Could you share where you can buy miso in your area in the comment section? I've recently been receiving lots of questions about this, but I have no clue other than Amazon. I hope many of us on this channel can support each other! Thank you for your kindness in advance, friends🙏
My local grocery stores have miso but it is cheaper from Amazon. I get a large bag of white miso for half the price of my local grocery. I am in New England
I get my miso paste from Amazon as I can't get it in my city anymore. We at one point had a really good little store that sold everything for Japanese cooking but it shut down a few months ago
UK - I get mine from Amazon as it's chickpea miso (no soy) but it's easy to find normal miso in Whole Foods, some of the supermarkets stock small pots of it now as well. A company called Tideford Organics sell it online for a reasonable price.
I'm so excited for your cookbooks! Especially the vegan one. Thank you for the amazing content. I watch your videos before bed since it's so relaxing and puts me in a peaceful mood. Thank you big sis ❤

I am in the USA Midwest state . I get my miso at HYVEE grocery store. Hyvee has set up a new section in the produce that caters to asian foods and veggies!!! I can also get it at my local asian store.
So lovely, pure, wonderful and healthy. Thanks for sharing 👍🏾. Love japanese food and culture. 😃🙋🏾♀️🇨🇦🇯🇲. I actually really like the" stinky beans" 😀👍🏾. Right now living in Houston for now, so Ranch 99 is the large megastore to go for all things Asian , from Indian, Mongolian etc.. always excited when I go to stock up. Dishes and utensils too.
I am your fan instantly. Because we are alike in some ways. I am a full time mom. I only have one boy and I make meals for the dad and my son daily. I want to learn to be a vegan. I look forward to learning a lot more from you. Thank you!
I would love a vegan or plant based version of your cookbook! I've recently turned plant based, and I LOVE Japanese food, but its hard to find authentic vegan recipies. :)
Thank you very much for your encouragement!! I always come back to these sweet comment whenever I need to motivate myself! haha Having you in this community means world to me!
I would love the vegan cookbook, I am a longtime vegan and getting very interested in Japanese cuisine. I can buy miso at my local grocer. I live in Northern California. 🥰
I just got relocated to the Dallas Fort worth area in Texas. There are a whole lot more options of ingredients here compared to where I moved from. I've seen the different miso paste that you use in your recipes in a Whole Foods Mart here. Look forward to trying them as you recommended. Thanks for sharing your family and recipes Miwa!
I definitely would love a vegan cook book. I live in a small area in US and there is only one tiny Asian store. I must travel over an hour for a good Asian store. I buy a lot of products on Amazon. By the way, I have been to your beautiful country because when I was young, living in an apartment in California, I met a very dear Japanese friend. Yumiko. I love and miss her so much. I visited her 10 years ago. I saw her daughter eat tofu out of container. Saw geisha. Loved your soaking steaming hot tub with scented water, ahhh. I enjoyed everything so much. Such good memories.
ohh what a beautiful memory!! Thank you very much for sharing! It's not easy to stay connected with distance. you guys must get along with each other so well! I'm so proud of Yumiko-san as Japanese!
Good evening Your recipes are so amazing! Please do cookbooks, if you want separate them that’s fine. I will buy whatever you decide. I have been trying some of your recipes for a wee bit and I love them! Thank you for what you do
How you start the vlog is just how my life is so I think a lot of moms can relate :) I sometimes wonder how long this will be with kids, probably until they're grown up and left the house hahaha. also cold food is familiar. when I have time I translate and adjust (so that the ingredients are easily available elsewhere) Japanese homecooking dishes to English and post them on facebook and taking a good photo usually means cold food. Try the cold tomato noodles with miso marinated tofu is a good combination as well (and you can make the shio dofu yourself too). The boodles will go great with the shiso you grow on the balcony :) I think it's a good Idea that the vegan recipes will be in a seperate cookbook. For people who eat vegan there will be only things they can eat and such books are rare to find especially vehan Japanese recipes.
haha! I think we have a lot to relate already! you post your food on FB?? I would love to see! Thank you for the advice on the cookbook! very reassuring to hear!!

