FACT CHECK: Magic didn't test positive for HIV until AFTER the 1991 finals.
Magic averaged 19.5 ppg for his career so averaging less than 20ppg for the finals isn't a major surprise. Besides have you ever considered that the Bulls were actually a solid defensive team. Also, don't then go on to say that Pippen was a great option at 21ppg when you discredit other players for scoring just below 20ppg. This take is so whack.
You keep quoting players' personal stats as if you understand what they mean in context but you clearly have no idea how the game used to be played e.g. claiming that John (the all time assist leader) Stockton only averaged 10ppg 🤦
Given that you mispronounced some of the players' names, it only further highlights your ignorance of the era.
Anyone can look at stats and jump to conclusions but if you actually watch the game (not just highlights and low lights) anyone will understand why Jordan is the GOAT. He didn't play against plumbers but he sure made them look that way.

Magic didnt announce it until after the finals 👀
Pippen averaged 20 as a SECOND option. Thats very good for a number 2 in that era. There's no excuse for a whole team to be averaging under 20ppg
      My bad Grammar police.
If you watched the video I did compliment a lot of the players and how entertaining some of the series were. Doesn't mean all of them were great. Or that all of them were bad. EX Lebron coming back from 3-1 sensational/ Lebron and lakers beating injured heat team in the bubble not as impressive 🤷🏽‍♂️

@@BiasedNBATakes Magic announced it in November, it was discovered in pre-season testing. I can't find anything that suggests he knew this during the NBA finals.
Pippen only averaged 20ppg twice in the playoffs with MJ (without MJ he only managed 22ppg as well 🤷‍♂️).
I didn't mention grammar, perhaps you are referring to my comments about pronunciation? I am merely highlighting that you don't know these players.

It's funny to hear people who weren't there talk about the NBA and the time era when they weren't even alive yet. They watch a few clips and act like they know what the f*** they're talking about. Well young buck, you don't. But it's really not your fault it's just the way things are these days, boys are girls and girls are boys and the league is as soft as cottonelle tissue nowadays. The NBA product these days is inferior. Oh I can hear you young bucks now, "He doesn't know what he's talking about" is what you're thinking but all we have to do is look at the current NBA numbers and the viewership has fallen drastically over the years. And that's because flopping has become fashionable and playing defense is a thing of the past. Keep telling yourself that this is the better era but real basketball aficionados that know the game and understand the game of basketball

This guy clearly doesn't know what defense is. Also this guy talking like Shawn Kemp doesn't exist. The guy average more points than Payton??? Did you even watch the game?
Jordan had a super team? Who was super on the team? Pippen??? Who else Horace I get out scored by Perkins, Worthy, and Divac, Grant? Or Paxson who also get out scored by them?
The Jazz?? You considered Jazz the better team match up out of all the teams the Bulls played in the finals. You smoking some real hard Cronic there. Outside of playing defense the only thing the Jazz had scoring was Malone. They weren't that deep compaired to Sonics, Phoenix, Blazers, and Lakers.
For the Jazz to get to the Finals on defanse alone shows you don't know, nor understand how hard it is to play basketball when someone is trying to tangle you up and keep you from getting the ball.
Go back to watching your Futbol flops basketball with the open 3 in the key paint no defense. Because you don't know what defense is. Heck do you even know what a mid range is? Because it's extinct in the NBA today.

    MJ losing the goat debate?
In 2019, an NBA poll was conducted to active NBA players on who's the GOAT and Jordan got 73% votes over lebron. In 2018, 100 college coaches were surveyed on who's the GOAT and Jordan got 82% of the votes over lebron. In 2020, ESPN commissioned a poll on who's the GOAT and splitted it into two groups (18-34 yrs old and 35 yrs old and older). And still, jordan got majority of the votes at 73%. He even got 66% votes from the younger age group. In 2023 nba allstar weekend, Jordan got the loudest ovation from the crowd in lebron's city. His signature shoes is still the highest selling signature shoes among former and active nba players. Jordan has more individual and team awards than lebron and he did all those accomplishments in just 13 1/2 seasons (he missed 64 games in '85-86 due to injury and missed 65 games in '94-'95 for playing baseball). If he wanted to break Kareem's record, he would've not retire in '93 and '98 and was on pace to break it in just 17 seasons.
When he was losing to Bird and McHale's celtics dynasty team, jerry krause didnt recruit an allstar. Instead, he just gave jordan a couple of rookies as help for jordan to build his own dynasty team. He earned his respect and the GOAT title, unlike the other guy who call himself the GOAT and demanded respect after the bubble championship against a team whose top 3 players got injured in the very first game of the series.

