Bengal Bengal Bengal and only Bengal had the resilience and inner strength to fight back. The greatest Bengali of all times Sheikh Mujibar Rahaman had transformed a nation of hapless and innocent poor peasants into a freedom fighting force like no other, Bengalis became an independent nation in exchange of a Sea of Blood. A very well researched and well organized documentary.
    The freedom movement, realization and struggle, to begin with was definitely that of the people of Eastern Bengal, which is today Bangladesh.
    However, why has the stellar role of India not shown, during those despondent months of 1971? It was Indian decision to provide full support and training to the people of Bangladesh that brought that country freedom from the inhuman, merciless, and exploitative paradigm of the Pakistani governing structure.
    Or else, untold misery was in store for the people of Bangladesh.
    The government of India, then led by former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, and the Indian people's laudable role should have also been included in this video of the momentous events of 1971/1972.
    Thank you.

    • @mehedi1178
      @mehedi1178 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Yes india helped a lot. Without India's training and weapon supplies Bangladesh would have had 5 to 10 times more casualties than how many people died. But at the end of the war when indian army were about to leave the newfound Bangladesh the army took almost allthe riches stockpiled and money from the banks. Leaving the country dead poor. So you can say Bangladesh paid india already.

    • @ranajoysen6377
      @ranajoysen6377 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@mehedi1178
      Without Indian understanding, support, and assistance, Bangladesh might have attained freedom at such an unimaginably horrible cost that that freedom may have turned out to be meaningless.
      Before the infamous crackdown by the Pakistani military regime on 25 March 1971, the then dictator of Pakistan, General Yahya Khan had stated that " no compromise could be arrived at with the Bingos (meaning the Bengali citizenry of Eastern Bengal, then under total Pakistani control). Kill several millions of them; the rest will eat from our hands".
      That was exactly what the then ruling cabal of Pakistan would have endeavoured to put to effect. The rest, as they say, is history.
      There is some propaganda that Indian army took monetary savings from Bangladeshi banks before leaving, and all that.
      However, it is a matter of record that after liberating Bangladesh from Pakistani jackboot, it was the Indian armed personnel, under instructions from the Government of India, who assisted in starting on the basic needs of the newly-created country. From repairing railway tracks, starting postal services and communications, retrieving jewellery and cash and handing it over to respective Bangladeshi officials- hastily thrown into fields and water bodies by retreating Pakistanis during the final days of the Indo-Pak war if 1971 - it was Indian army who did it all. Therefore, to say that "Indians took away this and that" rings quite hollow.
      Therefore, it is highly advisable that those in Bangladesh, who take in the narrative that Indian army "took away this and that", before departing that country, after the end of the 1971 war, would verify facts properly and from credible sources, before proceeding to make such utterances.
      Expression of gratitude to India from Bangladesh for being the saviours of Bangladesh in 1971 has always been graciously welcomed by India. It is not necessary to keep saying thank you to India from Bangladesh at every step. Nevertheless, it is a pressing imperative that successive generations of Bangladeshis are given the correct picture of the events of 1971 and its consequent happenstances.
      A correct, proper understanding of events of 1971, subsequent trajectory of India-Bangladesh relations for the past 52 years, and creating a friendly, realistic, and proper-priority based paradigm is a requisite for a truly symbiotic relationship between India and Bangladesh in the succeeding years to come.

    I need a firm and true reply from true Bengalis in Bangladesh, & those who have migrated else where, but their heart beats for Bangladesh. In general talks, and in youtuber videos, it is learnt that, native Bengalis of Bangladesh, do not like Indians, rather they like Pakistanis. Further, they don't like Indian army, who laid down their lives for their Independence struggle, rather they like Pakistani army although they committed genocide including rapes. Its rather told by them that the genocide & rapes were done by Indian army. It means there is a systematic anti- feelings developed among the Bengladeshis through misinformation. Pak sponsored Jamait groups create anti-India feelings, and they tend to align with Pakistanis again. Sheikh Hasina and an erudite group know this well, but unable to clamp on these groups. Its surprising how Bangladeshis have forgotten yells of Tikka Khan, who came to Bangladesh, with the sole motto of changing their DNA. If Bangladeshis forget their sacrifices, it will be matter of time when they will be slaves again!!! Sheikh Hasina cannot continue forever.
