I’ve been following your channel for a few years and learning all the time. Never really knew what an Indian jujube really taste like. Indian, Vietnamese, and Cambodian people tell me that my fruit taste like the one from their home country. Mines is from seeds and is sweet and tarts. I also have a Taiwan and Thai jujubes along with an array of Chinese jujube varieties. There are many people growing green jujube in my area but they all taste a little different because they are from seeds. Central, Ca. Zone 9b.

How long it took to tart fruiting since it was from seeds?

Greetings from Tucson! Thank you so much for teaching me how to care for my baby jujube. I will protect the first winter and prune off the thorny rootstock branches when I see them!

Making Indian Jujube Sweets is the best. Once you get the jujube to an avg size. Let it ripen in an open area...
Once you do that it'll turn red, it already becomes so sweet. However, if you boil them and put enough sugar to make it syrupy. You'll get Jujube ka Murabba

Interesting, cause here in Arabia we have the native Arabian Jujube (Ziziphus Spina-Christi), it’s smaller in fruit but highly tolerance to abiotic stresses.
Although we grow the Indian jujube for larger fruit yet it’s not efficient in tolerance to stresses as Z. Spina-Christi.
Would be interesting project to use it as a rootstock in Arizona don’t you think?

I have been looking for information on this tree for a long time. I have two here in Jamaica and they have grown like crazy, and they are both fruiting. Unfortunately, they both have a lot of thorns on them but they are growing tall.

The plant I purchased from you seems like is a root. The tree is over 20 ft (I do trim it down to 6 ft in spring) . Every yr we get loads of flowers but so far in 4 yrs no fruit 😢

My Jujube of about 3+ years hasn't taken off like I thought. It's only about 6' high. I gets full sun until 2 or 3 in the afternoon, watered about every 4 days for about 90 minutes depending on the temps, 6" of mulch and gets fertilized 4 times a year. It's pretty healthy although thin.
    Does trimming produce more foliage?
    More water?
    More fertilizer?
    More mulch /compost?
    Thanks Tim the novice
