    Watch again please - I have the crank case front turned towards me. Thanks for watching!

    lol, its because i ended up using a different stator, the first one had a nick in the wire from shipping, i installed it then took it out, then replaced with the one from the 700 - the original one from that motor:) very observant!

    Ya, just check compression after a few hours to see if they get closer.

    They sell a tool that you don't even have to use a screw driver to pop in your circlips ! And it takes a second for a pefect pop in fit ! They have the tool for every circlip size !

    I'll do that! The seats are harder because I dont have examples.

    no locktight on the bults for your pipe? these use to get loose wery quick from all vibrations from my own experiences and they are rly hard to reach when the engine is inside.

    Thanks man the only thing that had me worried was that I think it should be almost done break in.

    Spi pistons circlips are so tight. After doing those a few times every thing else is easy.

    I did - I thought I mentioned that.

    Does the pickup with green wire go on top? Or does it really have that big of a difference?

    • @toddchikigak6339
      @toddchikigak6339 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it does matter which pick up goes where. One time i put mine on backwards and it didnt start. So i switched them and it fired up on the first pull

  • @tylerkerr5069
    @tylerkerr5069 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    also i just installed a new stator and pickups but i didnt silicone the new one, just bolted them and used loctite. is the silicone necessary? thanks

    For those circlips I use a pen. A blue paper mate. Just file a notch neer the edge on the very back. Then insert clip and push the remain clip in with the back of the pen. If you slip, it won't damage the piston. Ruining your day and costing more $, a screw driver although effective could have been devastating!

    Louie, the hair on the top of your head seems to follow a clockwise pattern from the crown. This seems at odds with the hurricaine/cyclone systems that bring you snow, or perhaps because of it.

    spi pistons?

  • @TheBCSledder
    @TheBCSledder 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Oh I see. Yes the CFI 4 injector engines esp. had some catastrophic problems. I have an 08 dragon and just put the MTNTK Fix Kit in and it is a beast.

  • @TheBCSledder
    @TheBCSledder 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I just rebuilt my Dragon and I did a comp. test and got 130 and 120 hmmm maybe I should have re nicked them after all. Well, the top end bog is gone and it has lots of power so I'm not too worried ;)

    Why do the clips have to be up or down (12 or 6)? I understand thats manufacturers spec but why? what would happen if the clip was at 9?

  • @fgyoib
    @fgyoib 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    What type of oil did you use in the sylinders and on the piston?

  • @PowerModzOfficial
    @PowerModzOfficial  11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    They weren't that bad actually:)

  • @KANATADOMPIZ
    @KANATADOMPIZ 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Found out why actually. When the clips are sideways the up and down force could compress the circlip and cause it to pop out, where if they are at 6 or 9 the clip cannot compress. Just incase anyone ever asks you again. The more you know.

    Newbie question. Do you have to pull the motor out to do the top end in a 07 REV?

    • @PowerModzOfficial
      @PowerModzOfficial  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tyson Peters no you don't but if it hasn't been out in a while it's not a bad idea. But I've done a few top ends in the sled

    question, Why did you use a single ring piston? I heard the duel rings are better for that engine, that they help distribute the heat? any thoughts on this? what type is better and why? thanks

    • @PowerModzOfficial
      @PowerModzOfficial  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not running long pulls in the mountains, the single ring is fine, they last 15,000kms with no issues and handle the heat for what i do.

      PowerModz if you are not running long pulls then you are not in the mountains you are on bunny hills.;) unless you are tree riding of course then ya single ring would be fine I guess.

    cool idea, but even motorcycles have a clutch of some sort
    if you could get your hands on a motorcycle gearbox you could probably do it just fine

    in all honest man, i know its expensive, but this way YOU KNOW FOR A FACT, everything is torqued to spec, get a Snap on 3/8's torque wrench, you can buy something simular at napa, mac tool, matco, but there all basicly the same price, they all do inch pound, foot piunds, newtoun meter's, AND ANGEL's, and im betting some sled's use torque to yeld bolts now so it would be a wise investment for ya:), its good insurance knowing in the back of your mind knowing its tightened properly:)

  • @yourclearfortakeoff

    I might be buying 97' skidoo formula 3 700cc
    The guy says it needs a new stator because it is actually over-charging. Is that possible? he said he already tried replacing the voltage regulator but it didn't do anything.
    Also, he has it listed for $600...should I be concerned, its got a new top end and new gaskets all the way around, he also put new bearings in the bogey wheels... Why only $600???? Its not in horrible shape from what I can tell, He sounds like he hasn't stolen it or anything.....

  • @TheBCSledder
    @TheBCSledder 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeah I bet that would get pretty darn pricey :O. A 300$ set of jugs off ebay would be a better idea. Btw do you re-nic cylinders in your shop?

    when you were torquing your cilinders down you talked about the torque wrench you were using being not very good ( beam type is junk)and you had to go over them a couple times thats normal im a millwright by trade i torque stuff every day the reason for it is your gasket crush. now i did notice you went to full torque on the first pass you should never do that no matter the final torque vale like on your head do half then full gives u an even crush on your gasket

    • @heavysnow8616
      @heavysnow8616 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      FYI a beam style torque wrench is the most accurate if used properly. Watch how Louis held the wrench and how slowly and evenly he pulled.