Few things about 1991: #1 Magic found out about his HIV positive status in the pre season of the following year and had to retire immediately. Saying he somehow knew he had HIV in June of 1991 and was dealing with it mentally, is an incorrect take. Also the 1991 Lakers were favored in the series. They had championship experience, Magic was 1 year removed from being the MVP and the Bulls back then were looked at still as a young 1 man team. There was the belief back then that a 1 man team with the scoring champion had no chance to win an NBA title because it had never really happened in previous decades which were dominated by a more team oriented style of play. Also the league was still a big man league and a team that was running exclusively through a high volume shooting guard had no history of title success. Jordan bucked that trend that year by rewriting history to become the first regular season scoring champion to win a title in decades, and the first guard scoring champion to win the title in NBA history (Look it up). That 1991 team built around a lead scoring guard was emulated many years after and nobody had anywhere near the success until the 2009 Lakers with Kobe. 1 more thing about 1991: Byron Scott was the leading scorer of the 1988 championship Lakers team (21.7ppg on 53%), he was a good player, he had a horrible series, couldn't guard MJ or score on MJ and got injured in game 4. Maybe give some credit to Jordan for holding Scott to such bad numbers, Scott was 3 years removed from being the leading scorer of an NBA champion. The other years I could nitpick but overall they were solid takes. Your 1991 take was less than stellar though lol. Keep up the content though, peace.

@BiasedNBATakes Magic missed a games in the pre season in 1992 with what was called "the flu", then he had to retire from HIV. It would have been a huge global scandal back then if it was found out that he knowingly played with HIV in the 1991 finals. HIV back then was still being misinformed as a disease that you could get from hugging someone or ridiculous things like that. Less than a 1% chance he knew he had HIV in 1991 but who knows lol. Byron Scott in 1991 played all 82 games and was only 29, I think the 1991 Lakers it was more wear and tear from all the title runs, Scott, Worthy and Magic had won 3 titles together and lost finals as well. Worthy was injured in 1991 as well, which was probably a bigger advantage to the Bulls than Scott playing bad. Either way I don't think the Lakers could have won that series, Jordan and those guys were ready to die on the court for that 1st ring, they were starving wolves after losing to the pistons the previous 3 years. 1 thing about the 1992 Blazers though, that was a good team Buck Williams was a 3x all-star and all defensive team guy. Cliff Robinson made an all-star game and was one of the architects of what became latter era 3ND/ stretch bigs that shot 3s. Terry Porter made an all-star game, he could really shoot, was +40% from 3 in that era before teams were really letting PGs shoot volume 3s. The Bulls probably would have lost that 92 Finals if Jordan wasn't absolutely brilliant and so badly outplayed Drexler.

I should have checked the timing of the 91 finals vs. the HIV issue. I just assumed that he already knew about it since it was framed that way in the video. With Magic, Worthy, Scott, Divac, Perkins, Campbell, Green - 91 Lakers were no joke.

