Hello viewers and subscribers. Thank you so much for all your support. As an update to this video, Theresa is back home with me now, as of July 2023, and no longer resides at the memory care facility. Here is a link to the video in-which I discuss it >> th-cam.com/video/bbkFlUDLJ5s/w-d-xo.htmlsi=f8RWuO79sObVIm7e
Theresa is so very lucky to have you but then i guess it works both ways. Your channel is no doubt helping others and i wish you both nothing but the best as you navigate this stage in your lives.
My best friend has been diagnosed with early stages of dementia and your videos help me understand what she is probably experiencing. Thank you so much for sharing your story with us all.
This channel will be so helpful for younger couples who find themselves in the same situation. So it is so important. You are doing such a great service Trey.
Next to the Like & share button we can send “THANKS” to this lovely couple trying so hard to make all of these challenges work. I started with $1.99. I want to know they got it and then we can all hopefully make small donations within our budgets to send them some practical help! ❤
@@danapeckham4754 oh booo. I just made another small donation. I know he isn’t asking, but my heart just told me to do it. Maybe they will set up a fundraising link.
I am not affected by this horrible disease nor am I a caregiver. Thank God a million times over. But we none know if or when the unthinkable might happen. I am so grateful for your videos to gather information on a topic I know nothing about. You are helping a lot of people with something they never imagined would happen to them. Theresa you are a beautiful woman.
It’s really like a double kick to the gut. Not only do you have to deal with the emotional side of Alzheimer’s but also the crippling financial side. My heart goes out to you and Theresa. Sending you prayers.
You are a voice for not only Theresa, but to so many other caregivers who are just starting their journey with this ruthless disease. You and Theresa are helping others with your openness and willingness to sharing your journey! As always, lots of love and loads of prayers! 🙏💜🙏
Medicaid was a godsent to me and my Husband in 2017. He owned his own business when he became ill with Brain cancer. He had to stop working as a contractor due to seizures and he had many bills due to this. Hospital, Brain surgery, Helicopter flight, just to name a few. I was able to get him covered as well as myself to be his full time caretaker. They paid for everything. Thank God. It seems to got this. Yes you do have to adjust your lifestyle but it will all work out.
As caregiver Just want to say thank you for taking such good care of Teresa. God bless you all always. Also can you please make more videos of both of you, every time i see her smiling bless my soul and i am pretty sure to others too.🙏🏾
Trey, I’m popping back in for a moment. On a happy note, my husband and I ❤your fat cat 🐈 walking on your sofa! We don’t have children, but we have 3 furry feline loves, Lucy, Morgan & Oscar. Also, Ava our German shepherd. Hugs to your cat! I know he/she misses Mommy Theresa! 💜👩🏻🦳
Hi Sheila! Yes our kitties miss momma and she misses them as well. The facility does allow Pet Therapy so I might try to bring one of them at some point. They don't travel well but I may give it a shot. Also, the facility suggested that I could take Theresa back home for a visit after she has adjusted fully to being at memory care. I'll have to be careful about that though as I would not want to upset her or have trouble bringing her back to the facility.
As someone in the nursing field I think she will be approved for everything. I’m so happy that your smart with money and you embraced this and have been an excellent husband. God bless you
I can’t imagine what financial stress is when there is an illness in someone’s life. I think I would be overwhelmed with stress. I’m so glad that you are able to navigate through this situation. Prayers go out to you and Theresa🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
My husband will be having to do this in a few years I think this video will help him. So I will forward it to him and I hope he pays attention. Thank you for helping not only us but I’m sure a few couples out there

You are an angel. I took care of my MIL for 5 years at home. She was my full time job. What started as as forgetful, but very healthy 97 year old, spiraled into dementia after a fall. Or maybe that’s when we realized what was happening. After she was unable to participate in her care anymore I called Hospice. We had a fantastic agency that helped us keep her at home until she passed away at 100 years old in November. Your wife is one lucky woman to have you! Prayers for the both of you.
