Watching you go through those boxes brought me back to my childhood days. I have watched you grow over the years, not only in subscribers, but also in the confidence you display. You make me think that you have been vlogging your whole life. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼. Thank you 🙏🏼 😊
I remember spending hours cutting out Betsy McCalls paper dolls out of McCalls magazine. Sweet memories of rare time spent with my Grandma. I was at the very tail end of paper dolls. Happy you got your score of paper goods!
Thats great all that paper was saved from the landfill! Btw I never heard of you before until 2 weeks ago when youtube recomended you so been binge watching ever since.
Hi Renae! Thrifting is happening here in Norway and so is looking after the beautiful residents of the cat hotel. I can't share any photos of the cat guests but I wish I could. I've sold some Paul Bonner designed collectables for Bebe of Norway, a wall embroidery with traditional Scandinavian pattern, a Swedish handmade iron candle holder, and some vintage Norwegian pewter handled cutlery. I LOVE finding these treasures new homes with folks who love to collect Scandinavian pieces to celebrate their heritage. Those paper dolls are so incredible. I might be showing my age, but my mom, who grew up during the depression and was in her late teens during the war, she talked about her paper dolls and I loved the idea so much, she found me paper dolls to play with in the 70's. I loved them so much.
Hi Renee. WOOHOO for Jimmy and the Tote Man. They did come through for you today. What an amazing Flea Market. God Bless you and have an amazing afternoon. HUGS 🤗. Mari'a. 🤗🤗🤗❤️❤️❤️👋👋👋👍👍👍👍👍👍💜💜💜🦋🌸🌼
Can always count on Jimmy & The Tote Man! We shall see how the market is this upcoming weekend with the holiday. Sometimes it is packed and other times only a few sellers. I'm hopeful for a good turnout!
I played with paper dolls in the 60’s. I bought some at a thrift store but I haven’t used them in a junk journal yet. The ones I got were quite tall. Have a great day!
Well...time to wake up the fleas, again! Will they find some juicy purchases??? 5AM...you'd have to use a cattle prod to stun me awake at that ungodly hour!! I'd probably would not be able to tell a ceramic fr-g from a ceramic dog! That baby doll looking at the camera from the dark surrounding was kinda creepy...calling Rod Serling!! Ah, a bit of nostalgia...that cute Radio Shack "Tin Can" Robot Bank...had one years ago. Ken ran off with Barbie! Thanks, Renee, for yet another "Flea Bitten" adventure!
I remember in the 1960s my sister had paper dolls and she forbade me to play with them ,she was scared I'd rip them so when she wasn't home Id sneak in our back varranda where she kept them in a trunk and played for hours with them They had fancy clothes and I remember one doll her name was Rachel with black hair And I never ripped any so I don't know if my sister ever knew that I played with them Fun times for sure 🇨🇦🦩
I did a clean out of a friends storage unit because she was moving out of state and had had it stuffed floor to ceiling for a decade. After she had done all of her picking, we were told that we could have anything that we wanted. After working for weeks, I certainly didn't want anything until I saw the old paper doll books. Such fun! Love your joy of going through all the totes!
Hey Miss Moose...the pig on your shirt reminded me of "Arnold" the pig from "Green Acres" episode where he went to Hollywood and wore sunglasses.🐷 another wig for your collection....thank God for Post-It-Notes, I couldn't restore any radios without them., from making notes for myself, for mixing epoxy, and using then to fix speaker cones., and much more....haha😂
Omg!!! I love the Wuzzles!!! I have Hoppopotamus and I still absolutely adore her. One of my brothers has bumblelion, can't remember what my other brother has. Great finds, great day out.
It´s nearly always a guarantee for pretty neat finds if there´s a meeting between P & M and the Tote Man. 👍Kudos to Jimmy for his fantastic assortment of paper items. 👌I like especially the whole bunch of pamphlets from the A.C. Historical Society for personal research or for resale on ebay. I enjoyed this flea market episode, but I really miss your "History Behind The Paper" clips (they don´t generate a lot of clicks, I know). 😔Anyways, have a very good time, and see you on the next one ! 🖐 Greets from GER, U.
I've been working on a History Behind the Paper of a doctor who *gasp* might possibly have committed arson! Plus, the postcards from you, the dentist scrapbook from Steve, of course the letters from Berlin, and a whole collection from Buzz from a year ago... So much research, so little time :0) Jimmy really did save so much history from the dumpster. He kept some wonderful tintypes for himself and a few other historical items from Atlantic City. Too bad he wasn't told about the cleanout sooner, as the person doing the cleanout already had filled about 3 dumpsters prior to Jimmy getting there. It hurts one's heart to think of all that had been thrown away...
@@PaperandMoose Sounds interesting ! And: don´t forget the "Letters from Vienna (Don´t marry this girl !)". Use this sentence as a clickbait, and the amount of clicks will explode ! 😇
I had a ken doll case, but was green! It’s from the 60’s. The paper dolls! The ones on top, large eyed kids used to worth a little. Or not, thanks for the memories!
The Toteman Cometh! Almost…..squeezed in. Came up with the goods though. Him and Jimmy. All the vintage saved-from-the-skip paper - very cool. As were the paper dolls. V interesting. I love the Wuzzle he looks like Tony! I want him!
