It’s a shame miss these days. R.I.P. Dynamite Kid, Jim The “Anvil” Neidhart, Mean Gene Okerlund, Gorilla Monsoon, and Lord Alfred Hayes. This whole crew was the Best Era of Wrestling
Dynamite Kid- the greatest in-ring performer of all-time. He could wrestle any style, against any one. No one did it better. Rest peacefully, Tom Billington.
outwardly in great shape, inside? complete destruction specifically his heart. the amount of scar tissue around his heart after hgis abuse of steroids, from what I read in his book is staggering.
This was a good match. This was my first time seeing Dynamite kid in action. Dynamite kid was one of the best wrestlers. You can definitely see where Chris Benoit gets some of his inspiration from! RIP to them both 💕
I'm not ever going to be sure why people say the "Attitude Era" was the best. This was "PG" but it was amazing WRESTLING with a fine mix of ENTERTAINMENT. It proves the WWE/WWF can do both and do it well when they want to.
Spoilers Below: Thanks for uploading, good match. Dynamite looked so muscular here. Liked the slick drop toe hold maneuver from Dynamite and then the slick dodge by Neidhardt that was then reversed into the O'Connor Roll.
7:13 looks like Dynamite really hurt his back on the landing of that missile drop kick. I think it was about just over a month after this match that his back finally snapped 😞 A horrible human being according to a lot of people but inside the ropes he was flawless. Way ahead of his time. One of, if not the greatest of all time.
That was his billed weight. They routinely inflate those to ridiculous proportions. No way was he anything remotely close to that. I am short; very little weight looks huge on us. Look at Dave Batista's weight at its peak as he's now talking about it in interviews, then consider how tall and how otherworldly in muscle mass. We short guys can be very nimble and athletic even with big muscles; just look at artistic gymnasts. Height matters a great deal.
One of his bouts in his first season of wrestling was against strong man Alan Dennis Dennison here in the UK. It certainly opened Alan's eyes fighting a 17 year old , well worth watching for any Dynamite fan. In those days Alan was very quick tempered and a dirty wrestler, I will say no more.
I had the same comment but just erased it because you said it. Very tops 50lbs...most likely 35-45 somewhere in there. she is muscly but for pete's sake a german shepherd weighs 100lbs, and that would be a larger than normal german shepherd lol.
That is practically an inside joke. How much sense would it make if they failed to hype up the dog's size to the kind of ludicrous extent they do all the human talent? They said Dynamite was 230 pounds, and every grandma knows what they used to say about Andre the Giant. And everyone else. All part of the literally larger than life theater. Probably barely intended to be believed by most marks, even in the kayfabe era.

I feel it was written into the script that Dynamite immediately became preoccupied with getting the dog into the ring lest Anvil get any ideas about attacking Dynamite after the match had ended.
You are wrong, I remember his 1st match in Calgary Canada, he was a football player that couldn’t make it and he married Bret hart’s sister ,so stu Hart put him to work , he was terrible before wwf , wwe, then Bret Hart had to carry him.
@@davidgraham8299 Krispen Wah, Pegasus Kid was Dynamite Kid's protege somewhat. Dynamite in Stampede there in 89 I think it was even retired and gave his boots to Benoit. Billington passed the proverbial torch to Benwah.

This was when I really got into wrestling. Love this era in the 1980s. Gorilla Monsoon was brilliant in the commentary box.
Don't forget the guy in the 3 rd row
@@rowdsMatilda as well I’m sure.
Sad that everyone in this video have passed away… Awesome memories of Dynamite in Calgary and Japan

Agree just the best
The best days of wrestling.
Wow. Dynamite in great shape with Lord Alfred Hayes, Gorilla Monsoon and Gene Okerlund on commentary. Great days
Wish we could all go back.

Attitude era was cringe, that’s when i stopped watching regularly.
I really loved the technical wrestling of the golden era 🤌🤌
Hard to believe both of these super stars of wrestling are dead!! May they both RIP!!
commentators too.
Matilda too 😔
About a month before he broke his back. That ended it all really
Wow never realized Neidhart was short, always thought he was taller.

I loved every second of this match 👍👍
Two of the best Anvil and Dynamite!!
RIP to everyone in this vid including Matilda!! ❤️
that dog had nice facial markings. and that was no padding on the outside of the ring. it looked like this could've been a longer bout. the way.
Put Dynamite in the damn HOF already! It’s long overdue!

Wow Gorilla Monsoon n Mean Gene on Commentary? Underrated duo right there
Lord Alfred Hayes too
Underrated by you
We were spolied as young wrestling fans by all of the great announcers of this era
It's crazy that they sadly BOTH died in the SAME year... 😔
Now THAT is a legendary crew of commentators.
As popular as Dynamite was Matilda, definitely got the bigger pop that night XD
Jake made the dog have diarrhea
Amazing video
4:11 what a move by Dynamite
Dynamite resembles Davey a little bit.
Look at the physical condition of the dynamite kid ... awesome irrespective of how this was achieved
Steroids and he trained very seriously. Amazing physique as you say
They look about the same height. Jim wasn't a tall guy either.
No he was bout 5'11" max . U can tell when him and Bret were close . Bret was talker him being 6'1"
No wrestler either.
Neidhart was a frickin brute, but hey, dynamite just a lil too witty for all that neidhart sass🤣
I was 2 year old man fk me rip to them all 80s 90s wrestling was something special
Dynamite was an athletic phenom. Just unbelievable to see a guy who weighted 104 kg move the way that he did. He had the speed of a cruiserweight.

He was listed at 6'2" but gotta be wrong. Dynamite and Jim look to be the same height.
