This is making me cringe to be honest. She is arguing that a White therapist cannot properly assist a non-White patient because they have different cultures and life experiences.
But this is the same for absolutely everyone, everyone is different, an upper-class White (which is who most doctors are) have very little in common in terms of culture and experience with a lower/working-class White, race has nothing to do with those things.
Doctors that spent their life in university and in an office have very little in common with veterans with PTSD, no matter the race.
I wish OPEN and the other psychedelic groups didn't involve themselves in those racist and segregationist movements.
Those people that talk about "Whiteness" and "Blackness" as if everyone of a same race was the same scare me.

💯 this. Well said. Whether she’s conscious of it or not, such ideas lead to deconstruction of support systems, not bolstering. By applying this type of logic, she’s actively working against people getting the support they need
