  • Day 2 - Anglesey Coast Path - #ChallengeWithCicerone
    All the stats!
    🥾From:Church Bay
    To: wild camp spot ⛺️
    ⏰Start 9.09am
    Time: 8hr 30 mins
    🦶Distance: 13.76 miles
    👣Steps 22,569
Weather - sunshine ☀️ we could see a black cloud in the distance but we managed to avoid it!
Money 💰: £4.20 - lunch and dinner food - chicken slices, Mayo, tomatoes, coke cola
📝Another stunning day - every time we turned a corner there was another beautiful spot to see, coves hidden away, little beaches with cows and sheep grazing next to them.
We stopped at a little town on the route to get some food. All the cafes/pubs weren’t serving food so we popped to the local shop to get some resupply and then sat on a bench in the sun and made our own. One benefit - it’s a great way to keep costs down.
We had two semi long breaks between 40 mins and 1hr.
😀We discovered this hidden gem of a wild camp spot, right by the ocean, but also secluded so people wouldn’t be able to see us unless they walked right by us.
I was pretty wiped when we stopped and couldn’t wait to get my pack off. The sun was still warm so it felt incredible just to lay in the sunshine, and switch off.
No phone, no social media. Just the waves crashing and the birds singing. I was super relaxed.
🧘🏼‍♀️I did force myself to do about 25 mins of yin yoga to stretch out my shoulder and lower back. I also rubbed some tiger balm in.
🏕We delayed putting up our tents until later on, just in case anyone did come by. But it was all good!
🌅We got to enjoy the sunset eating cheeses puffs! What a way to end the day!

I’m using @ciceronepress guidebook - #walking the Wales Coast Path 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Llwybr Arfordir Cymru 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 by Paddy Dillon. Be aware the guide book is for the whole of the Wales Coast Path, the Anglesey part starts following the Menai Bridge and then goes anti-clockwards around the island. So the book is backwards if you start from Holyhead and go clockwise! You do have to think a little bit more. But all the info you need is included! 🌟Cicerone are sponsoring the Tough Girl Adventure Series! 🌟 To celebrate the 6th year anniversary of the Tough Girl Podcast (4th august 2021) - I’m doing 6 hikes throughout August and September 😀 🥾The first hike 👉 The Anglesey Coastal Path - 140 miles 🥾 following along #ChallengeWithCicerone ℹ️Visit Cicerone website now to find your next challenge! Did you ever camp on campsites too? Did you have to pre book ?
I am going this summer to wild camp

I did stay at campsites as well - I never prebooked. But I did get in the habit of calling up in the morning to check to see if they have availability - this summer will be epic - I hope you have beautiful weather

Do you recommend any one man tents

I personally prefer 2 person tents as I like having my space. I use Terra Nova which has always worked well for me. I've used them since 2017. I got my current tent in the sale in 2018 and had no problems with it - although now the inner is starting to sag a little bit

Sad to see someone breaking the law by wild camping which you know is illegal , antisocial tourism is the last thing Anglesey needs

Thank you for expressing your concern. I understand that wild camping is illegal and not encouraged. However, I always strive to minimise my impact on the environment and leave no trace behind. You would never know I was there. Thank you for watching the vlogs.