Glad you had fun, Renee! Jimmy and The Tote Man - I have all their albums! ;-) That ESSO EXTRA PETROL double decker bus brought back fond memories of my childhood. That was a Matchbox toy. Remember: a bad day at the flea market beats a good day at work. But this was a *good* day!
1:07 That top poster/playbill is for the Texas psychedelic band "The Golden Dawn" the name of the album (the same art on the album) is called "Power Plant". Our band (Outhouse Moan) played with them for two gigs when they reunited and came through Dallas. Great bunch of guys and both nights are ones I will never forget. I still have the signed tour poster from 2004. RIP George Kenny.
Great finds with the ephemera this time, soo, uuhh, have you seen Barbenheimer yet from last year? Also with Brimfield Flea Market, You and Mr. Stacks have to go sometime soon, it's like going to the University of flea markets!
It's one of those videos I'm gonna have to go back and watch in slow motion to be able to see all the little treasures hidden in the totes. Was it Tony's voice I heard at the first spot you stoped? That footed bowl at the first box you looked at the tote man's was so beautiful!! If I was there shopping with you, I'd have gotten that little concrete pup at 7:21 for you to put at your porch. 😍 I'm assuming you're not into vintage colognes either, right? I was trying so hard to read the label on that one at 3:21 but didn't manage it. Great flea market day, I mean I love the rein, but probably wouldn't prefer it while beeing out digging for treasures, but still... 🙃
Hi & happy Thursday! Those boxes from Jimmy - jealous! Well, envious (that's better, right?). Though it looks like some of those albums are the confounded magnetic ones. Did you grab that small red photo album about 1:30? Couldn't tell where they were; thought they might be out west. Just shows it always pays to open every album - even new looking ones - as you've said, they might have old photos. Glad you got the "prize Leghorn." Fun to look through all the stuff over your shoulder. Hope you have great Memorial Day plans (Oh, what was the "Lest we Forget" book?) - and have a great afternoon!
I didn't grab the red photo album. They were older photos in a newer album, so like you said, you have to look! (Though I need to remind myself of that more often!) The Lest We Forget book was a register book for a funeral, saved from the dumpster! It really is amazing what was thrown away, well perhaps amazing isn't the right word. I told Jimmy that he has lived one of my dreams - finding a whole dumpster full of ephemera! At least the cleanout company allowed for him to dumpster dive & save what he could. Wish he could have gotten the word about the cleanout from the start, he would have been able to save so much more. Your mail is in the line-up for mail day, so looking forward to seeing what you have sent. Still working on a History Behind the Paper from one of your previous mail days... the rabbit holes were endless!
Back from breakfast time to dinner time. If black coffee counts as breakfast. Anyway, Foghorn Leghorn. And you left him there. I can hear him, screaming after you: That woman, I say that woman is cold as a nudist on an iceberg. Nah, Im making more noise than a couple of skeletons throwin’ a fit on a tin roof, so I better stop before I make more confusion than a mouse in a burlesque show.
@@PaperandMoose I couldn't help but notice that you had brought Foghorn Leghorn home, but not before I had hit post. And I don't tend to delete comments that have been up for more than a minute or so. I consider it cowardly. And then I was so proud that I actually remembered some Foghorn phrases, that I would hardly have taken the comment away anyway. Yes. I know.
Usually, the regulars either wait until you are a finished with a tote or if they know you, they politely ask if you are interested in an item in a box that you might have pushed aside. If they are considerate, I have no problem telling them that I don't want certain things in a box and they can look through it too.
Well the weather held long enough to get treasure hunting done. Lot of paper and looked good. Do they still make paper doll books or are they NIW virtual on a phone or tablet? 👍👍
That's a great question! I do know that on the tablet/Ipad there are many games for dressing up baby dolls. Next time that I'm at the book store, I'll have to take a look in the children's section. The tote actually had a paper doll book of Prince Harry & Megan, but I'm guessing that was considered more of a "collector piece".
For my channel name, I wanted something that had to do with paper (since I love ephemera). I had the Victorian die cut of the lady with, what I thought was, a moose. So... Paper and Moose it is!
I think that the sorting is what takes me the longest amount of time. I'll sort by what goes to the flea market, what will go on online, and what I need to do a bit more research on or gather like items together to sell in a bundle.

Loved paper dolls! I had a huge collection! I'd even cut out figures from my grandmother's pattern books.
Love the paper dolls - my sisters and I would play with them for hours!!!
Paper dolls were such a great part of my childhood!

Paper dolls! I LOVED! Paper dolls and when I see them out there, wow! People want crazy money. Fun fun
Me too! I would play with them for hours.
Oh, me too! I feel like I'm showing my age, but I don't care. I LOVED my paper dolls more than Barbie. Barbie was a close second.
I'm another one who loved paper dolls.
You got hooked up with some great stuff!!! You should have a fun time going through those totes with a cup of tea and a muffin!!!❤❤❤

Those Ball jar lids are great. Pick up a few canning jars and those lids and you have good refrigerator food storage.
