Back in 1997, I was used to disturbing my family while listening to this gem in K7.
Once, my father complained to my mother, saying that 'it was just a phase, soon it will change...he is just 14 y.o.'.
Here I'm 20 and fucking years later, to say that I'm about to turn 41 and 'the phase' persists still nowadays and that it is stronger than ever!
Same I'm 42 metal till death!
@mikehunt4797 At 16 they were concerned about my van Halen stuff ... I had to keep Obituary and Carcass tapes in Queen tape covers 😂
@@SimpleEarthSelfReliance good times 🤣
50 задумался прослушивая ,опять 16 ,скукотища!"и скоро death", вообще скучно!
Pero y tú papá se volvió fan de Carcass......??😂😂😂 Saludos
The man legit played a guitar riff on the drums
Fuckin legendary, right?
That’s Ken Owen for you, dude’s a legend
He did! 😂🤘🏼
That's what death metal drumming is.
Nick Menza: Finally, a worthy rival !!
30 years later, still an absolute banger
"banger" oh how the community is polluted
*DAT DRUM INTRO THOUGH, OWEN MARKED HISTORY WITH IT*
SOGNAMETAL1984 fuck yeah
No
@@alexberd1625 ok loser
@@SOGNAMETAL you dont know shit . Its really not an impressive drum intro. Judas priest did that whith painkiller. That marked history
@@alexberd1625 Why the fight guys ?
Can't you enjoy several drum intros?
I'll just say that you listen for only 10 seconds and you know who they are
Believe it or not, but I once was at a wedding where the bride and groom wished this song to be played and in full wedding attire banged the shit out of their heads.
Awesome
Lmao imagining that
That sounds like the coolest wedding ever
That's part of a FRIENDS joke. Chapter17, season 7
I hope they followed up with heartwork
Bands like Carcass, Summoning, Obituary, Death, Dismember, Deicide, Celtic Frost, Slayer, Sepultura, and Napalm Death get me in the zone when I am mowing lawns. And I use a push mower or a commercial walk behind.
BIGBLOCK5022006 I do the double kick parts when driving my mower because it doesn't have a gas pedal. Only a brake.
lol
Not Lawnmower Deth?
I was just mowing the lawn listening to some Yob lol
Yarıldım lan 😂😂
just discovered them like 3 months ago (better than never), and suddenly fall in love with them
lindo
Carcass and Jungle Rot are the two that did this to me
Always new the name Carcass and would recognize the cover for heartwork but never gave it a listen until now. Now I'm addicted.
Enjoy what a unique this band this was. Symphonies of Sickness is the other great record by Carcass
that's such a good thing to hear! it's always good when you find out new stuff to love
An absolute gem of my childhood. The best Carcass era.
Necroticism is for my money THE greatest death metal album ever made. It's still scary as hell, proggy as hell, technical, and the riffs....man, 30 years on it's still ahead of its time
No doubt about it, man!
Hell yes! Absolute classic.
I go back and forth between Necrotism and Consuming Impulse as the best death metal album. Both are just so good.
Best by far I've heard yet. Individual Thought Patterns is my runner up.
this album is in my flesh since it was out ;)
Carcass and Bolt Thrower were my favorite of the early death metal bands. England was producing legends!
Correct 😂
Mine too man u have a sick fucking taste in music 😎😎😎
@@EricCampbellUAV nobody from the american'ts.
I remember, for the Grindcore enthusiast of that time, this was like "Enter Sandman" for Thrash fans - The end of the world. Can you believe it?
Great stuff! Back then, and still today!
The most perfect death metal song ever written. No parallel at all
...for victory
Carcass and Bolt Thrower were lightyears ahead their time.
Morbid Angel
@@blastbeatindustries3191 Goddamn I forgot Morbid Angel.
Yeah you're right.
The first 3 MA albums were and still are rock solid masterpieces🤘🤘🤘
Pig Destroyer yes yes
C E N O T A A A A A P H 🤘🏻☠️
@@reindlbua "Where Next to Conquer" and "Kill Chain"
That stoner rock sound at around 3:50 gets me every time! Such a great band!
Excised and anatomised
Deviscerated disarray
The torso diverged with pride
Deftly amputated
Evulsed limbs now defunct
The trunk imbrued
Tatty stumps used as lugs
For a chondrin puzzle so quaint
Head and body decollate
A heaving mass so quiescent
Scattered and scrambled
Your teasement grows
A bloody caricature to make whole
A squirming grisly jigsaw
Detrital fragments fit so snug
That missing piece will
Leave you stumped
Totally disassembled
Nicely sliced and diced
A cold mannequin once resembled
Real cranium teaser
Carved from flesh and bone
So mystifying
Battered and diffused
With placating blows
A human jigsaw to make whole
A sequacious pattern
Which once fitted so snug
Joining together each dubious lump
Ravaged disassembly
Neatly cubed and diced
A cold mannequin reassembled
Astute brain teaser
Incorporate flesh and bone
So mortifying
An incessant game
Methodically made
With each cumulative piecing
Of commensated meat
Bi-manual reconstruction
Eldritch problem complete
A convened effigy
A pathological toy
Each chunk rigorously
Inter mortis locking
As you pathogenically rot
Such a perplexing task
To fit the remains in a casket
Uliginous mess so quiescent
An incessant game
Methodically made
With each cumulative piece
Of commensated meat
I can't exactly explain why but I absolutely love Bill's voice! One of the best vocalists ever in all of death metal 🤘
I specially like the close harmony singing between Walker and Steer. Really well done.
