Does it handle AZ winters well or it needs protection?

Just ate this for the 1st time. Does taste like brown sugar and pears. The seed was already germinating inside the fruit.

Like to ask if this rounded fruit type bears in Arizona? I have both varieties but only the pointy one bears in Fallbrook. My market customers prefer the larger rounded variety.

Thank you Raymond. Sorry, no shipping. Have not found a difference in the growing habits between types. Slow, normally 4 years to fruit if grafted.

Got my Sapodilla tree about 15 yrs ago from California Tropical Tree farm in Vista, Flowers every year. But the flowers fall. If there are one or two fruit buds they fall off as well. I'm coastal , edge of a canyon. Any suggestions? Is cross pollination a factor?

try hand pollinating and make sure you are not letting the tree dry out while in flower phase.

+Shamus O'Leary I have a seedling in the ground that survived 17 with moderate damage but only to new/small limbs. It is now 12 years old but only about 5 feet tall and wide. Has yet to flower.
