William Patton yes because everyone is always going to be dropping their guns in the sand and mud all the time so it's a huge deal. People buy into these "torture" tests on TH-cam way too much.
I strongly suspect that the FBI did not do a straight low bid contract. In low bid, the item that meets all the specifications, and is low bidder will be selected, but the method typically used by large federal agencies includes the above requirements, but in addition the submissions are basically in a kind of “shoot off.” A test protocol is followed with typically ten samples from each vender to include: Reliability / durability tests (typically 10,000 rounds), drop tests, corrosion tests, sand and dust tests, accuracy tests, plugged barred tests, and parts interchangeability tests. (I hope that I not forgotten any.) There is a bit more to the process, but that part of the award process is conducted by agency procurement. I wish I could recall the official name of each method, but it has some years since I was directly involved in weapon procurement as an agency representative.
I have shot Taurus and Springfield a lot, never handled a sig, and only shot glocks a little. My question would be, looking at the sig vs. the glock, does it make sense for agencies to flip flop between them with what seems like such a difference in grip angle? It seems like getting a sight picture would feel a lot different on those two guns and you wouldn't want your agents building the muscle memory on one frame and then switching to the other because of a lower bid. I'm far from a professional shooter and my concern might not even make sense at all, but it just strikes me as kinda strange.
+Eric Holladay your point is completely valid, and I agree. When you think like a big business(government is a business), concerns for employees often takes a backseat to profits. At the end of the day you cant go wrong with either choice and you definitely won't ve disappointed in either of them. Stay safe everyone be vigilant and always carry.
Interesting, I had them both and sold the sig and turned to the glock 19 for my EDC. I don't feel I'm giving up anything. Lighter gun to carry and the lower bore axis makes up for the lighter weight in follow up shots.
My first issue pistol after leaving the service was a Sig P228. Nice piece, but we had issues with rust around the front sight (Dallas/Ft. Worth area), as it was not uncommon to wear in the belt under a tucked in shirt. Also, the roll pin on the breach block would move out under repeated firing, and were pushed in with any flat surface, usually a pocket knife. Probably not the best for the pin. You put these side by side without the price on them most would pick the p226. TheG19 feels like a toy gun, and the Sig feels like a gun you fight with!
It don't matter if the navy and military use sigs or glocks because if they ever go to war they won't rely on either. They'll first use their primary weapon which is most likely a rifle.
I have both, but am partial to the lower bore axis of the G19, along with it's cleaner lines and indestructible nature. Mine is bone stock and I love the stock sights. Currently looking to pick up a CZ 75B in matte stainless.
Good general review of the 2 pistols. I found it very interesting how when there is a reward or prize involved there are no thumbs down for the video 😊
For the common citizen it comes down to practicality. I feel that overall as a size-efficient carry gun and simplicity of operation and maintenance, the Glock 19 beats the Sig. The Sig however, is a better built piece and gets the nod for aesthetics, craftsmanship and overall quality.
Christopher J. Perske It's called the European grip. Was popular in the 80s/early 90s and is why a lot of pistols have the curve and ridges at the front of the trigger guard, including the Glock and the Sig. It's fallen out of favour, but I still use it as it's what I learned and it works for me.
I've been thinking about getting a Glock 19 for the longest. I've owned a G23 and I now own a Glock 30 and a Glock 26 both Gen 4 versions. I also own a Sig P320. I wanted a P226 but it's a bit pricey for me. I love and shoot all of these pistols well. However I still want a Glock 19 in sniper grey color.
+Vincent Evans Glock 19 is definitely needed in any arsenal, but the p226 is one of the all time greats as well. Skip drinks or eating out for a month and buy both haha
+jayjay D yea, I've heard not good things about the mosquito. Apparently a lot of feeding issues and being finicky with ammo. Depends on what she's using it for(carry gun, range, etc) there are quite a few solid options for 22 pistols..
+jayjay D my "go to" in that category is the ruger 22/45. It's not the prettiest, or easily concealable, but that's not what you're getting it for. It's a tried and true shooter that goes bang every time and has a long history of reliability. Very accurate, very modestly priced, very reliable :).
i have a 19 and a p229. both are new. for me, the sig feels so natural in my hand. i do have larger hands. sig just shoots best for me. i love my g21 cause of the size. but i will only buy sigs from now on
true! but its hard to try other firearms out when you live in commiefornia. i got an hk usp 40 i love and which was also my first firearm i bought. but when it comes to buying new, i try and do as much research as possible.
