Silly me. I studied electronics back in the day and completely forgot about 'band pass filters'. Of course this is how you 'sift out' the sub-woofer signals. Well done son! Very useful tip and reminder.

@@Work_G Unfortunately for you it's basically a dead industry in the West. Unless you are an engineer working with CAD and Bots, you're never going to be involved in anything of interest. However, people do spend big on their car stereo systems nowadays. Sometimes more than the 'go fast' items. Working at a 'high end' Car Audio place would make for a great first job, while you're putting yourself through Uni!

@@sunvol4503 LOL> If you have a ground loop, then you have an issue anyway. Forget about everything else. Fix your ground loop and help your amplifier out. A filter is just a bandaid. Fix all the ground issues by reseating all the vehicles ground connections until the background static goes away. Use copper spray if you need too..

You basically just get signal from the speakers? Am I able to do this with door speakers without any sound loss?

    • @Joe_1776

Yes, if you get a decent output converter. Something like the LC2i Pro, would be your best bet for a clean signal.

    • @Work_G

Almost any speaker will work, and that's the point on this install to take signal via converter with stock head unit, because rarely they come with necessary outputs. Sure there is some quality loss but you have to be real super into music to notice it