Really ahead of its time and is an iconic death metal anthem.....sounds fresh and innovative even now. Nobody at the time sounded like them...many imitators have since, but nobody came close to this
30 years listening to the whole range of it and never gets old.....especially this album for me hits a nerve where it peaks out big time. So gratifying and mezmerising. Its a game.
This album still hits harder than 90% of tech death releases over the last three decades.
@@editorrbr2107 true
modern tech death is a travesty
it's a shame that more bands didn't follow the style Nocturnus, Atheist, Death & Cynic had laid the groundwork for
I used to smoke weed and listen to this album non-stop as a 17 year old in my parents living room when they were away on holidays. Man oh man this entire album is non-stop madness, very underrated
It is not underrated at all, it is THE GREATEST death metal album of all times.
Holy shit Man i am doing the exact same 17yo shit right now
@@belzebubszatanista2767 Don't forget me when I'm an old man still posting on youtube! haha
Bill Steer's backing vocals are AMAZING - and kicking out such killer riffs at the same time - the man is a METAL GOD!!!! ( had the pleasure of meeting him - at a Kreator concert! He was stood next to me in the crowd! I jokingly asked if he'd come to learn some guitar techniques from Mille :D ) \m/
Every British metal Is amazing!
Only one of the greatest heavy metal songs of all time.
this is r real metal
One of the best guitar tones ever.
Yeah mate, the most Killer tone of the set ever! ♠️✋♥️
Been trying to replicate it for years, but can't get it just right.
🤘 this and Soul of a New Machine.
@@cyborgoftheyear i think it is called Swedish buzzsaw sound/tone. usually they use Boss HM2 to attain those kind of riffs.
then you probably will like Crowbar...
It's March, 11, 2022 and up to date, no death metal better than this one has been invented. There is something about this kind of music recorded in the early 90's with whatever equipment they used that can not be replicated.
Colin Richardson produced this I believe. His sounds are always amazing
This is just catchy as all hell
The early 90's gave us so many killer bands like Carcass.😈🤘🤙
Any modern death metal band that puts groove back into the mix will surely skyrocket into mainstream.
One of the greatest death metal songs of all time
Dope AF. Def. one of the most metal songs I have ever heard. I can absolutely see why this is in the top 20 metal songs ever!
Been coming back to this one for years such a classic
Still masterful 30 years later.
One of my all times favourites
My french friend said that one guy he knows listened nothing else but Carcass, what it comes to music!!! I think that if it is his choise, then he couldn't have chosen much better🤒🤘🇫🇮
Carcass, had all their albums when I was a young punk, Reek of Putrefaction, Symphonies of Sickness, Necroticism - Descanting the Insalubrious is my favorite album, i was 16 yrs old
Our college radio station accidentally played this track twice in a row when it came out.I was hooked🤘🖤
It's impressive how that band could put together all the techniques so far produced by the great bands since the old-school until modern times.
Carcass is a great band and is not credited enough. I only recently started listening to them and regret I didn't try it before. If you like metal you will love these guys. And their new work kicks ass as well! They have aged extremely well and I might even like their newest album more than the old work. This is a rare thing cause most bands are over the hill after 20 years.
Ten utwór jest po prostu zajebisty!!! Mam 46 lat i dalej go uwielbiam
This was the best era for death metal, got to see em live and hang with them, great chaps
I love the sounds of mountains moving.
Best band to come out come from the north west of England since the Beatles
Ken's drums on this one are out of this world good.
3 years ago today, the song that made me love b standard
I've been trying to find this song since the beginning of TH-cam, all I knew is that it was by Carcass.
They opened with this song when I saw them at Stax Nightclub, back in 95.
Do yourself a favor. Listen to all of the Earache albums before mid 90's. For those who know, your welcome.
24 years after the first time I listened to this and it still kicks so much ass.
i love that riff. Any band that has that makes me fall in love. Bolt thrower and six feet under. I need that crunch
What do you think of SFUs last album?