I love the style and class of Sig and my first gun in 2008 was a P239 (still have it) but the cost and way I can shoot my G19s even after being away from them for long periods of time can't be beat. Consistency of trigger pull and lighter weight for the same capacity is also a plus to me as well but even with that I'll be getting a P225 as soon as I can scrounge up the fundage...
whats the deal of putting your index finger of your support hand on the trigger guard. you're the second person I seen that does that sorry to tell you that the index finger of your support hand doesn't help out with your shot groups if your index finger of your support hand is on the trigger guard
It's about cost and weight. The Glock is lighter and carries the same capacity. And I'm sure it cost the government less than the Sig. Both are reliable so why not go Glock
Military fire arms have to have mechanical safety like the 1911 m9 beretta, now sig. That's why most police units use glock. Draw, aquire shoot, less time when seconds matter. (I know 2 years late )
If glocks are so damn great why do most people end up changing out sights, barrels, triggers, etc. I see Salient arms, Agency arms and Taren Tactical all doing major changes to glocks to get them to where a Sig or HK is in stock configuration. Sorry Glocktard, Sig, HK and yes even the 1911 are far more used firearms than the Glock and just as reliable. The grip angle sucks on Glock, the plastic sights suck, the trigger is horrible and they had to copy Springfield on the dual recoil spring design. Sig P320 has the best striker fired trigger on the market today especially the X-Carry. Springfield is just as reliable and has better ergonomics than Glock, the only Glock has going for them over Springfield is that it's been on the market longer. If Springfield came out with the XD at the same time Glock came out with the G17 there would be just as many agencies carrying Springfield's as Glocks. Let's be realistic in the first place, you can't compare a $500 NIB striker fired Glock to a DA/SA $1200 Sig or HK, apples and oranges. Hmmm....wonder why the military chose the Sig as their new sidearm? Could it be that the Sig is far superior?....uhh yeah...it is!
Lol! Dude, I'm going to do it. They are too sexy not to. I'm afraid I've depleted my toy fund at the moment. It all went to ammo, mags, AK, and stripped lowers. Hopefully some time before the end of the year. Looks like the perfect Christmas present to me. Ha!

Nice video - both nice pistols. I do not own any Glocks (some friends do and love them) but plenty of Sigs. You put these side by side without the price on them most would pick the p226. TheG19 feels like a toy gun, and the Sig feels like a gun you fight with!
It don't matter if the navy and military use sigs or glocks because if they ever go to war they won't rely on either. They'll first use their primary weapon which is most likely a rifle.
sweet two of my Favorites..
+GT FROM AG yessir, two of the best
just curious, you displayed three pistols but didn't mention the third...
nice video too, thanks
+bkerchev the 3rd one was also a p226. I have two of them, one in 9mm(legion). And the other in 40s&w(Extreme).
good vids. just bought a g43 for a concealed carry firearm.
+1blu3monk3y1 not a bad choice, I prefer the 26 myself, but Glock is a Glock :)
I noticed that your gun raises very little when you shoot. I'm new to shooting, can you advise me on how I can do that?
Just subscribed. Very interested to see how the Sig and Glock stack up.
I have both, but am partial to the lower bore axis of the G19, along with it's cleaner lines and indestructible nature. Mine is bone stock and I love the stock sights. Currently looking to pick up a CZ 75B in matte stainless.
+Lance Schaffer I love cz!! I'm looking at the p09 here veryyyy soon.
I love both Sig and, Glock, I own a 19X and have several Sig’s and, both are outstanding
Thanks. helpful video
Sig is a Mercedes while Glock is Toyota Camary
Sig and Merc are Germanic but the similarity ends there. Sig P226/229 have reliability that Merc can only dream of.
Was your first shot double action? Second shot has super short reset. So maybe the difference going from Glock to Sig.
I subscribed to you channel a couple of days ago and I really enjoy it!
+Sheriff Bear thanks brother, I appreciate the support. Welcome to the community :)
I also hear MARSOC is replacing their special M1911s with Glock 19s
+Evan Graham (Evan Arkadia) I actually just heard that too.
Good general review of the 2 pistols. I found it very interesting how when there is a reward or prize involved there are no thumbs down for the video 😊
There's 153 dislikes now. 😅
nice video love comparison videos
+Velvet Steele thanks brother
For the common citizen it comes down to practicality. I feel that overall as a size-efficient carry gun and simplicity of operation and maintenance, the Glock 19 beats the Sig. The Sig however, is a better built piece and gets the nod for aesthetics, craftsmanship and overall quality.
+Patriot Bill very well said. I agree! Sig could do better with factory capacity, but there also cheaper aftermarket magazines that cover that.
I want a da/sa handgun for my next purchase, cant decide between p226, fnx, mk23, usp, cz75, or a hi power. Too hard
that grip is interesting with the support hand pointer finger on the trigger guard serrations.
Lol!!
Love comparison videos
Sig legion a class act!
I love my 226,but I think the 226 elite stainless is batter?
+Tou Da to each their own, I prefer the matte colors personally, but I don't say no to sigs lol.
just got a glock 19 a few months ago and love it , eastern shore of maryland cambridge md here
+plow another Marylander, I feel your pain lol! Good choice on the Glock, loving that thing :).
Just got my first glock 42.police trade in like new and i love it
+True Shooter I have yet to put hands on one. I like the idea though :).
