I’ve watched a lot of videos recently on how to use lighting and this was the most practical and straightforward
I really appreciate your words 🙏🙏
I love how real you are, you explain everything that you are doing. Photos are beautiful but most importantly you are honest & that’s what I love keep up the great work !
Hey good stuff! Just so you know, your C-stand knuckle is backwards for the first half of the video, you always want to make sure the weight is pulling clockwise on the handle if you're facing it so the stand will tighten itself instead of loosening.
I’m going to pay more attention to it from now on! If I’m showing people how to do stuff I need to be doing it the right way haha noted 📝 🙏
@@picturemanvlogs9581 what a solid response! Everyone’s learning with you g it happens
@@picturemanvlogs9581 beautiful response
I love that your creating beautiful professional images with what you call " broken down equipment lol" you go boy!!! Thanks for your honesty this video will be an inspiration to many!
Haha yeah, when you share gear with people at a studio you’ll find that things end up broken quicker than usual, but I appreciate the love 💪🏾 Thank You!
I actually loved the images with the larger umbrella around 14:11 really brought out the chocolateness of her skin and looked so good against the backdrop. I can’t wait to steal your setup and try this. I love watching people work in realtime. Good job!
bro your authentic style makes you so pleasant to watch and you keep it real to the point where we can relate to all of the struggles of every day studio work I appreciate your courage and respect your artistry keep going my brother we need more of you shout out Pictureman Vlogs NUFF RESPECT
Really appreciate that! I have to keep it straight to the point so everyone can follow along. Nuff Respect mi G!
The model is on point with tht amazing posing!
Yes! Great models make all the difference!
You’re a real pleaser to watch and your video is most definitely helpful. I look forward to seeing more tutorials in the future.
Thank you so much I’m glad you love the video and I’m dropping one today 🔥🔥🔥
First of all, JADA IS GORGEOUS!!. Thats all, thats the post. But seriously great work and i learned somethings that ive been trying to figure out.
Thanks so much 🔥🔥 more dropping today
This was such a goooood tutorial on lighting something i struggle with
that umbrella makes the skin look flawless
I definitely agree 🔥
Great session… new to photography and I’m here trying to learn… this is actually helpful,..
I'm glad this was helpful for you! If you have any questions, or videos you'd like to see, be sure to let me know!
So amazing and helpful! Great Job! I am new to photography and learning about lighting. Still learning lighting. I only have umbrella and lights. No beauty dish. Thank you for being genuine. Loved the umbrella poses. I learned a lot from watching you. Great photos. 👍
I’m really glad that you loved this video as I’m still new to TH-cam. I wish you nothing but success on your photography journey and I hope my videos can help you get there!
bro you soo good, I really loved your work and the result from this one light setup, I really think the lens is so sharp it surprises me 😍😄😍😍
Oh the Algorithm showin love today! Great work man. That umbrella is a cheat code for real, but that beauty dish looks like it's hanging on for dear life 🤣🤣🤣
Lol the beauty dish and the flash are holding on for dear life 😂😂😂 appreciate you man
My man ! Nice and clear to the point explanation without sacrificing on the Quality of the video production or the final images. Someone needs to interview with you and share more creative stuff about your process
Wow I appreciate this 🙏🙏
Thank you for sharing a little of your process. I feel we have similar takes/style and I’m digging your personality… you rock!
Thanks so much and I’d love to check out your stuff
@@picturemanvlogs9581 , I’m in the process of getting back into it. For now, I went ahead and subscribed to your channel and will be following you, for inspiration, sir! I did use your go to, to shoot my cat, just to try things and it came out BOMB!
I wish we could share pics in the comments, cmon TH-cam 🥶
Great video. Im about to shoot some Valentines portraits. I really don't want to use more than one light.
That Tamron 70-200, that version specifically, is awesome! sooo sharp!
I have no complaints with it whatsoever! I love this lens
Some good pictures. Confidence in the model is shown through the pics! Love the shots at 7:02 and 7:28. Keep working the magic! 😊
Wow this means a lot thank you for letting me know that you love these and also my name is also M Jones 😂
Great content. I like the less edited format so we see more of the process. Keep it up! 👏👏👏
I’m glad you see it that way because that’s what I was going for 🔥🔥🔥
Cool vid. The reason you're misfiring is that you were trying to shoot too fast on full power. From 1/2 power onward the recycle time slows down a bit and at full power you can't shoot very fast or you WILL get misfires. At full power the strobe takes the longest to recycle. Basically, whenever you're shooting at full power you need to slow your shooting down a little to avoid misfires. I usually keep the Beep on so when it sounds off I know I can take another shot.
