    OK so I watched a few other people's videos on this and did not get it.. I got it the first time with this video. Thank you. I love your of teaching. You give us time to think about what you are saying and then time to do it so we can keep pace with you. You are a super star...

    Great video, the disappointment is not showing how to finish, it's OK if your in the know, but many people, me included are novices, hence no idea how to finish.

      My favorite way to finish any wrap job is using a separate piece of cord. Fold it in half to for a loop that will stick out of the end of your wrap. Wrap the last several wraps/knots over it. Then put the tag ends thru the loop and pull on the 2 tag ends of your separate piece, pulling the tag of your wrap under the wrap itself. Nice clean finish.

      They actually made a seperate video for that.

      @@encendercolores1684well I just scrolled through most of their video list and did not see one video on finishing. If it is there most people won't take the time to search, how hard is it to show how to finish a wrap when instructing on doing a wrap.

    How long were the strands when you started out and did you gut them (take out the inside strings)?

    Is this still 1 foot per inch? Is it more? How do I calculate how much I need?

  • @Cam____
    @Cam____ 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I tightened it after every hitch, but it’s still loose, the hitches move side to side very easily. Definitely not suitable for a grip. Am I doing something wrong?

    I have a walking stick made of polypropylene, which is very slippery. Was thinking about using hot glue or maybe double sided tape to make the braid stay in place.
    Any suggestions?

    • @maleathomas3862
      @maleathomas3862 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't know about double sided tape, but hot glue easily peels off of really smooth surfaces. I don't think it would work well for this purpose. Without knowing exactly how your stick is formed (hollow, solid core, stalk straight, etc.), it's hard to give a good suggestion. One that might work, though, would be to drill a hole through it and feed one long length of cord through, using each end to hitch. (That might be a terrible idea, but just a brainstorm. Good luck!)

    • @pahu47
      @pahu47 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      On another forum a user suggested using bicycle tube under the wrap. It also has some 'give' to make the grip feel softer. Good luck if you did not find answer yet.

    • @MF-le7fp
      @MF-le7fp ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Drill a hole through the stick where you want the top of the wrap to be. Pass the paracord through it until you have the strands at even lengths on each side. Do the wrap. It ain't goin no damned where....

    How much cord per inch?

    • @cindyolive7525
      @cindyolive7525 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I tried this starting with 66" of each of 2 colors and the wrap was 6" long, so I would say that a safe bet would be to allow one foot for each inch.

      Hey!
      It depends on what length you want to cover and the diameter of the object. I recommend doing a short test length to see how much cord you use up.
