My first Concert was 1981 Moving Pictures in Rüsselsheim Germany November 17, 1981 A week later I had a Cancer Surgery, 20 inc Scar, but luckily I survived , and joined all Rush shows in Germany
I was there and despite all of the rain, I knew that I could not of missed seeing Geddy and Alex there. It was amazing to see the giants of Canadian rock honoured in their neighbourhood. (honour and neighbourhood is correct Canadian spelling for all of the trolls out there, ok?). During the construction of the park, I visited a few times to see the progress of it and its a joy to see it in its completion. The park, just like the band, is amazing. But don't take my word for it. Cheers.
Agrees...been a fan since the day I cut school in April 1975 to hear "Fly By Night" album that my friend was raving about.....and he was right!! Has a seat on The Rush Bus and I have so enjoyed The Ride through the years......Cheers
I've been a fan since 1978. The first Rush song I ever heard was The Trees from Hemispheres. I remember exactly where I was when I first heard it. First saw them live in 1980 on the Permanent Waves Tour. 37 shoes since then... :-P
just love these guys. the Beatles and Rush have been my favorite since I was 12, Im 50 now and there both still my greatest love in music. very funny and classy, you cant say anything bad about them. your class act guys going to miss seeing you in concert, was NEVER disappointed.
I'll never get why so much emphasis was put on "Caress of Steel" to be a huge seller. Two albums were released in 1975. Fans were just discovering Rush and digesting "Fly By Night". Maybe not enough marketing was done for "COS". One album per year is the way to go. No other explanation makes sense. "2112" was way too popular for fans to have lost interest. Once again, I would blame marketing - not the material. "COS" is a badass album.
I think I saw a commenter state that it's because Neal is from another town and it was some local award. Plus we all know Neil probably wouldn't like all the hoopla anyway haha!
If they do an album together Leefson or whatever, please let Geddy write the songs. His album "My Favorite Headache" is gorgeous. Alex's "Victor" is a horror show. I love Alex's playing and sense of humor, but I can't believe how bad that album is. It is really, really horrible.
"You're the guy who bought Caress of Steel!" lol I love those guys!
ChiefErik These guys have always cracked me up.... they're so quick to come up with stuff like that.... hilarious!