Watching this awesome vid after 10 years of not seeing it, I see why my parents were so concerned for me when I was 12-13... imagine walking in to ur kid watching this with a big old smile lmao
Parents always act like you’re taking drugs, not listening to metal. I remember many people asking me whether I had become a satanist with a look of concern I have only seen in the exorcist. Metal is just art and the lyrics are just words and therefore, you don’t become a serial killer just from listening to metal
I would hug the kid. Thank YOU ❤
Parenting at its finest
I remember ordering “Reek” on cassette from Camelot music by the mall, when I was wee lad. Took 6 weeks to ship. Cuz you couldn’t even get that sh!t in the states, except for that one joint at the flea market. Ahh, memories 😈
Esos Carcass,q buenos son,me gustan mucho,y este tema buenísimo también,se sale,👍🙌🙌🙌🤟👍
Was very lucky seeing them back in 1990 in Vienna…What a great concert it was…
wish i was born back then 😅
One of the most iconic songs of metal
Creci escuchando esto
Qede con la cabeza qemada pero no me arrepinto de nada😅me sigue pareciendo buenisimoooo!
Es muy bueno!!!!
Carcass are the best metal band!! This song is awesome?!!! Another masterpiece from the legends, 🤘 bone crushing metal 🤘 carcass rule!!!!
I had a huge crush on bill Steer 😁😍
as any sane person
Carcass has long been my favourite death metal band, at least the favourite UK one. The varied their sound over the years, but in all styles, they gifted us with songs that just pummel and shred.
Love his voice!!!!!
Grindcore ❤😊
Dual vocals: screech and growl is the winner here (IMHO OBVS)
песни моей молодости.🤘молодцы
Этот прекрасный волосатый мир! Славные времена! С каждым годом только лучше становится песня.
que mierda esribiste
I always felt that Ken really made this band. Love the beats and patterns he comes up with. A lot of people dont realize it but a drummer can make or break a band.
How many people, don't realize it, would you say?
@@codymoe4986 I would say around 99% of people who have never played in a rock band dont realize what a good drummer can do for a band. Back to carcass and the other great in english grind, Napalm; i love how they dont use huge heavy metal kits and over do double bass even when going in a more death metal direction. Imagine a band with 2 drummers where it is mick and ken doing poly rhythm shit.
My favorite song glad they played this in Bakersfield CA. It was Carcass Testament and slayer at the now Mechanics stadium. I think we should have a wall of Fame of everyone that has played here. For the history
I first learned of Carcass from hearing the song " BURIED DREAMS " & I was an Instant Fan!!! 🤘🤘
a metal classic \m/
I still remember seeing them playing this in 1991 at the Hollywood Palladium, right across the street from where they used to film Star Search. They played with Napalm Death and Cathedral that night. Cathedral just sounded like noise. Napalm Death sounded bad ass though. Barney's voice sounds so good live. I was actually blown away. I moshed in the pit for every single one of Carcass's songs, every single one of them! 🤘
They still play this live in 2023, awesomeness 😃🤘
my favourite drum pattern
Absolutely fucking brilliant!!
They will forever sound like this live!
Bill steer is phenomenal…saw them live in San Francisco 5 years ago or so
My favorite new/old band. Jeff Walker my new favorite bass player.
1 my all time favourite bands !!!!
one of the best what death metal has to offer! holy shit, true perfection!!
Posiblemente el tema q más he oido y el q mas me gusta d Carcass, viene conmigo desde hace ya tiempo 💎🤘💀🤘
Still unsurpassed in their own dominion. Superb. No. Sublime.
One of the best metal tracks by one of the best metal bands.
Necrotism, Decanting.. was my intro to Carcass back in 90(?) saw them on Campaign of Musical Destruction tour w Cathedral.. other Earache Recds bands early 90s.. AND I JUST NOW am aware of this video. TYVM!!
Watched this live on "The Gods Of Grind Tour" 30 years ago in Johannesburg, they kicked ass and took names that night!
Saw them in the 90s. My fav death metal band
One of the first riffs I learned.
These guys are legends🤟
Cheers from USA.
Vegetarians are so grind!🍺
Time is flying by so fast, Earache was killing it with raging roster but my fave is the mighty Bolt Thrower (RIP).
With Ken Owen, yes!!!
This tore the damned roof off in Atlanta. Loudest set I’ve ever heard in my life.
I recently saw them live in Kansas. One of the greatest nights of my life. The pit was absolutely insane.
Saw em last year, I thought the same thing! Awesome show!!
When I saw them. Not only were they loud, but CLEAN. It was gorgeous.
Saw them back in 2016 in Atlanta with Testament. First concert I ever went to.
Just saw these guys on tour a few weeks ago. Keep on Rockin!!!!!!!!!
Saw them live twice. Both times awesome!
Ik mis jullie! zo'n fantastische band! dankzij jullie is mn liefde voor metal begonnen!!
Ken Owen is an absolute monster!
One of my fav of Carcass masterpiece 😍😍 young and wilddd