Lol yeah I did mention it in the video but I was honestly too lazy to change my ISO or my F stop. I apologize the next time I will do everything the right way to show people what they can do if the flash misfires
One light and a reflector makes life so much easier. It makes location work a snap.
It really does make life easier and I definitely need to do more Photoshoots on location!
Thanks for the info. You answered the little question I been wondering about.
One question. The pictures you showed as you took them was fire. Were those touched up before you made the video or were they raw photos?
Thanks man I’m glad I can help! And they were unedited photos
The dopest coach 🥳😜 atleast I have learned something new, thank you G.... Ad love to see more of this
I'm glad I could help you, even if only a little bit!
70-200 don't miss, thats my studio goto for sure. keep creating subbed!
You can never miss with that! Especially for beauty portraits it’s absolutely perfect.
Cool demo! I like that you work alone here because most of us in the real world do also. And thanks for comparing the beauty dish w the softbox.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! I try to keep my videos as real as possible as to not make photography seem more complicated than it really is.
Nice work. I use the same umbrella. To stop your umbrella rod from sliding, consider using a clip on the upper side of the rod. This way you can position it with more ease, and exactly where/how you want it. Keep up the great work.
Great tip!
Is there a perfect white balance to use in studio session, if no what how do i balance the white balance in studio session? Thank you
Thank you, Awesome video. You can never learn enough when it comes to photography. I will be keeping my eye on your channel, I like your style. And thanks for bringing your beautiful model, tell her I said thank you; great job. 📸
Thank you so much and my mom always told me iron sharpens iron 🔥
Well done. First time watching your channel. Great explanation on what you're doing and the reason.
Very new to it so your feedback is well needed! Definitely doing more of these break downs
My favorite was with the umbrella!
The umbrella hits really nice 🔥🔥
Great video, great shots! Nice and chilled energy coming from you. Really enjoyed this video. Looking forward to more stuff from you!
Thank you so much and I’m about to drop another one so hope you like it!
Thanks for the video man
Any time!
Can you give deets on your v flats?!? What are they from Lowe’s?!? Did you use flat paint also?!? Thanks so much!! 😊
Hey and I got the poly boards from Home Depot. They cost around $12 per board and they come in a pinkish color. We did use flat paint for both sides and we built the holders as well.
Great video Bro! Atlanta photographer here and my go to lens (especially when I shoot my concerts/headshots) is that Tamron 70-200, 2.8. Not really a studio shooter, but get me on location with HSS, I think I'm a beast!
Awesome bro! Yeah, that 70-200 is for sure one of my favorite lenses, and definitely my go to. If you ever do give studio photography a try, be sure to consider my studio as a place to shoot at!
Nice work, is your status a commercial storage facility?
Hey I was trying to understand what you mean. Rephrase for me and I’ll be happy to answer
That looked good man! I have that Tamron lens, it's a beast!
Mannn I love it especially the 24-70mm and the 70-200mm
Beautiful work! Great video, thank you!
Thank you so much!
For next videos: on location BTS corporate portraits, school groups, wedding reception, parents baby portraits.
I’ll definitely do some on location bts soon 🔥 I don’t know about the school groups, wedding reception and parents baby portraits 😭😭
Wow they must be booking all this for you 😂
Great session, great and beautiful model! regarding the tether cable, what kind of connectors does the cable have? does the end that connects to the laptop is a usb c connector or a hdmi one?
Hey and it’s a usbc connector because both my M1 Mac and Canon R6 uses that
Would you say this setup is more geared to headshots?
Thanks man I really enjoy ur video and I love the pictures 💝💓💞
No problem! I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Are the b flats that you said you got from Home Depot like insulation boards? I want to make my own.
Please do more videos like this!!!
I have a next one for you haha 🔥
Man just gained a Top follower💪🏽
I appreciate you 🔥🔥
The shot at 17:27 💰💰💰
Thanks! She made it really hard to choose the final edits 😂
Like the way you showed every step of the process along with the pictures as you were taking them! That beauty dish changed the game 🔥 Also, what program were you using on your MacBook to show the images you were taking in real time?
Capture One
That beauty dish is a blessing haha and thank you so much. I used capture one to show the images.
@@picturemanvlogs9581 thanks man, really appreciate it! Keep doing your thing 👌🏾
Great job! I learned so much from you and your model! As a new photographer interested in doing mini sessions what should my settings be in a studio for 1-4 kids with a 50mm 1.4 lens?
So glad you learned something from my video ❤ in studio I will say for up to 4 kids I’ll keep my f stop at least f8. I’d put my exposure at 1/125 or 1/160. My ISO would be at ISO 100 and I would play with the output of the flash until I find nice lighting
Thank you so much! Can’t wait to apply your tips!
thank you brooo
What happens if clients start complaining that the light is to bright when shooting at full power?