Yea go sportsmans outdoor super store. No shipping 379 like new gen 4 and knight sights
My wife's Sig Mosquito is a POS....I'm looking for a replacement. Any suggestions?
+jayjay D yea, I've heard not good things about the mosquito. Apparently a lot of feeding issues and being finicky with ammo. Depends on what she's using it for(carry gun, range, etc) there are quite a few solid options for 22 pistols..
Thanks for the response! My wife loves to goof off like me and mainly plink but needs a good/light/reliable survival gun if need be.
+jayjay D my "go to" in that category is the ruger 22/45. It's not the prettiest, or easily concealable, but that's not what you're getting it for. It's a tried and true shooter that goes bang every time and has a long history of reliability. Very accurate, very modestly priced, very reliable :).
Good vid, my edc is S&W MP. looking at my first Glock. late bloomer
i have a 19 and a p229. both are new. for me, the sig feels so natural in my hand. i do have larger hands. sig just shoots best for me. i love my g21 cause of the size. but i will only buy sigs from now on
+MikeAnshit I love sigs and Glock, but I wouldn't be so quick to abandoned other firearms. After all, variety is the spice of life ;).
true! but its hard to try other firearms out when you live in commiefornia. i got an hk usp 40 i love and which was also my first firearm i bought. but when it comes to buying new, i try and do as much research as possible.
Glock seemed to be more accurate as well I take Glock all day!! I have a 19 great gun!!
+Frank Bama I actually really agree with you! I shoot my Glocks much better after having been away longer, it's strange, yet true.
I wish my local shooting range had a P226 for rental I've been wanting to try that gun for a while
+SHMeter MAN one of the all time best brother. Has a slight learning curve if you aren't familiar with "hammer guns", but she's reliable all day!!
whats the deal of putting your index finger of your support hand on the trigger guard. you're the second person I seen that does that sorry to tell you that the index finger of your support hand doesn't help out with your shot groups if your index finger of your support hand is on the trigger guard
Michael Ruiz its old school. The grooves in front of the trigger guard are for doing that:).
Could it be that the Sig is far superior?....uhh yeah...it is!
great video
PPQ Anyone?
sweet video man :)
Good vid but there’s a pretty big price gap in 226 and the 19
Another great video bro. I'm definitely a Glock guy however I've always wanted to get a Sig as well. Time to start a Sig fund I guess.
+Craig Bamba DO ITTT!!! A sig fund needs to be a thing for sure. Like I said, if you can afford both... You have the dream team.
Lol! Dude, I'm going to do it. They are too sexy not to. I'm afraid I've depleted my toy fund at the moment. It all went to ammo, mags, AK, and stripped lowers. Hopefully some time before the end of the year. Looks like the perfect Christmas present to me. Ha!

Sig Sauer all day long
Well done.
+Timothy Harris thank you sir, always nice to hear positive feedback :).
i got a mk25 great gun, still want a 19
Golly gee, I love hammer fire pistols, striker fire feels weird to me! I do understand the advantages of striker fire when concealed carrying, but I would take a Sig Sauer over Glock any day no matter the circumstances. Sig Sauer is perfection for gosh sakes! Just keeping it clean my friend!
Subbed!
Great video as you can attest to all the comments & debates !!
Own 2 Glocks 17&19 saving up for p226 🦂 can't wait. Because it's the internet everything must be true & everyone is an expert.
"It's a matter of preference." Buy what you can afford & enjoy.
It's like looking at Olivia Wilde (Sig) sitting next to Molly Ringwald (Glock)
+Dirky Dirk hahaha! I had to look up molly, very funny.
I don't think it's fair to compare a 30 year old woman with a 50 year old woman..lol
The fbi and military need to start carrying the 10mm auto.
Fuck! I edc a glock 30, really want a p226 or g19. Can’t decide between both
great video love the glock but they are both awesome guns
+tactical sheepdog I love both!! They're excellent firearms.
Fix your grip that's why you are throwing rounds. Focus on your push pull with your firing and support hand.
A lot carry customized 1911s
theChestnutMtnTinman yes they do...
great video. i love them both, but the sig is out of my price range. i had a p250 last year and sold it. i still have my first g 17.
+rich wilson skip going out for a month and buy a p226 brother, you won't regret it and can be proud to pass it down to your kids one day :)
It all comes down to dollars for me, I think if money does not matter the sig's precision built firearms if taken care of, can be passed down to generations of family use.
Nice video - both nice pistols. I do not own any Glocks (some friends do and love them) but plenty of Sigs. For me it is simple, Sigs and CZs (DW) for Semi Autos and Smith and Dan Wesson for Revolvers. I am sure Glock is a good value as well, but I am old and just want what works for me. I bought my first Sig (for my wife) in 1994 - it was a 226. She still carries it in her Galco Purse daily and we trust it. I daily carry a S & W 642 with crimson trace laser grips.