I really understand what you are going through. I am my mom's caretaker. She has been with me for 7 years now before that i also cared for her until she move in. It is a financial and emotional rollercoaster until you are able to get a handle of it. It is a leaning process and there are adjustments that need to take place along the way. You are doing a wonderful job and God will help you. Thank you for sharing
You show strength, resilience and stoicism, through these incredible challenges you’ve reached goals that have given Theresa the best care possible, thank you for sharing this inspiring story ❤

I am one of those new viewers. We lost my mother in law to Alzheimer’s a few years ago. We feel your struggle. So I send my prayers and want to let you know you are not alone on this journey. I will watch and click like and I hope this will help you in a little way. God bless you both.
Thank you for sharing much valuable information about the financial aspects of providing care for loved ones with dementia. It’s a sensitive topic but one we all need to learn more about.
Hi Trey, thank you for this video! When I see a new post I watch it immediately. I feel privileged to be a part of this journey. I am glad Theresa is doing well ❤. I know how much you love her. You look as though you are losing some weight. I can see it in your face. It could be intentional or stress. Looking forward to your next video! Maybe will will see your Sweetheart with you hand in hand enjoying a lovely walk.
I have lost a little weight as I am not cooking as much these days. I miss preparing Theresa's favorite meals. I will likely make another short video soon with Theresa to say hello to all our subscribers. Thank you so much for your words and support!
love you Trey. you're a good man. Theresa is so blessed to have you. to be cliche, "when man on earth has done his best, angels in heaven cannot do better".
I know you had no idea how your channel would blow up. There's so many cases of Dementia. Its so sad. I know many will appreciate what your videos are about. I know that when I was helping my Mom with my Dad, I researched TH-cam every day looking for ideas, advice, anything to help me know what I was dealing with. Mom refused to place him anywhere and it was way too much for 1 person to handle. I hope you'll continue sharing your journey because A- its probably a good outlet for you B- You'll find that strangers across the world care. C- Its so damn hard and its nice to share ideas!
I am always looking forward to your updates. You were wise in getting your finances prepared to handle this journey. Does your cat travel well? If so, memory care might permit pet visits, which Theresa might enjoy. You could also cook Theresa a favorite meal for the two of you to enjoy together. Continued prayers for both of you. Thank you for your words. Unfortunately our cats do not travel to well but I have considered giving it a shot. The facility does allow pet therapy. Thank you for your prayers and support. I will let Theresa know and will likely make a short video with her saying hello to everyone.
My heart goes out to you. I remember when my Dad, who had his own medical issues at the time, had to get my Mom on SS disability, etc. He was exhausted with understanding and doing all that needed to be done. It was very stressful. I know there are many people who will greatly benefit by watching your channel. You may also learn from people who have been through similar circumstances, which would be nice too. Continuing to pray for you both….. 🙏🏻😊
Trey, thank you for sharing your situation with us. You have great patience and wisdom, and have touched my heart. I am happy to hear Theresa is doing well at Memory Care and that you get to see her every day. I pray her condition will improve with all of the treatments coming thru every single day, there is so much hope! Prayers from Peoria, Arizona 💛
This kind of information is so important to so many people. This is such a hard journey you both are traveling. Thank you for being there for your wife , and helping other also. Take care of yourself.
Assisted Living is incredibly expensive. When we put my inlaws into an Assisted Living 9 years ago it cost $4500.00 for both of them. They had 3 rental properties (thank goodness) and we turned their house into a rental as well. Thankfully, these houses paid for all of their expenses. My father in law passed away 8 months later and she stayed because she had mild dementia. As time went on her dementia got worse and she was moved to memory care and when she died at 95 last November her care cost over $100,000. per year! ( I took care of all the bookkeeping). Having those rentals was a godsend and now we are fixing them up to sell them. I understand that businesses have to make money. But It is hard enough when a family member can't live at home anymore for their family. It is very hard on the family, especially if there are kids involved, jobs, juggling care and there is also so much guilt and sadness as well as a limited budget. Our government should have more programs to help families with this care. It is a real burden for families and some families don't have the funds to hire care for their family member and they have to take care of them themselves. We were very lucky. You've done a great job with your finances, looking towards the future and your wife is very lucky to have you care so much for her and that you are making sure she is well taken care of. God Bless You. You are doing the right thing for your wife. 🙏👍🙏
Disability is such a catch-22. You can't work because you are ill, but you have to work to support yourself, yet you have to be out of work to qualify. I think everyone should enter retirement debt free if at all possible. I am glad you were able to plan your finances ahead of time.
