- I've been using the Apple Watch Series 5 since release. Here are my thoughts and real-world differences I've noticed compared to Series 4.

The Apple Watch Series 5 didn't get very many changes, but one of them is big enough to make some people switch back!
This feature is, of course, the always-on display. So in this video, I explain my thoughts on it and if I think it's actually worth it.
There are also a couple of other changes which we discuss in the video, and I also mention my experiences and any new differences I've noticed from the Series 4.

I've been very pleased with my Apple Watch Series 4. I do not intend to upgrade any time soon.

Got a series 5 44mm for Christmas I really like it. Coming from a series 1.Wish battery life was a bit better though.
Yeah the always on display really weighs it down but you can always turn off the the always on display if the battery is becoming more of an issue
I just upgraded from the2 to the 5 last night and looking back the 2 for what it was really was a great watch! But I’m glad I upgraded as the 5 is awsome too but I handed my 2 down to my daughter who’s in college and she loves it so far....

Hmm.. "always on"seems pointless considering.. Idk, the fact that you still naturally raise your arm to look at the watch anyway and it probably saves more energy lol it's like wishing your phone just stays on rather than lighting when you lift it.. you still have to make the call lol it only visually looks cool to others I guess
In a nutshell always on display and compass feature and more storage I don’t believe I will be upgrading from my 4.
its not aimed for series 4 users
the storage gives a clue of somthing, maybe new features or the posibility in the future to put something directly to the watch, then the extra storage will be valuable
Rex Eats I have a series 5 and I’m telling you it’s not worth it! I love my 5 though, but that’s because it’s my first smartwatch!
I got my first smart watch being the series 5 40mil aluminum and I can say it’s convenient. Just being able to get calls and texts without having to pull my phone out was enough of a feature.

I have never had an Apple Watch and recently was gifted my first one. I was given a choice between the 4 and 5 and honestly feel the 5 doesn’t have enough difference to justify paying a higher price. The always on display is a battery draining issue and as a nurse who works up to 16 hours a day I hate that it would die quicker. The compass means nothing to me. Maybe if I was an avid outdoorsman it would be awesome but I’m not. Series 5 is a hard no for me.
Cassandra Ann you can disable the always on display and then you will have better battery life than the series 4
Series 5 is like double the price for double storage and an always on display its ridiculous. Series 4 for me thanks.
I just upgraded from the series 2 to the series 5 cellular and I love it! I have a watch collection of modest means but I love all the watches in my collection! Although I love the Apple Watch series 5 there’s no way it could ever take away wrist time (well some) from the “real” watches in my collection!

My first Apple Watch is a series 4 Nike series... I love the functionality and battery power... I will not be upgrading anytime soon unless Apple gives the watch a major overhaul

I've never considering getting an Apple Watch as an accessory. It doesn't have the classy feel of a time piece like an IWC or Shinola watch. Hopefully it does one day as I do see the use for it when I am working out. Thank you Max and team.

The series 4 space gray Aluminum is lighter color than the one on the Series’s 5 ... The series 5 aluminum is more into black than gray. I also noticed that the digital crown on series 5 is slightly thinner than the one on series 4.
the gold band has nothing to do with how the gps works.. i hate when youtubers try and flex on the people that gave them the money.

Another feature I would like to see for the series 6 is a blood pressure monitor. It would be great to monitor it all day. There are a lot of people who don’t even realize they have high blood pressure which is a killer!
Just bought series 5 nike edition (40 mm, silver) my first ever smartwatch. I'm very happy with always on display, useful on daily activities and get you feel more confident.

Do you have cellular turned on always? I used mine without my phone for a day whilst at work and I had 10% battery by 7 o clock at night. Mine is a series 4 but still I thought I’d get better battery than that. I must of took about 5 or 6 calls.

So glad my brother watched your video! He upgraded to the series 5 and gave me his series 4. I try not to be too hard on him and not ask him all the time if his watch is on. :o He has to tap it so it can actually show that it is on. Hell, that's what I do to mine! He tried to tell me "at least it is faster". I smiled and said "OK". I'm installing the new 6.2.1 update for mine now. Poor guy...he never learns!

Only reason I upgraded it because I regretted not getting cellular and silver. I stuck with Nike I’ll wait for the redesign before I try the high end watch models.

Hmm..i own lg watch urbane since it first launch..it was around 2015 if not mistake until battery decide to die in 2019..always on display already there...

I got my first Apple Watch which was December 26th! The Apple Watch Series 5 and I love it very much! I wear it every day I go places! Way better than the Series 3 from my general knowledge
How do you end with 25%? There hasn’t been a single day I’ve ended with less than 40% charge on my Apple Watch series 5 😅
I use the info modular face, and brightness is at 50%. i even have the HR and noise tracking on, and i have an 18 hour day.
I would like some sleep tracking because i havent found a good enough app for it yet. But beyond that, im quite happy with my pourchase.

I'm currently thinking about buying an Apple Watch. Where I live we have the series 4 available as brand new too. How much better is the battery life on the series 5 with AOD turned off compared to the series 4? I would not use the AOD, but extra battery life would be great.
Pxel Guy See, it will last you all day, but the Series 4 is ridiculous no calculator less storage, no always on display or compass, the Series 5 has lasted me 24 hours before, get the Series 5
Pxel Guy the series 4 does have a calculator and there isn’t much difference AT ALL. They’re basically the same watch except AOD and a compass. If you care not for those things, you’re good to go with the 4.

Full brightness and still 55% at the end of the day? You are the only person (out of probably 30 videos) that has said they are getting battery life that good. Either you aren't using your watch much throughout the day or you consider a full day to be 8 hours. There are so many other reviews that are telling us to turn down the brightness, turn off unnecessary notifications, and keep a charger handy if you have a long day.

to me, the S4 is the best value compared to S5. the S4 is also the peak of Apple for anyone who would like to buy a smartwatch under the ecosystem. the AOD, compass and other increment features of S5 are just fancies. the S4 is the smartwatch that could set your daily needs in a smartworld. also, the ECG feature is still not in my country up to now which defeats the purpose more had i purchased the S5. i. had no regrets with my S4.

The AOD display is nice, as like you said the screen on the Series 4 looks weird with it off, but to spend $800 to get that functionality seems pretty crazy
I am excited to upgrade to the Series 6 and get the AOD though along with whatever other improvements Apple will bring to the table later this year

There is always room for more tech and to remain a hugely profiting company,they will release newer version, almost every year. Of prices drop down but they try not to because of market share. Buying any version would be less by few dollars. Only when that excedees the current economy. It becomes useless
