This was very useful and well demonstrated. I bought 60m leash for my dog (what was I thinking!!) and it was too long to carry to open field to have a good run with my dog. I just cut the leash down to 20m and used this knot to make a loop handle. It worked perfect. Thank you. Not the leash’s shorter I think I can manage better.
OMG THANK YOU for this video!! I make and sell horse and dogs stuff in rope material and have had trouble with how to do a proper loop for the leash. This really helped me. I love you!
And this is how you make a great youtube instructional video... Clear camera work... dark background with bright subject and James Bond doing the narration.
Nice loop knot! I believe that I’ve tied this knot before in a single piece of cording. I found it in Ashley’s book of knots. I then saw it again in JD of TIY’s book ,Fusion knots, under the name of the Eternity knot.
Thanks for the video. Would you know how to tie a knot for the dog, but that it can be released on its own in a few minutes, while I have time to leave the farm? All the best
OK, this is an interesting knot. I'm curious as to why you would use this knot instead of a bowline which is much simpler and faster to tie. The only conclusion I can come to is that this knot is more decorative than functional. I can tie a bowline around my waist with one hand in a matter of seconds if need be. OTOH, I spent hours making a 16 strand Russian Sennit about a yard long and the Chief Bosun gave me a Bosun's Whistle for my effort. That was on a Reserve Minesweeper before I went to Naval Training Center Orlando to become a Nuke ET Reactor Operator. He taught me a bunch of interesting things like how to make a heaving line (a Turks Head with a chunk of lead in the middle on the end of a line), the Russian Sennit and a few of the other Naval Traditions knotworks. I already knew most of the basics from being in the Boy Scouts (back when it was only boys all those years ago...). Yes, I was in the Navy... On submarines... Not a lot of seamanship on those though...
Would there be a way to have a knot similar to this, but have the loop adjustable? (like how a hangmans noose is adjustable) Have been searching for something more decorative than the whole noose thing.
Fantastic video & demonstration. Question: is the loop fixed or will it slip ... forget my question because I can now tie this knot and find out for myself. "Liked" & subscribed. Thanks for the post.
Well...I'm thinkng that it might ber good for use as a key chain fob with a metal loop or a minimal sized knife lanyard. All that you need is a little imagination.
He is in Honduras..... He used to live in Italy but because of all the heat coming down on him he had to escape to a small island in Central America... Good old Pasquale..
Surely you meant "brooch", not "broach"... they're pronounced the same, but to "broach" something is to make a hole in it. What women wear as a pendant is spelled "brooch". Otherwise a good video!
Well, my utilitarian if not troglodyte friend, for it's usefulness to be decorative of course. I just wish I could follow this tutorial to accomplish more than ugly slipknots. I'm near certain he's snuck a deceitful edit for some small sadistic thrill.

Dude sounds Australian.
Yea he's an Aussie. Great point of view as well. Easy to follow and do.
Totally agree. Perfect presentation.
Thanks bro, saved my life
Not mine
Very good if you teach knots during the early school days play n learn

Thanks so much. Lovely and secure knot. I used this to make the loops on dog leashes.
Bess Rapp, your fat fingers could never make that "Mistake Knot" so many other knots do the same thing better... This is stupid knot!!!
Beautiful knot!!! You are very experienced 👍
great info I have seen a few that are made so fast I gave up on them, thank you for actually teaching on your videos
Martin Trevino 👍 Agree. Beautiful.👍
A nifty, adjustable loop that is more than "pretty handsome". Nicely produced video.
Thank you! Nice and slow and I'm confident I can follow along. Keep it up!
Excellent tutorial. Done slow enough and close up enough to be able to follow.
Beautiful knot.

Just love your knot videos. Simple, clean well photographed. Keep up the great work.
Great tutorial!
I miss your videos.
Took a few tries, but I got it
Amazing. BOWLINE ! See you at the bottom mark BROACHER.
Beautiful
real lifesaver
Great knot
So is the point of this loop or tie to avoid the weekends knots give to line under tension?
Is this knot strong compared to the Bowline or Anglers?
simple and neat. can be a small kids project to just spend quality time with them.
thanks bro you're a life ender
Love recommendations, gonna try this out some time
share is interesting. good luck

I am sober (really) so when is a good time to used this knot?
I wonder if the high guy has checked back in yet...
Thank you.
this might make a good adjustable tree strap for hammock camping.

I wiped out on one of those curves... I'll stick to sewing a loop in the end of my lines...
Fantastic video & demonstration. Question: is the loop fixed or will it slip ... forget my question because I can now tie this knot and find out for myself. "Liked" & subscribed. Thanks for the post.

It would be good if you flip the knot over and show what it looks like on that side too.
Really makes me want to stop ripping my nails and my hands might be as handsome as his.
Great vidz!! QUESTION: is this knot strong enough to support weight / stress?
thanks.
Yes
I'm waaaay to stoned for this. I'll check back in later.
Best comment ever
The knot looks like the one used in the jon bennet ramsey case, burke could tie knots so could the dad,
What is the preferential use for this type of knot.......
bristol He's put a couple of uses in the description.
The final appearance of the node is very similar to Eternity. In my opinion, it would not be the case in the video somehow node Eternity mention.
74kork are you talking about astrology?
Genial thankyou
Excellent
good hitch
you figure this knot will work with 2 lines of paracord in parallel ?
a bit fiddly but still so nice looking
凄いけどどうやったの???

What are the merits?

Muy pero muy bueno

Fantastik
The lupe knot is much easiar.
What is its use?
Learn how to spell, kid.
Phillip A I just found this vid. He's put a couple of uses in the description.
Phillip A, It's a mistake they are trying to explain!!! ;-) jerks....
Well...I'm thinkng that it might ber good for use as a key chain fob with a metal loop or a minimal sized knife lanyard. All that you need is a little imagination.
I think it's to allow the line to maintain its strength under tension, knots weaken lines! Still I'm knot sure😉
Where is Pasquale?
He is in Honduras..... He used to live in Italy but because of all the heat coming down on him he had to escape to a small island in Central America... Good old Pasquale..
Why wouldn’t you just make a bowline

I assume this way of learning how to tie the knot is way easier in person, as all I'm getting from this video is more and more frustrated.
To better explain and show that he can not. Practice and give up after a bad first attempt. My opinion
The thumbnail looks so wrong
Why would you tie a knot like this for?
Well, my utilitarian if not troglodyte friend, for it's usefulness to be decorative of course. I just wish I could follow this tutorial to accomplish more than ugly slipknots. I'm near certain he's snuck a deceitful edit for some small sadistic thrill.
Can you please go slower for those like me who are slow. Lol
Don’t tie this on a garage door pull for a nascar garage.
Stupid unnecessary knot. That is someone's mistake....