Hi Trey, your information will really help other people who are wondering how to make plans - and also what happens when someone isn't diagnosed but has lost or is losing a job due to cognitive issues.
Hi Trey, I’ve been watching your videos now for a couple of weeks. The way you support your wife is unprecedented. I am ill as well. Since Febr. 2020 it’s getting worser from day to day. I had a panic attack and afterwords my whole world changed. It felt like a stroke but it wasn’t. It feels like Dementia or Alzheimer. I had two MRI examinations till now and there was no sign of dementia. I am not diagnosed till now. I can’t go on living like that. I can’t do things on my own anymore. My husband always has to accompany me. My radius of action is getting smaller and I feel sicker and powerless. I used to do many things but now I can only go for a short walk with my husband and our dog. It feels like I am standing next to me. It’s horrible. I do not take any medication. I am actually not able to visit a doctor for further examination. My husband is so unhappy and this breaks my heart. I don’t know what to do anymore. My brain is getting worser from day to day. Nevertheless I am going to subscribe to support you. I hope your wife Theresa is doing fine. Stay strong Trey. I am sending you best wishes and kindest hugs. Claudia from Germany 💕
hi Jurgen. am no Dr but could it be some inner ear problem like vertigo or so. had a friend who spent a fortune decades ago trying to get a diagnosis until they found out it was his inner ear. best wishes.
That’s it. Doctors mostly only can see what they want to see. There may arise things they didn’t study and when they do not comprehend, they won’t be able to cure. There are so many things between earth and sky, which haven’t been examined or better researched till now.
I watched last n8ght and the volume was very very low, i had my phone up to my ear to listen, it seems you have re-recorded this, thank you, thank you, it is much better, my volume is on high but i can hear you. Last night had valuable information in it and thank you for sharing. My husband passed last year but i still listen. I have been through this and others who are new to this journey this is so very helpful.
I'm glad the volume is better on this video and that you got a chance to view it. I'm sorry to learn of your husband's passing. Thank you for your words and support - much love to you.
You will reach many people who can relate to your circumstances. My aunt had to place our uncle in memory care. It is always good to know the financial aspects of this care.
Trey, just watched your video about Teresa's diagnosis, and checked out your channel. I'm impressed with your ability to remain focused on your goals. As a caregiver, it has been very difficult for me to not take mom's behavior personally -- and to manage my stress. I'm a retired healthcare worker, and "home" is now my "workplace." Mom has some signs of dementia - which I notice, but other family members deny, and have said I am "the problem." All I can say is thank God for my adult children, who understand the situation. I realize that I cannot continue doing this (10 years, so far). It is negatively affecting my health both physically and mentally. I'm 71. You are doing very well! Thank you for making these videos. The lessons you share are extremely valuable - especially retaining legal counsel. God bless you! Subscribed!
Thank you for sharing your journey. I can understand the difficulty you are facing with others that are in denial. As a caregiver, you know the circumstances and changes in your loved one much more intimately than anyone else. I too faced disbelief from others, especially since my wife was so young when she was diagnosed. Thank you for subscribing, I'm glad to hear theses videos have been helpful. Much love and support to you and God Bless you as well.
I hope making these videos are helping you navigate through this world you are in and help bring you some peace. I still have no idea why you showed up my video suggestions, but I hope a few words of encouragement help get you through another day. So, stay as positive as you can in the difficult days ahead - Sending only positive thoughts your and Theresa’s way.
You are doing a great job helping your wife and a lots of other people. So we are here to help you and Teresa go thru this special journey and at the same time that you are helping us learn about Alzheimer disease you are also teaching us a very important lesson of life. Let’s all help Teresa. You all are in my prayers. God Bless.