  • @ShaadsComicsandBeers
    @ShaadsComicsandBeers 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

The 91 championship doesn't need an asterisk. That championship was earned. They smoked everybody they played against. It's not their fault ppl could stay healthy. Y'all gotta stop this nonsense of trying downplay an accomplishment. Magic had no problems getting that team to the Finals with a 58-24 record so that excuse is out. Magic didnt have HIV during the Finals to be aware of it in the first place. Yes the Lakers had injuries, that happens every year and if we're putting asterisk on championships because of injury then we might as well put asterisks on all of them. I can go down every year from last year to 1985 and name an injured player that could've effected the outcome of a championship run. The Bulls' time was 91 and they pounced. Just give credit to the Bulls for being dominant. The Trailblazers were a really good team that had a very good chance to stretch that Finals to 7. They were up 15 to start the 4th quarter of Game 6. The Bulls earned that win too. The Suns series was another one of those that could've gone to a 7. The Sonics were still great by the Finals and GP actually did guard Jordan more than what ppl wanna believe in the first three games. Jordan just smoked whatever defender they threw at him. The Jazz were great but Stockton struggled because he was constantly guarded by Scottie, MJ or Ron Harper. He was gonna struggle. Just give credit where it's due. There was nothing wrong with the comp.

After watching the video, I still think MJ is the best NBA player of all time by a lot.
A few thoughts on the video:
    1) Agree with your take on 91 Magic, that had to really be a tough time for him and had to impact his ability to play. However, although they no longer had Kareem, this team still had Worthy and Divac (Both HOF - you said at 7:40 that only the Jazz had 2 HOF players of all the Jordan Finals opponents). Given the circumstances with Magic, I agree that this was probably Jordan's easiest opponent in the Finals, but no one was beating 91 MJ on that Bulls team. Just look at how they dusted all the other teams in the Playoffs that year including sweeping the reigning back-to-back Champion Pistons.
    2) I could make the argument that Byron Scott having a terrible Finals should be credit to MJ and what a great defensive player he is.
    3) I think you are selling the 92 Blazers supporting cast really short. They didn't have any "superstars" other than Drexler, but they were a really balanced team and had made the Conference Finals for 3 straight years and the Finals 2 times in 3 years.
    4) Dan Majerle is pronounced "Dan Marley" like Bob Marley.
    5) While I disagree with the general idea that Jordan faced weak teams in the Finals, I think solely focusing on the Finals opponents doesn't do his 90's run justice. The East was loaded in the 90's, and the fact that starting in 90-91 he only lost one series in the whole decade to that stacked Magic team after being out of basketball until a month before the playoffs is wild. Then he comes back the next year, wins 72 games, sweeps that team, and starts another 3 peat. Insane.

But this is for real one of the most cherry picked every small irrelevant thing that gave MJ advantage to discredit him. Like that some games were close soooo if they woulda made that shot Bulls might not have won (ignoring the fact Jordan NEVER faced an elimination game in the finals and 2 of Lebron’s finals were literally saved by Ray and Kyrie FACING elimination. And one was AFTER Lebron bricked the first shot, and if Bosh didn’t make a great rebound AND Ray didn’t hit the most clutch shot ever, Lebron wouldn’t even have one repeat…MJ has TWO 3PEATs, but let’s pretend HE’s the one who lucky. And not picking every single championship is beside the point, you’re nitpicking at specific championships to try and discredit the man’s 3peats. But without mentioning how much more difficult it gets to repeat, and how exponentially harder it is to repeat twice in a row. Which this man did not once, but twice, and with ENTIRELY different rosters sans just 1 player. And I’m a lifelong Cavs fan, I spent almost my entire adult life rooting for Lebron. Watching every sec of those playoff runs. And the amount of picking I could go through at Lebron’s “greatest” accomplishments to discredit them could be a 5hr video. I.e. how bad Lebron in the 2007 finals run, played 20 games and was GREAT in 6, and was BAD in 14 of those games. I’m talking 19ppg on 36% shooting in 14 out of 20 games yet everyone claims Lebron single handily carried the worst team ever to the finals. Players played injured and sick all the time, and every championship run has incidents where teams are helped by things they didn't necessarily do. karl malone was is 3rd all time in the scoring list, untill recently he was num 2
all these players played when the league was balance and had defense, we had hand check and a lot of rules that balance the game ehich it made the game more dificult and also fun to watch
but if you think that your going to change someone's mind with your fail arguments you sadly mistaken
    today's nba favor scoring
    the defense had been remove

