they need to be.
good EN indies still exist yes but they are getting hard to find amoung the ever increasing mound of SJW political BS Cloutchasing Backstabbers that currently plague the EN indie landscape. thus making the need for strict selection quite necessary

she was one of the most subbed vtuber before she joined hololive, her old channel is in the top 40 vtuber right now and she did no content for like 4 years there.
I mean of corse if she did not had this Loli Charakter then she will get way less subs i think but it is not because of her charakter (avatar) it is because of herself, she fit in gawr gura so much and i think the key for the success was when Myth made alot of memes, even the Fans was not Shrimps back then, but gura changed it, the myth members interacted with the viewers alot and they was just fun to watch.
This is why they got so populated, and yes of course they have talent in any way, but the most talent you need is charisma and not many people got that talent, but alot of streamer try to stream but they are not fun to watch same count for Vtuber.

@@ExtraCarnex I just checked her old account, The senzawa account has not been touched since she uploaded OKI Doki Boomer on it and the channel as a whole get 345K views last 30 days. Her most popular video is has 30 million views and I've heard other people do their variations of this song as well. she has 1.22 million subs as of today.
What really intrigued me when I first watched Gura was that her voice seems familiar (not talking about her past life) and also unfamiliar at the same time. It's not like the regular western flesh streamer voice, it's hard to guess where she's from exactly just from the voice. For lack of better words, her voice is captivating in a peculiar way. And what surprised me even more she could sing really well (fly me to the moon, which is one of my favorite song), it was amazing.
She built the character from scratch. Even her vocal range is intentionally limited. This character that she made is a work of art.

The way that she will immediately bring up stuff like her tail knocking into things, you think she spends all day as a shark when not streaming? Yeah, if you were there while it was happening, you'd have seen that she was kind of a hot mess. This is the better timeline for everyone.
Gura's nervous energy is extremely fun to watch and really assisted with her explosive growth as she was pretty much a nervous wreck for large portions of her first two months.
Though the breaks we are seeing now is probably a direct consequence of the health issues that arose from that period, she stated recently that she had trouble downing more than a kit kat a day for some days during that period.

HoloEN wouldnt be what it is today without Gura. I dont know if what it would have become without her would have known how good she was but even before it she was still a highly entertaining and creative person.
I fell into the rabbit hole because of the sharkie. To be precise because of Nyanners. Hear me out: Nyanners' Weeds asmr stream was my go to back then, heard that like 100 times easily, then I searched for someone with such a good and relaxing voice as her, and I found Guras debut stream that happened right then, I found it so good I have watched Watson next, the rest is history.
To think Fubuki and Muse Dash was how Gura found Hololive, that makes it all the worse how she can't play that game on stream. But welp she obtained so many good memories so there's that.

I think Hololive is lucky to have Gura, and Gura is also lucky to join Hololive. Whether you like it or not, joining a company is better than being indie, and hololive is the best vtuber company right now.
It's possible she could've grown as an indie like Ironmouse but this is still the best timeline 100%. Even Ironmouse probably would trade her freedom for Gura's level of success. Also it's likely that Gura's personality flourishes more in an agency like Hololive anyway, who helped her focus her talents instead of letting them all go to waste on shitposts and being an alcoholic on stream.

Funny, but of course in reality Cover knew it would've been insane to let someone like Gura walk away just because they were anxious about doing a video interview. Sometimes you just know what you got and will do anything to hold onto a talent. She and someone like Laplus (who sent in an audition tape shorter than the minimum) are the exception to the rule and are good enough catches to bend the guidelines to get them into Hololive.

@@CADClicker It doesn't. Someone saying "Gawr Gura used to be so-and-so," even if their Twitter page is still up, nobody knew who she was "back then," so her identity is safe now. There are some songs I found that were performed by a current JP Hololive member that I shared with some people, and they got VERY upset with me about it. I had no idea what they were talking about because the person in question had pretty much scrubbed their accounts of any contact information. I just thought it was cool because it was from WAY back, long before "V-Tubeing" was even a thing. So, none of this "soft-doxxing" talk makes any sense to me.