Thank you so much for sharing your journey with Teresa’s early onset Alzheimer’s. You are helping so many people! I remember watching You Tube videos for help on how to care for Mom when she had Alzheimer’s. Behavior changes can be challenging and you may feel all alone. As a community we need the support and encouragement of others who have experience with Alzheimer’s. Thank you for being such a loving supportive husband!
Trey, I'm humbled by the love you have for your wife. I can't imgagine going through what you're going through but you are navitigating unchartered waters very measuredly. Hang tough.
Using an Elder law attorney was obviously an expense but most certainly well worth it. You are a bright and talented man Trey, stay strong. Prayers for you, Theresa and your family.☮🙏
Thanks, that information was helpful. I’m so sorry you’re going through these issues but thanks be to God you’ve been able to keep your head above water. I’m glad your wife is in a good facility and is doing well. 🙏😊
My husband has severe dementia and I am caring for him at home. Your videos are very helpful and Theresa has a beautiful smile. Thank you so much for doing them. What a learning journey huh?! G-d is making us all better through these trials but its hurts something awful some days. I cried quite a bit seeing your beautiful love together. Remember Theresa will only have dementia here, not for eternity. That is what I tell my husband. You will be better when Jesus comes. I am so thankful for you and your example for us. Hallelujah!!
Amen! Thank you Melanie for your words. I am comforted to know that I am not alone in this journey and I pray this forum we have here is helpful to others. Much love and support to you and your husband.
Praying for you and Theresa. My heart goes out to you during this time, it's a devastating disease with lots of challenges for the person who has it as well as for their family. Both of my parents had it and I was their caregiver. Please know that there are support groups that provide support and assistance to help you navigate through this difficult process. God bless you and Theresa and will keep you both in my prayers. ❤
You are a very kind person, providing such gentle and loving care for your wife. You seem to be doing everything right, with your heart as your guide. Your lovely wife seems to be doing very well and looks forward to your visits, which you both enjoy. May God continue to bless you and your wife.
Your podcasts are very helpful to us all. We all know someone affected with dementia. This podcast on financials was very helpful because it helped us face up to old age. I am looking forward to your future lectures. Thank you.
I found your channel a few months ago and find it comforting that you are sharing your knowledge. My dad goes in the morning for a brain cat scan to find out if he has Dementia or Alzheimer's. Prayers for you and Theresa.
Hi, Trey. This video is very informative! Congratulations on no debt and the ability to pay for Theresa's memory care with the various income sources. Bless you two.
This is a VERY helpful video, I greatly appreciate the details. I like that you are able to give a lot of financial info while maintaining your privacy, as you should. You have been so terrific in your planning all these years, I hope it continues to work for you both. What a great spouse you are, “in sickness and in health.” Sending prayers and hugs to you both. 👍🏻❤️
Theresa is my love and it is my honor to care for her. I believe it has been my calling in life and I would do it all over again for her love. Thank you Ellen for your words, prayers and support.
I have been watching your videos for the last couple of days and really feel for you. It must have been really hard to put your wife into memory care especially in her 50's. It was hard for my mom and her siblings to take my grandma to a similar place before she passed in 2020. I really commend you for being so dedicated to your wife, bringing awareness to signs and symptoms of dementia, and planning well for your wife's transition to a memory care faciliry. I hope she thrives there and you can continue to have some good quality time with her as well as get some good self care at home.
Gosh, Trey, this was so helpful. Even without having to drill down to specific numbers hearing the steps you took and additional tips were invaluable. Thank you!
You have done a phenomenal job at this. I can’t imagine the stress. I will let the ads play when I watch to help a bit. We were able to keep my dad in his home until the last few months. We found a nice board and care. He was bed bound by that time, so qualifying and needs were easier. Hospice was wonderful with supplies etc even at the board and care. Bless you both. 💜
I am sorry for the loss of your Dad. I am taking care of my mom with dementia. How did you know it was the last few months that were left for your dad. How long was your dad bed ridden? What was it that may you decide to put your dad in a nursing home/hospice as oppose to continuing care at home? Asking people who have dealt with this is helpful. I am sorry for all the inquisitive questions. Thank you

Thank you for your support and for sharing your story! God bless you and your family as well.
