I made $23/hr as a CNA at a local agency. I got a whopping $2 raise for my first RN job when I got my BSN. It was pathetic but I'm glad I got the experience and now I can do anything, especially travel nursing!

heheheh Fun the system has some major issues lol. That’s not cool. Also when we get our BSN... there is no compensation at all, I’m like... at least you saw the value in going to school for your RN and did not stay a CNA

@@DabidRobinson I know right! But I kinda knew it would not be a big of a raise. When I was in nursing school, I was betting all of the money on travel nursing. Soon, I will probably give traveling nursing a try. No assignments out there right now except for ICU/ER.

Yes, stay away from a private school. Some schools are well over 100k to get your BSN in nursing. Community college is around 7k, and if you qualify for financial aid, it will be pretty much free. Some community colleges have a breach program that allows you to start working on your BSN, so after graduating with your ADN, you can complete your BSN in under a year.

Varies by company, and whether or not you work at a nursing home, hospital, or through agency, I would use indeed and Glassdoor to find jobs in your area and see what they are offering for pay to get a general idea of what you can make, ignore the estimated salaries and only look at the ones that the company will put what you make an hr in the description

Hey David, new to your page! I'm 27 and working on getting into an ADN program from Fall 2021 start. Wanted your thoughts on the ADN programs and what the job demand looks like for ADN's? I'm currently making about $25 an hour in IT, but bored out of my mind. My goal is to become a travel RN as soon as possible.

Plenty of jobs even with just an ADN vs the BSN. Also plenty of money in travel nursing! I think it’s a great idea for sure. Also welcome to my page haha 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