winner head commisioner has been spoon fed all his boyfriends
jordan did more at a higer and more dificult level while lebron has failed many times over and over again even having an easier softer excuse of a league
why you think we have all those high scoring games, trust me is not because they are that good, we all know why, no defense, let's just shoot from 3 and flop
if lebron was really that good the he would it won at least 8 rings by now and even we know that he did it because the keague is softer, he couldn't do it anyway
that right there tells you the diference
even if lebron wind 2 more rings
that i doubt very much that is going to happen, he will be something like
    12-6-6 in the finals
meaning that he had to go to the finals twice as much to win what jordan won in less
with a perfect 6-6 and ket not forget the 6 finals mvp
you can try to descredit the 90's all you want but tell me what you think a prime shaq will do to this league
    robinson, olajuwon
    etc etc etc
today's league is a freaking joke full of softies
only some one who doesn't know about basketball will not know or notice wth is going on
btw why you think the league invented the disgraceful play in tournament?
    to helpyour hero lequeen
who needs all the help he can get from the league and the corrupted referees
the lakers always get at least twice as more free throw that the other team
    i wonder why
90's basketball was a real man sport
today your scrubs heroes do not have that mentallity about playing hard thought defense, ever since tbe wnba the nba is slowly turning into a wnba
soon we will have woman coaching in the nba, i love basketball but the game has been in decline ever since the league started destroying the game since the 2000's

The players today are getting torched by European players. They can't even get bronze in the FIBA. This is the worst era of nba, by far. Almost all the legends and best players of all time come from the 90s. The whole trend is because bronsexuals have lost this debate. The 2011 finals alone takes lebron out of the top 5, and now that we know he's on peds, he's out of the top 10.

    • @BiasedNBATakes

    • @mphase7575
      @mphase7575 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

@BiasedNBATakes Every fan knows that the rules have changed to favor offense now, to the point where nba leadership have been holding meetings on how to fix it. Nba viewership is at an all-time low because defense is non-existent and players are allowed to carry and travel as much as they want. Even lebron said in an interview that players today can't play. Like I said, the European players are dominating now, but they didn't in the 90s. Luka has admitted that it's so easy to score now in the nba compared to the European league. Like I said the players today can't even win bronze in the fiba games. Ots pathetic. Everyone has been done with the 2020s because the viewership is down. We are witnessing the worst era yet, and Luka wouldn't even be an nba player in the 90s. The guy can't even dunk lol

🤦 are you sure they didn't allow double teams? 'All MJ had to do is play 1-on-1 then to the rim' - what about hand checking?
In the modern game: what about travel calls and what about palming the ball? The rules were different back then and so was the officiating but to make out like Jordan had it easy is such an ignorant take. Just look at what he had to do against the Pistons - they were literally clotheslining him, shoving him out of the air, tripping him up etc. and often getting away with it! I have no doubt that if Jordan played with the modern traveling and palming rules and no hand checking, he would make it look just as easy as he did back then...

LeBron has never even been the best player in any of his 'eras' when he was in Cleveland for the first time it was Kobe. When he went to Miami he was bested by Dirk (and don't forget Jason Terry 🤣) and the Spurs and saved by Ray Allen. When he went back to Cleveland he was owned by Curry. And since he has been on the Lakers he is basically irrelevant, Jokic is the man, although some in the media would have you believe he is still one of the best players in the league! How can you be considered the GOAT if you have never really been the greatest player for any significant period of time, only really good or the second best player. I used to have LeBron as 2nd all time but the longer his career goes on, the more I realise how he doesn't actually stack up against the other greats - he is not the greatest winner of even his own era, he was never the greatest shooter of even his own team, he was never the greatest defender of his era, he had so many epic failures and he is a serial flopper. How he is anyone's GOAT is crazy to me. I don't even know if he cracks my top 10 now. His longevity is his greatest accomplishment but then hold him up with Karl Malone, Russell Westbrook, Dirk, Hakeem, Stockton, Jason Kidd and Moses Malone - great players who played a long time but never considered the greatest...
