This was my first introduction to Suffocation. This track was a sonic assault on the soul of my eardrums. I often wonder what attracts me to metal. It's amazing how metal heads just can seem to find one another and just connect.

That's awesome that you finally discovered the mighty Suffocation. They have been my favorite band of all time since I was a kid, brilliant in all aspects and endeavors, and on every release. Check out their 1995 album, 'Pierced From Within'. To me and many metal/death metal fans, that album is basically the holy grail

god damn, Mike Smith. He must go through at least 4 snare skins for every album with blasts that hard. He also blasts loud enough to make it through distortion well enough.
i remember when this album got out, i was in a death metal band, we were so much into old death metal like early suffocation, and we didnt think much of this record. now listening this after all those years, this sounds like a classic old school death metal compared to shit what is released today and called death metal. i know theres a bit of nostalgia there but still.

There are metal bands that suck and there are metalcore/deathcore bands that suck, but there are also metal bands that are amazing, just like there are metalcore/deathcore bands that are amazing. And it's all based on a personal opinion. Don't like it, don't shit on it.
People had videos of their new album like 2 days after it was released, allowing people to get it for free, to steal. After all the hard work put into the album, this should not be what a band has to deal with; instead, supporting a band by buying merchandise is what keeps em' alive in the music industry, not stealing. Some people don't realize they're promoting that. It's not easy to keep the underground alive without support.
A top 20 band for sure on my Death Metal list, Pioneers of technical DM and the blast beat, Killer to see live, Pierced from Within and Human Waste are their best albums IMO.
