Hi. I am from Saudi. I used to be in Tempe in the late 70s . I always watch your great videos as I am panning to plant my yard. I leaned a lot . Thanks. Soon I will retire and have time to enjoy planting trees. If I ever have a chance to visit the states , I would certainly try to visit Tempe . If you permit, I might stop by and meet you . You are my cool mentor. Keep up the good work
love seeing those huge mulch piles. i remember my yard looking like that. then a couple years later it's amazing to see how much it breaks down and flattens out. i need more woodchips! :)
Awesome video - I just bought 2 mangos, a Barbados cherry, and a star fruit from Shamus. He's got a large selection and the trees are good sized for the price.
AMAZING! This is so inspiring and his dedication is evident in his yard. Good to know that there are gardens besides Jake Mace's that are beautiful and productive. Thank you for your episode. :)
We have similar sun to you hear in Australia, and I don't find it burns my loquats. White Sapote on the other hand gets sulky in the heat, and needs protection. When I changed my mulch from woodchips to a coarser mix (hedge clippings only and chop and drop) All of a sudden I had a far better habitat for predators and got much less insect attack. Particularly Mantis, small Lizards and spiders.
I'm truly impressed with everything you've accomplished, my old friend. :-) It's obvious how much dedication, care, passion, and love went into the creation of you're wonderful food forest. Anyone who sees this should be inspired by your honest hard work and effort... I know that I am. Maintaining that many plants in the AZ heat is no easy task. Especially to keep them as lush as you've managed, it's incredible.
dude i was getting goosebumps. really impressive. only a year and you have nicer looking plants than you see some in their native area. i subscribed btw
Thank you so much for this video. I live in Central Phoenix and am amazed at what you have accomplished, given our climate. You have definitely inspired me with yard goals.
This is great guys. This shows the general public that they dont have to rely on the crap produced by intensive agriculture. Which is ruining the land, air and water. Spreading the good word!
I want to make my empty yard in Coolidge into something this amazing. I want to come to Shamus' place and plot out how my home can become a fruit and veggie paradise.
I would love a video on how you set up your yard especially while conserving water....I'm in Tucson and the ground gets really hot and it's difficult to water plants for the summer months
"I'll keep quite." Means he'd definitely, absolutely would yank any and all fruit off such a small mango tree. :D Good for me to hear the shade advise on loquats as I've just begun to collect a few for my yard.
omg,The growth rate on the Moringa and the Papaya are beyond anything possible outside of a big greenhouse here in the Bay Area. Mangoes ,Banana's do well...take time. Congrats on a truly great job. Hey- ever try pineapples?
Thank you for this amazing video! I'm so excited to start my edible landscape!!! I need basic starter info. How do I get rid of my grass? Dig it up? Cover it up? I have sprinklers.... would like to convert to water tubes to water plants.
Another excellent video and impressive trees and fruit. I"m from South Eastern New Mexico and would be impressive if I can grow half of what this yards have.
Hello shamus, is there any suggestions of how to plant a passion fruit vine? I want to get your soul, I would like to have it grow along my back fence. Thank you
Hi, I have a few questions and I would appreciate your help. I AM CONFUSED. I grew up in NW IRAN in an old village. No tractors, no powered equipment, no chemicals. our soil there was 1 meter deep black fluff. You could spit seeds on it and things would grow. For hundreds of years, all they did was grow alfalfa, and wild flowers between rows of trees, feed a quarter to cows/goats, and throw the rest under trees. They let wild ducks come and eat pests. Now I live in California. Here in N. California nothing has worked for me. Despite all the goodies. My soil is very heavy clay. Then there is a hard pan 15 inches below surface that even my hammer drill could not handle. I'm planning a fruit orchard. Should I break the hard pan? Or, Should I mound up the soil? As far as soil....... do I mix lava rock/pumice, 🤔 and compost into this clay? I was told to never put compost under, or mix with clay. only put it on top.
Can someone tell me where I can find a place to order large orders of mulch to the buckeye area ? I have tried several landscape supply places but no luck
Most desert gardeners use drip hose irrigation. Some time ago a gardener by the name of John Kohler made aqua jet irrigation a gardening trend for watering plants.
These dudes should travel the globe teaching people how to grow food. That's 1 year worth of growth including the fruit. Imagine the carbon (sugar) load they've removed from the atmosphere and cleaned the air we breathe, plus produced food to feed people.
Hey Shamus! Do you know someone who produces organic Aloe Vera gel? We want to make vegan and organic cosmetics and have a hard time trying to find a product without nasty chemicals like sodium benzoate, edta, etc.... Thank you for this amazing channel and let´s save the world together! Salutations from vegan Germany! Norman

You know when Shamus asks questions, it's not because he does not know the answer, but rather to educate us! Hahaha! A true legend!
O'Leary, ya big beautiful bastard! Its about time you got a new video going!
love seeing those huge mulch piles. i remember my yard looking like that. then a couple years later it's amazing to see how much it breaks down and flattens out. i need more woodchips! :)

Wow... things grow like crazy in his garden. Does the owner add any fertilizer or it's all just thanks to the mulching?
Nice!
Can you please provide me the information (like where, how much for a ton and delivery fee) how to get the mulch? thanks.
Hello shamus, is there any suggestions of how to plant a passion fruit vine? I want to get your soul, I would like to have it grow along my back fence. Thank you
Nice Yard! where do you get the mulch? does city of phoenix have a program?
John Stafford By calling every tree trimmer nearby until someone hooks you up!

What typw of mulch does he use and where did he aquire it in Phoenix?
How much water does it take?
More videos like these:')
If you don't have flood irrigation, you must have a huge water bill!
does craig have an IG? im very curious about the rainbow eucalyptus
I so want to start my garden where did you get the seed or plants that you started with
My wood chips arrived full of roaches. Be careful who you get them from. The chipping was low quality as well. Live and learn.
How do some of these trees grow so big so fast? It's like freakishly fast..
I really think it's the wood chips.
Finally got rid of the man bun I see
Can someone tell me where I can find a place to order large orders of mulch to the buckeye area ? I have tried several landscape supply places but no luck
How is this watered?
ericwantsbbd all hand watered bud
Most desert gardeners use drip hose irrigation. Some time ago a gardener by the name of John Kohler made aqua jet irrigation a gardening trend for watering plants.
Shamus, do you sell fruit trees to customers in Texas via mail? If you do how does one order from you?
In the South we have problems with snails eating our crops because I leave mulch down the snails rather eat dead decaying leaves than my crops

We eat bobado fruits with salt and fresh chilli pepper smash together with salt.
Great yard but many people have HOA troubles so they can not have this kind of thing.
Moringas?
