I'm an LVN here in California. I'm salaried at $105,000/year which is equivalent to $50.48/hr. That is as a health services director in assisted living. I was promoted to regional nurse (LVN) range is from $130,000-$160,000. They started me off at $145,000/yr.
you forget to mention that men overall in Nursing always get paid much more than our female counterparts. i was making six figures as a new grad with some overtime working in the midwest. im also in california and started at 60hr with 1 year experience. i was making 43.78hr in the midwest fulltime, theres money in nursing you just gotta look. often many employers will hire a male over a female especially when theyre understaffed because they know men will come in to work more often than calling out. also nursing is always short from my experience because women take time off for their kids, and pregnancy etc.
Damn! And I hear that California facilities also have state mandates on safe staffing ratios too! Texas has zero safe staffing mandates, and the pay isn’t nearly as great here.
They would have to ban me from OT cause honey I would be on OT neck you here me...girl that take home pay is excellent for a LPN cause ppl swear LPNs don't make no money but in this day and age LPNs doing good
Yes do it! My pay nearly doubled after I became a licensed LPN. I was working as non-certified or registered medical Assistant and started at $14/hr to $23/hr in 2 years and I did get my LPN & licensed within the last year..
That is at 35-40hrs week.. It varies if staff are out that day we may work a bit later picking up that employees slack.. it’s all good though 😊.. Some may not think 23/hr is much but that’s fresh out of school
I love your way of thinking. My moms always told me that as a kid growing up and it stuck with me. She always told me anywhere you go you will always be replaceable. Time and family are key in life
Yeah OT is draining but once you see the pay I’m like ok koo lol. I love nursing because I enjoy helping people, but at the same time if I want to go on a trip or buy something I have more then enough OT to get it done quickly.
This is so true. If I’m planning on going on vacation I just pick up overtime and it’s paid for. I do love that about nursing. But these jobs make you feel obligated to do overtime because they are short , that I don’t like.
I start my LPN program in January for one year. I live in Miami and starting pay is between $26 to $35 an hour. The lowest I’ll go is $30 an hour because I know that overtime pay is gonna hit. Thank you for posting this video!! 💓💓

I'm in school now. I certainly pray my hard work will pay off. It's not always easy, the NCLEX kinda scares me. This will all be very worth it in the end.
Chicagoland pays well, most LPNs with experience definitely can be offered $36-40+hr in assisted living or LTC/skilled. I’ve earned a lot more with 5yrs experience. Weekend rates depending on the company can be as high as $55hr. You just have to know how to negotiate and know your value. Thanks for sharing!
Never claim zero. At least 1 because you take care of yourself and you’ll see more money and won’t owe. I claim 2-3 and didn’t owe anything still got money in my last field which was very high paying.
I claimed 0 because prior to working at this facility I was on unemployment due to the pandemic. I didn’t want to owe any money in taxes so I claimed 0 to offset that. It is a new year, so I should really change it
I would be very careful telling anyone to claim 1. This is heavily dependent on your income. I claim 0 AND have an additional $50 taken out for federal taxes each paycheck, and I still have owed on my taxes since the trump tax reform. Just do your own research for your own situation.
Damn that's some good money. I last my 10 year job due to covid and I used to bring home 1,100/ weekly on 40hr. I thought about joining a lpn program but went with a IT course and 8 months in and I'm thinking of changing IT for an LPN program, but I'm scared I won't pass the teas exam
