Isaac Rivas ok thats a little far id like to meet this guy cause i use a lot of his tutorials to memorize fun knots to pass time on boy scout camping trips
I have been frustrated for so long because I just can't get this right! I have just now, one year later after giving up , to come back and try again. I now see that you move the strand ever so subtly now and then but without explaining and that is the problem for me. You really need to explain every move !
People have been using needles to help tie knots for a very long time. The nail knot is a good example. And the rubber band can easily be replaced with a hitch knot.
@@Paracordguild wait does this have to be tied on a mandrel? I need the wrapping to stick permanently without any boiling water or glue, and my handles are typically octagonal.
I use Turks Head knots for what you describe. I use needle nose pliers to tighten the knots at the end and you'd have to cut them off my staves to remove them.
I found that on my previous knot, a longer, 2.5" curved needle made coming up between two lines easier, and the same curved needle made going under all the lines around the mandrill easier too. I finished these knots by burying the ends, and tacking them with a tiny strip of hot-glue to the two adjacent lines.
@@KnottingKnots work on getting or making a mandrel with or accepts pins. I started with a cork and pin needles I even used tape as my fid. I learned on hemp not something as nice as paracord. You can do it.
I am enjoying your tutorials a great deal...thank you taking the time. I have looked at several different mandrel knots and I need some help please. I would like to make a knot that is wider than what you show, perhaps four to five inches when complete. Which (if any) can be made this wide? Most seem to be too complex for making them wider. I appreciate your help!
Hey! The lacing needle can be bought in leatherworking shops such as Tandy. Online shops such as Amazon, Ebay also carry them. A lot of custom ones also exist, you can find some on Etsy and in various paracord groups on Facebook. In the past I have made my own as well: www.paracordguild.com/how-make-paracord-fid I hope that helps! Mark
In the very beginning, you really should have shown the back side of the mandrel instead of saying "we now go under one because earlier we went over one". As a novice, I don't know how you laid the first over pass and my cords keep bunching up.
Look up Ashley's book of knots. It's a solid starting reference point. To answer your question more directly. Yes, this is an old sailors knot if I'm not mistaken.
bonjour, tout le monde 😉 quelqu'um peut m'aider svp , comment faire pour elever le noeu.? ou le noeu doit rester sur place pour décorer? Merci d'avence pour la réponse.😆😊
Epiphany! This is the same as a multi-stand knot. Make a loop, and go through it from behind. Make a loop, and go through both. Make a loop, and go through all three!
Im now Over One Kenobi thanks to your videos
Totally splendid, a lot of us knotheads would still be in the dark without you, thanks.

Very nice and, as always, great instruction. One question: how does one finish the knot?
Ya ! That's the question.
Love the knot, but how do you finish it? Just a beginner with paracord.
can’t tell what the back really looks like.. going over then under seems to make a huge x and my wrap is way lopsided. Any advice??

It's a video.
Pay attention.
How do you end the knot?
I would like to see you do this knot without the elastic band and the knitting needle, just like they would have done back in 1808.
Hi!
Why would I want to avoid using tools that make the job easier?
People have been using needles to help tie knots for a very long time. The nail knot is a good example. And the rubber band can easily be replaced with a hitch knot.
Can this be used to cover a bead?
would this work as a pommel/heel knot on a whip or would it only be good at a transition knot?
You can use it as a fancy knot. It is actually tied on a mandrel and stays put when tightened.

Excellent knot/tutorial. Thanks.

A nicer fid than most, more tapered? Did you make this one too?
Can you make this into a keychain

How long should the parachord be?
Your the Bomb my Friend, excellent tutorial as always thank you!!

Where do these knots come from?? Are they old nautical knots??

What is the name of this needle?

Je suis sûr que ce nœud est seulement pour usage décorative, si je comprends bien que tu estimes :)
Merci beaucoup ;-)

Muy bueno gracias.

I can't get it to come out even like yours.
I tied the knot, tightened it then rolled it.
Don't give up, tie a few more and you will get a hang of it!