Always love to see the growth.
I am trying my best to grow
Just subbed bro. Good stuff, looking forward to seeing more.
Means a lot! I’ll definitely be subbing to you as well 🙏
@@picturemanvlogs9581 thanks bro. Great work!
I learn a lot from this video thanks very much and you work is wonderful
Thanks so much I’m glad I can help
One Take!
We are trying!!
Can you tell me where to get that chocolate background from, please?
amzn.to/3Qe4bbZ
This is where I ordered my backdrop
Thank you very much, to know how to uses one light
You are so welcome 🙏
What program are you using on your MacBook
I wanted to ask that too!
Pretty sure it’s Capture One
Capture One
dope work bro keep creating
Thank you so much I’m new to this so it’s greatly appreciated
Great video man! Keep it up 👍🏽👊🏽
I definitely will keep it up 🔥 thank you
What do you think about godox ms300 with umbrella godox ub-130w?
I have never used it before but I can definitely look into it. Do you like it?
Those some awesome shots
Thank you so much 🙏
Hey, I love this video but how are you able to get the photos immediately to your computer?
I was using Capture One which is a program that you can connect your camera to that software using what’s called a tether cable.
Those are nice and beautiful pictures of her..😎
Thanks So Much! She's a wonderful model!
First
Gosto muito da luz do beauty dish.
parabéns pelo trabalho.
Thank you!
Nice work champ. Love the look from the 70" umbrella. I have one also haven't used it a lot, but I've have drawn some inspiration for your content. Ig sub also.
Never leave out that umbrella! Haha thank you so much for checking my video out I really appreciate you
What part of Atlanta is your studio in? My studios in West Midtown by Atlantic Station
My Studio is technically considered to be in Atlanta, but its pretty much in Smyrna, not to far from the battery.
Love your work 🙌👏
Thank you 🙌
what capture program are you using?
I use capture one to see images live!
Dope work my brother
Always gotta keep trying!
Great videos and vibe ,keep it up
Thank you so much 🙏🙏🙏
Good stuff man ! Subbed
Thank you so much 🙏
Great video!!
Love you ❤
What about a white clamshell instead of the silver, a little light under chin?
I could use a white side of the reflector to lighten up the shadows under the model’s chin as well. I use silver though because I love the catch light it gives in the eyes personally
well done!
Thank you so much
great photos from this session. If you ever need to lighten your retouching load we would love to help.
Thanks so much 🔥
Good stuff bro🔥🔥🔥
Thank you 🔥🔥🔥
what logiciel use you to to put the picture captured by your camera on your computer ?
I used capture one to see the images
How can I connect my camera to my system while taking pictures??
You can download Capture One and use it to connect your camera. Your clients will love it!
Dope Brody
Means a lot coming from you bro
The struggle is real.
Tell me about it 😂
🔥 video
Thank you 🔥🔥
@@picturemanvlogs9581 no problem 👏🏾👏🏾
which software are you using on your laptop to display those photos from the camera, sir??
He’s using Capture One
Yes! I love using Capture One. if you guys would like a dedicated video let me know!
great vid bro
Glad you enjoyed
Dope bro
All of this is new to me so I appreciate it 🙏🙏🙏
Where can we get those backdrops?
You can get them from Savage Universal
Will this work with an AD400?
Hey and yes I use the Ad400 all the time for my shoots too!
bro you gotta show us how you edit and not do us dirty like these other photographersssss
Hey DM me on Instagram @sk_visionz
✊
Big up you self me general
🎉
🎉🎉🎉
You without an accent is funny to me.
😂😂😂😂😂
This is her wedding reception she is doing this at.
Lol no wedding reception
Nice
Thank you
When ya shoot with Dana?
Why is everything broken 😂😂
Look like it’s been through a lot
@@rogerstubbs7466 that’s what I’m sayin 😂 and this man says “I don’t care for my equipment to much”
Lol that’s how it be 😂
Not good in how you’re holding the camera or how you’re using the beauty dish. Beauty dishes increase contrast, unlike a shoot through umbrella. Evidenced in the shiny highlights on her skin. Try an experiment and you’ll see
Hey and beauty dishes are used for contrast but it can be used in different ways to achieve different looks depending on the skin tone of the subject. And I thought I was holding the camera right 😂 but all view points are welcome because it helps me grow as a photographer and we learn everyday
how can he fix that(shiny highlights) using a beauty dish, perhaps maybe changing the height and angle of the beauty dish??
I like the way the highlights look. To be fair I do makeup along with photography and he captured the highlights in the makeup so well.
“I dnt care for my equipment “ now we know why ur light is broken.. c’mon bro
Yeah I don't learn my lesson lmao
give us raw files
