T.Y. im searching.. 😢 I sunk into the quicksand of depression immediately when I retired, as i didn't want to, and failed at the opportunity to cancel it. I had a breakdown! I realized late, my job was my 2nd family, and my non work life really was connected. Im devastated.! Stress, fear, anxiety, insomnia and... depression.
I suffering 24/7, and watching myself dieing... and im unable to do anything.!! I just want my job back.!!, but its impossible... but. I can't accept this mistake , i don't want a life without the life I had. ... Noone has said anything that helps me..
Psychologist, Crisis counselors, 988, friends, neighbors, family, and myself. Im stuck in depression., anxiety, stress... and without sleep.

Oh, my heart goes out to you during what sounds like an incredibly tough transition. Retirement, while often seen as a golden period, can indeed feel like being uprooted from a garden where you've flourished for so long. Your job wasn't just a job; it was a community, a routine, and a big part of your identity. It's perfectly understandable to grieve this significant change deeply.
But let me share something with you, something that might not take away the pain right away but could light a candle in this unexpected night. Every end marks a new beginning. It might sound cliché, and you might not believe it just yet, but within this challenging phase lies an opportunity to rediscover yourself, to build new connections, and to find joy in places you might not have looked before ❤️
Please reach out if you need to talk to someone!

@@CynMeyerSecondWindMovement Thank you. You really do understand.
.... Thanks for that candle light .
      I'm not adjusting.
I feel so empty. I don't feel anything.
... I tried to walk in the sand, at the beach. I couldn't even enjoy that?
I felt unhappy, upset, disassociated , ... totally not the self I use to be. It's was frightening, to feel such dread. I used to walk this beach for decades, always smiling, absorbing the positive energy from the surrounding beauty , absorbing happiness with each step.
Now,... I have to force myself to go there, and feel no joy at all .
Retirement Depression has destroyed the happy person I always was....
      Thank you for caring

@@klanderkal The key to happiness is giving yourself away. By doing so you take your focus/thoughts off yourself and shift it elsewhere.
One of the greatest ways to do this is by volunteering.
You can start by doing a Google search for the term...volunteer opportunities, Pittsburg (replace Pittsburg with your city name)
Where I live there's a Lions Club which is a service club and does all sorts of charitable things and they have chapters everywhere! Look them up!
Any time you come across an opportunity and say it isn't to your liking, ask those that you talk to if they might know of any organizations that need volunteers.
Finding the right fit might take some time, but once you find the right one it can be life changing!
