I think you will need to do a bit more research on some things, so that you get a fair price for them, but I think this was a great experience and I am excited for you also.
More research will have to be done, for sure! I'm not familiar at all with high-end fashion items, so much of that will require research. The jewelry will be a bit easier to research :0)

We know you will use your research skills to learn all about the designers and such. Remember that old costume and even some newer costume (eg: Joan Rivers) can be worth decent money. Dr. Lori has many great tips on jewelry and how to identify it in her binge watch section. She has worked for Museums authenticating all sorts of items and is quite knowledgeable. She will also drill into you that someone who appraises your items should NEVER buy your items or offer to find you a buyer for them as it is unethical. I'm not sure how these pallet auctions work, but this would all have belonged to the same person (at least the fashion stuff)? Hard to imagine why someone would leave such high value stuff over an unpaid storage bill. I guess I can think of reasons - but no matter - it's your amazing payday! Congratulations! There's the stuff you want to find that you collect - and you've found some amazing things - and then there's the stuff that you want to find so you can continue to support doing what you love. I think this is mostly the latter - on steroids! I don't know any of the brands either - except Crouch & Fitzgerald. They made high-end travel trunks (wooden, with slats, etc.) more than 100 years ago. The trunks still command a premium on the antiques market. I know very little about this stuff but I predict you are going to come away with a 5-figure profit - 100X what you paid or more. I can't tell you how happy I am for you - that your move to quit the job you hated - a pretty courageous move - to do something you love and make other people happy - has worked out so well, Have a terrific Thursday afternoon and weekend. This couldn't have happened to a nicer and more deserving person! Watching your excitement & humility ("I am grateful for what I have," you said a few times, and, "I'm not afraid to say I don't know the makers.") was a privilege.

Well, I've seen the future and it's a no... that video will be out next week! Being a viewer from the start, you've seen all of my previous storage adventures, and I like to think that I provide a true view of what it's like for the "regular" person to buy a storage unit. Many can't afford to spend thousands on a unit but want to buy something just to try it out or see how it is. This was a big win for me, but I know that doesn't happen with every auction purchase. No doubt I'll still be sifting through open boxes of expired food hidden in a tote in a future unit or perhaps I'll come across a single, small old photo album and that will save the storage unit for me. This unit adds to my list of adventures but will be remembered when I wear the "Elmer Fudd" hat or keep my ears warm with the earmuffs. The unit that paid my dental bills and hopefully more! I've mentioned in a few other comments that I took the prints to an auction house today. It will be around a month before they will be put in their sale but am excited to see what the results of those will be!

Maybe check with a reseller who is an expert in fine and constume jewellry. I just started following Hudson Vintage who is a specialist and she also takes pieces on consignment. If this isn't your "area" you might achieve more by letting someone have a look at it in case they will buy the lot from you, or choose some pieces worth consigning to sell for you. What a great score!!! We are all so happy for you.
I can hardly believe your good luck. So very happy for you. Please take your time researching your expensive finds! The jewelry made me the most excited & research each piece. Even costume jewelry can bring good $$$. I know it'll take lots of time, but I don't want you to look back & see a piece you sold for $25, that's really worth $150+. The art could be big $$$ too, get more than one appraisal. I don't think anything here is flea market...you just got upgraded to the Designer level. I'm not sure how these pallet auctions work, but this would all have belonged to the same person (at least the fashion stuff)? Hard to imagine why someone would leave such high value stuff over an unpaid storage bill. I guess I can think of reasons - but no matter - it's your amazing payday! Congratulations! There's the stuff you want to find that you collect - and you've found some amazing things - and then there's the stuff that you want to find so you can continue to support doing what you love. I think this is mostly the latter - on steroids! I don't know any of the brands either - except Crouch & Fitzgerald. They made high-end travel trunks (wooden, with slats, etc.) more than 100 years ago. The trunks still command a premium on the antiques market. I know very little about this stuff but I predict you are going to come away with a 5-figure profit - 100X what you paid or more. I can't tell you how happy I am for you - that your move to quit the job you hated - a pretty courageous move - to do something you love and make other people happy - has worked out so well, Have a terrific Thursday afternoon and weekend. This couldn't have happened to a nicer and more deserving person! Watching your excitement & humility ("I am grateful for what I have," you said a few times, and, "I'm not afraid to say I don't know the makers.") was a privilege.

I wouldn't be able to fake knowing about all of this higher end fashion items if I tried! (As I'm wearing a Pburg football hoodie from 2006 and sweatpants I got from a rummage sale.) It's okay to not know and it's okay to mispronounce label names... I was just trying to breathe at one point! Haha Now will the next storage unit I purchase be this good? Well, I've seen the future and it's a no... that video will be out next week! Being a viewer from the start, you've seen all of my previous storage adventures, and I like to think that I provide a true view of what it's like for the "regular" person to buy a storage unit. Many can't afford to spend thousands on a unit but want to buy something just to try it out or see how it is. This was a big win for me, but I know that doesn't happen with every auction purchase. No doubt I'll still be sifting through open boxes of expired food hidden in a tote in a future unit or perhaps I'll come across a single, small old photo album and that will save the storage unit for me. This unit adds to my list of adventures but will be remembered when I wear the "Elmer Fudd" hat or keep my ears warm with the earmuffs. The unit that paid my dental bills and hopefully more! I've mentioned in a few other comments that I took the prints to an auction house today. It will be around a month before they will be put in their sale but am excited to see what the results of those will be!

I think your authenticity is one of your biggest draws and why you have many very loyal followers who sometime trust you with family heirlooms and their personal stories. Maybe next April Fools, as a joke you could stage a storage unit where you find anboriginal Declaration of Independence, a Gutenberg Bible, a forgotten Picasso, Jimmy Hoffa’s remains, Amelia Earhardt’s Lockheed Electra, an a photographic inventory of Area 51. I recommend taking your time with the jewelry saw some very nice looking things in your hands. Make no assumptions. Those red graduated bead necklace cold be amber and those hands piece with ivory could be jade. Amazing score regardless!!

I haven't even touched the shoes yet! I've sorted some of the jewelry and have sold some of the "plain" 14k necklaces, meaning they were just regular chains. The artwork has been dropped off at an auction house for an upcoming auction. Just still a little bit excited :0)

Maybe check with a reseller who is an expert in fine and constume jewellry. I just started following Hudson Vintage who is a specialist and she also takes pieces on consignment. If this isn't your "area" you might achieve more by letting someone have a look at it in case they will buy the lot from you, or choose some pieces worth consigning to sell for you.

I can hardly believe your good luck. So very happy for you. Please take your time researching your expensive finds! The jewelry made me the most excited & research each piece. Even costume jewelry can bring good $$$. I know it'll take lots of time, but I don't want you to look back & see a piece you sold for $25, that's really worth $150+. The art could be big $$$ too, get more than one appraisal. I don't think anything here is flea market...you just got upgraded to the Designer level. Keep some nice things for yourself--you'll still have plenty to sell & look great! So very happy for you!