Disability is such a catch-22. You can't work because you are ill, but you have to work to support yourself, yet you have to be out of work to qualify. I think everyone should enter retirement debt free if at all possible. I am glad you were able to plan your finances ahead of time.
Liking and Subscribing to help support the memory care costs. Thank you for standing by your family and sharing your story.
Thank you Darlene!
New subscriber. Happy to support your wonderful channel. Many blessings to you and Theresa. 🙏💐💖💖
Hi Trey, your information will really help other people who are wondering how to make plans - and also what happens when someone isn't diagnosed but has lost or is losing a job due to cognitive issues.
Thanks Trey, very useful informations.... I appreciate your efforts.🙏
Prayer to you and your loving wife Teresa.❤
Hi Trey, I’ve been watching your videos now for a couple of weeks. The way you support your wife is unprecedented. I am ill as well. Since Febr. 2020 it’s getting worser from day to day. I had a panic attack and afterwords my whole world changed. It felt like a stroke but it wasn’t. It feels like Dementia or Alzheimer. I had two MRI examinations till now and there was no sign of dementia. I am not diagnosed till now. I can’t go on living like that. I can’t do
things on my own anymore.
Thank you Jurgen for sharing your story and for your support. You and your husband will be in my thoughts and prayers.
hi Jurgen. am no Dr but could it be some inner ear problem like vertigo or so. had a friend who spent a fortune decades ago trying to get a diagnosis until they found out it was his inner ear. best wishes.
So much is still to be learned about loss of cognitive function. Dr’s do not understand it well
That’s it. Doctors mostly only can see what they want to see. There may arise things they didn’t study and when they do not comprehend, they won’t be able to cure. There are so many things between earth and sky, which haven’t been examined or better researched till now.
Thank you for helping us in knowing what can help us as we venture thru the Alzheimer World.

Wishing you and Theresa happy days ahead. ❤
Trey, just watched your video about Teresa's diagnosis, and checked out your channel.
I'm impressed with your ability to remain focused on your goals.
As a caregiver, it has been very difficult for me to not take mom's behavior personally -- and to manage my stress. I'm a retired healthcare worker, and "home" is now my "workplace."
Mom has some signs of dementia - which I notice, but other family members deny, and have said I am "the problem."
All I can say is thank God for my adult children, who understand the situation.
I realize that I cannot continue doing this (10 years, so far). It is negatively affecting my health both physically and mentally. I'm 71.
You are doing very well!
Thank you for making these videos. The lessons you share are extremely valuable - especially retaining legal counsel.
God bless you!

I admire all you have done for your wife, and your channel is sure to help others. I will share your channel on my social media.
Thank you Shellie. I really appreciate your words and support.
Thanks for sharing your story.
Thank you Rachel, I am glad your here. Thank you so much for your words and support!
You are doing a great job helping your wife and a lots of other people. So we are here to help you and Teresa go thru this special journey and at the same time that you are helping us learn about Alzheimer disease you are also teaching us a very important lesson of life. Let’s all help Teresa. You all are in my prayers. God Bless.
Thank so much Estela!
Thank you Joan for your words and support ! Much love
Theresa is lucky to have you as a spouse. I wish i find someone similar. Good luck to you both!

God Bless you Trey, I am keeping you and Theresa in my prayers everyday. ❤
Thank you for your prayers and support
Thank you for sharing all this information. I'm sure that it'll help those on the same journey with loved ones.
You are a very kind person, providing such gentle and loving care for your wife. You seem to be doing everything right, with your heart as your guide.

Thank you so much. This is always something I worry about. God bless you and Teresa. I do pray for you both.
Thank you Amy, I appreciate your words and support.
Blessings to you both. ❤
I heard you perfectly in today's video. Hope you have a great day !
Thank you and likewise!
Thank you
Thank you Gail for sharing your story of support and love for your father. Much love
Thank you for all you information it is priceless 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you for being an inspiration to all of us. Sending you prayers for strength in this challenging situation.