I love your channel and I want to learn how to cook like you! Do you know where I can buy the ingredients, Online, Stores, Etc? I am from South Florida and had a yearly membership at Morikami Japanese Gardens and I went there almost every week. They had a restaurant there and I miss the food. I now live in Tennessee and there aren't many grocery stores here in my area sadly. I buy a lot on Amazon, LOL. I have always loved Japan, someday I hope to visit, it's definitely on my bucket list. Thank you for sharing your talents and gifts with us.
wow!! Thank you for sharing such a valuable information! Membership sounds very interesting! I will look them up! yes, Please come to Japan when everything is settled^^
I saw natto in the frozen section in my asian market and I was too scared to try it 🙈 my son is obsessed with anime now and so he's so enthusiastic to try Japanese food. This makes foodie mama very happy 😊 lots of love from Ireland 😘☺️
haha! I understand you are scared to try! It's great to hear that you son likes anime!! So many people are starting with anime to try out some of the Japanese recipe they see on anime! Thank you for sharing Rebecca!
In Europe there are some Japanese online grocery stores and usually miso is sold in Asian supermarkets as well. so in Western Europe at least it's not that difficult to find, but yu don't really find the very white (more kyoto style) miso
your son seems to love the ice cubes very much 笑笑笑 😆 i am just watching through video i have missed from you overtime these is very fun for me to watch i am learn english which i am not great at and also some yummy recipe from you!😊✌🏼
I live in Scotland and I buy miso from Waitrose and Sainsbury's. There's usually white...and I want to say, red? miso. I was recently thinking it would be so great if people who live in the same country could share a list or something of where they find Japanese ingredients. I would love to know where is a reputable place to shop from. Also, I watched this video while eating leftover miso udon noddle soup I made from this channel yesterday! Thanks so much Miwa, you are changing the way I eat!
I live in Los Angeles, so for any authentic Japanese products i go to Little Tokyo. They have an amazing Japanese market, which is where i get my miso. But i love all your vegan recipes...💙💙💙💙💙😸👍
where did you get the raincoat? I have been looking for a big long one for so long. =) The food looks amazing. I am going to try the shoyu koji for suuuuuure. Thanks!
Your pasta sauce looks yummy! I’m trying your recipe out for my family . This is like an Asian version . Can I make my sauce hot rather than a cold pasta ?
While I like both vegan and non-vegan recipes, I appreciate the ease of having two cookbooks so I don't have to search. I can just pick the edition I want a recipe from. I purchase my miso from an Asian market in Chesapeake, VA about an hour north of where I live.
Netherlands: The amazing Oriental. It's actually super easy to find asian products here so you'd find something in any supermarket, although they are pricier than the one I mentioned. Italy: (Turin) Porta palazzo asian stores or some bigger PAM's have it. It's incredibly hard to find asian products in this country, since italian cuisine is so big and didn't allow other cuisines to develop as much as in other countries :( I recently visited my mom and wanted to make som Nasi Goreng but couldn't find Ketjap Manis, only sweet sauce which is similar but not quite. It made my rice almost soggy. It was still very tasty, just a bit underwhelming. I wish there were more physical options. I know there's online stores that sell Japanese products, but that's about it. Other things like Indonesian/Malaysian/Vietnamese products are nowhere to find. A pity. Also spices are very hard to come by since they aren't vastly used in italy. For example Pimento. Unseen.
Yes that is a great idea! For example I would be interested in your vegan book because I'm vegan but my partner is not vegan and like traditional dishes so he will like to buy your traditional japanese cooking cookbook. :)
Would you please share what kind of nuts and seeds you put in your rice? I can see the soybeans but I don't know what the others are. Thank you so much! Your videos have changed how we eat at home. In fact, we'll be having salmon, rice, natto, and miso soup for breakfast. We di this every Sunday.
we have seeds mix in Japan. I randomly buy some of it. It incudes oats, black beans, red beans, barley, and many more! I soak them in water for at least 1 hour then cook it with rice in the rice cooker. I think you can try with any beans on hand to experiment! How lovely to hear that you guys have a special sunday breakfast!!! so happy to hear!!!! Thank you so much!
Watching Richard Dean version of Macgyver for half an hour with my husband while eating fruits or something else as dessert after dinner after our crazy busy days..
I think my precious moments for the last months, is searching for, and then making delicious and healthy breakfasts, from all over the world. I was stuck for a long time in the idea what food has to be certain things (I live in the West), but I've been trying to change how I think about breakfast food since last autumn. Occasionally I'll still have the standard western breakfast, but more often than not now, I'll make something else. I also am not just making another culture's breakfast food, I'm making food that I think I'd like to eat for breakfast. So I've tried fish with rice and kimchi, Korean vegetable pancakes (a LOT of them, especially now that I have an air-fryer), miso soups, fermented vegetables, eggs in a different way etc. I'd like to try natto, but I haven't seen it here yet (I forgot to look today when I was at the big Asian supermarket). Coincidentally, I've started eating breakfast later too, usually between 10 and 11 in the morning. I normally just have tea (loose-leaf) before I eat, but sometimes if I'm a bit hungry I'll have some fruit. I like eating later, the meal is bigger and more satisfying than something like a piece of toast when I'm still half asleep! I thought it would be very strange to eat "non-breakfast" food for breakfast, but I really like it!
I love the relationship with food. also the mentality . For me it's not easy to be out of my comfort zone when it comes to food. I leaned some from you r comment^^ thank you!

So sweet of you Tricia!!! Thank you very much for your kindness.
Btw i appreciate the vegan version of any traditional japanese recipe.
Thank you very much for your request Ima!
You’re my new favorite TH-camr!! ❤️
Thank you!
ohhh you are busy mom!!! I hope you find some time to take care of yourself too^^ thank you!
I love your channel and mindset 🙏🖤
Since I am copying what you are eating I am losing weight dramatically, 😍
Hope to meet you in Japan Miwa. Greetings from Hongkong
wow!! Really?!! I'm not making weight loss recipe intentionally. it's all thanks to your effort!!!Great to hear Chris! Thank you for sharing!
So excited for the cookbooks. I hope you either ship to europe or have ebook copies available, because I really want one xD
Thank you so much for your encouragement Ellie! it will be a e-cookbook! So will be sold in online!
I would love a vegan or plant based version of your cookbook! I've recently turned plant based, and I LOVE Japanese food, but its hard to find authentic vegan recipies. :)
Thank you for your kind word Laura!!
Thank you so much for all of the work that you are doing for us ☺️🧡 … I love your content and I think you are a great mom ✨ please keep going 🙏🏻
Thank you very much for your encouragement!! I always come back to these sweet comment whenever I need to motivate myself! haha
Having you in this community means world to me!
Thank you very much for sharing!! One of me good friends are going to relocated to Dallas too!! so I'll tell her^^
@@MiwasJapaneseCooking Tell her if she needs a friend to message me through your channel Miwa.
Nice recipe
Your English is very impressive
ohhhh thank you!!! So reassuring🙏❤
YEAH a vegan cookbook, this vid is GREAT once again. What a sweet mom you are too, Love and Light from Europe 💞
Good evening
Your recipes are so amazing!
The boodles will go great with the shiso you grow on the balcony :)
I think it's a good Idea that the vegan recipes will be in a seperate cookbook. For people who eat vegan there will be only things they can eat and such books are rare to find especially vehan Japanese recipes.
haha! I think we have a lot to relate already!
you post your food on FB?? I would love to see!
Thank you for the advice on the cookbook! very reassuring to hear!!
@@MiwasJapaneseCooking my facebook page is facebook.com/mytokyokitchen I haven't veen posting for a while now because of things with Saya and school. That took priority but I'm trying to get back at posting again.
I have begun meal prepping 2 meals a day. Breakfast and lunch. I work away from home and it is a game changer. I eating Japanese miso soup for breakfast too. Trying to get more veggies in my life.
wow!! That' s amazing!! the habit will change your life over time for sure!! cheers from Japan!
Wait, not one but THREE cookbooks? 😍
haha! Hopefully! Thank you for being with me!
@@MiwasJapaneseCooking I would totally dig it, so if you can manage without burning yourself out, I would happily buy all of them. But please take care
Them meals look good and healthy :)
Thank you Stephen!!
your son seems to love the ice cubes very much 笑笑笑 😆 i am just watching through video i have missed from you overtime these is very fun for me to watch i am learn english which i am not great at and also some yummy recipe from you!😊✌🏼
Yes please! I would love a vegan only cookbook.
Please, do you have a recipe of how you make Shoyu Koji? Would love to see how to do this
I actually have one^^

I live in Scotland and I buy miso from Waitrose and Sainsbury's. There's usually white...and I want to say, red? miso. I was recently thinking it would be so great if people who live in the same country could share a list or something of where they find Japanese ingredients. I would love to know where is a reputable place to shop from. Also, I watched this video while eating leftover miso udon noddle soup I made from this channel yesterday! Thanks so much Miwa, you are changing the way I eat!
That's a great idea!! that would be so helpful for many of Japanese food lovers!
thank you so much for making one of my favorite recipes!!!
Being used to Neapolitan tomato pasta, your recipe was a little surprising at first, but I guess I should try it for the summer :'D
haha! I understand! Please give it a try when the tomato are still in season! ^^ Thank you for your comment Cheru!
I live in Los Angeles, so for any authentic Japanese products i go to Little Tokyo. They have an amazing Japanese market, which is where i get my miso.
But i love all your vegan recipes...💙💙💙💙💙😸👍
Thank you very much for your kind word and sharing Little Tokyo! Los Angeles seems to have everything I use in video^^ great to hear!!
where did you get the raincoat? I have been looking for a big long one for so long. =) The food looks amazing. I am going to try the shoyu koji for suuuuuure. Thanks!
Your pasta sauce looks yummy! I’m trying your recipe out for my family . This is like an Asian version . Can I make my sauce hot rather than a cold pasta ?
I accidentally tried warm one, and it wasn't good😂I can't promise it would be good when hot! haha
thankyou very much for your kind word!
@@MiwasJapaneseCooking thank you for your reply . Okay will try cold only .
It's incredibly hard to find asian products in this country, since italian cuisine is so big and didn't allow other cuisines to develop as much as in other countries :(
I recently visited my mom and wanted to make som Nasi Goreng but couldn't find Ketjap Manis, only sweet sauce which is similar but not quite. Unseen.
It's interesting how it differs in different countries!
Also, I'm very impressed how you are open to many other cuisines!!
Thank you for sharing!!
Love from Malaysia!
What brand of green tea do you drink?
I am new to your channel. I would be most interested in your vegan cookbook

Yes that is a great idea! For example I would be interested in your vegan book because I'm vegan but my partner is not vegan and like traditional dishes so he will like to buy your traditional japanese cooking cookbook. :)
Thank you Luna!!!^^
@@MiwasJapaneseCooking You're very welcome and thank you for sharing your recipes with us!! :D
@@MiwasJapaneseCooking Thank you so much for getting back to me! I can make that mix if I can't find it in a store. I appreciate your time. Thank you!
Do , nutrition and delicious baby and toddlers food.
Watching Richard Dean version of Macgyver for half an hour with my husband while eating fruits or something else as dessert after dinner after our crazy busy days..
I don't like bananas that much. Can we put any fruits we like in the ice cream? Do you know which fruits taste well together?
Thank you!

How I wish to taste natto. CAN YOU PLEASE TEACH US HOW JAPANESE PEOPLE SERVE TEA . THANK YOU
My life has been limited
I really want to go to Japan beg I die. This is the next best thing, arigato
I hope you can visit japan soon!
Silk tofu?
VEGAN COOKBOOK PLEASE!!!
yeeey!! you word is my motivation!!! Thank you!
I like your blog but I feel sad that you don't have anything outside of kids&husband.once they gone, then what?
